সুমিত ঘোষ,মালদা: মালদা সেচ দপ্তরের ইঞ্জিনিয়ারদের নিয়ে শহর থেকে গ্রামের বিভিন্ন এলাকা পরিদর্শন করলেন ইংরেজবাজার পৌরসভার চেয়ারম্যান কৃষ্ণেন্দু নারায়ণ চৌধুরী। আগামী কিছুদিনের মধ্যে জল সমস্যা থেকে মুক্তি পেতে চলেছে পৌরবাসী। বিগত দিনে অল্প বৃষ্টিতেই জলমগ্ন হত মালদা শহরের বিভিন্ন এলাকা। মালদা শহরের কৃষ্ণপল্লি, মালঞ্চ পল্লী, দুই নম্বর গভমেন্ট কলোনি সহ বিভিন্ন এলাকা জলমগ্ন হত। ইংরেজবাজার পৌরসভার চেয়ারম্যানের দায়িত্ব পাওয়ার পর নিকাশির ব্যবস্থা নিয়ে তৎপর হোন কৃষ্ণেন্দু বাবু। তিনি কথা দেন জল যন্ত্রণা থেকে মুক্তি দেওয়ার জন্য উদ্যোগ নিবেন তিনি। জল সমস্যা মেটানোর জন্য তিনি সাহায্য প্রার্থনা করেন বাংলার মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের কাছে। সেই মতো শুক্রবার সকালে মালদা সেচ দপ্তরের ইঞ্জিনিয়ার এবং এক্সিকিউটিভ অফিসারদের নিয়ে বিভিন্ন এলাকা পরিদর্শন করা হয়। তাদের নিয়ে শহরের বিভিন্ন এলাকা পরিদর্শন করেন কৃষ্ণেন্দু বাবু। রাম নগর কাচারি, গ্রীন পার্ক মাধব নগর, বিশ্বনাথপুর মোড় হয়ে ফার্ম, মালদা বাইপাশ,যদুপুর এবং আমবাজার এলাকা পরিদর্শন করেন চেয়ারম্যান কৃষ্ণেন্দু নারায়ণ চৌধুরী। পরিদর্শনের মাঝেই শহরের জল ঠিকমতো নিকাশি না হলে কড়া ব্যবস্থা নেওয়ার কথা বলেন কৃষ্ণেন্দু বাবু। শহরবাসীকে জল যন্ত্রণা থেকে মুক্তি দিতে সবরকম উদ্যোগ নেওয়ার কথা জানান তিনি।
Sumit Ghosh, Malda: Chairman of Englishbazar Municipality Krishnendu Narayan Chowdhury visited different areas of the city to the village along with the engineers of Malda irrigation department. The residents are going to get rid of the water problem in the next few days. In the last few days, several areas of Malda town were inundated with little rain. In Malda town, various areas including Krishnapalli, Maloya Palli, Government Colony Number 2 were inundated. After taking over as the chairman of the Englishbazar municipality, Krishnendu Babu took care of the drainage system. He promised that he would take the initiative to get rid of the water woes. He sought help from Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to solve the water problem. Similarly, on Friday morning, engineers and executive officers of Malda irrigation department visited different areas. Krishnendu Babu visited different parts of the city with them. Chairman Krishnendu Narayan Chowdhury visited The Farm, Malda Baipash, Yadupur and Ambazar areas via Ram Nagar Kachari, Green Park Madhav Nagar, Biswanathpur Junction. In the midst of the inspection, Krishnendu Babu said that strict action will be taken if the water in the city is not drained properly. He said that all efforts should be taken to relieve the residents of the city from the water woes.
