ইন্দ্রজিৎ আইচঃ জু লজিক্যাল সার্ভে অফ ইন্ডিয়া সারা ভারত তথা সারা পৃথিবীর ইতিহাসে এক উল্লেখযোগ্য নাম। যারা বনে জঙ্গলে, পাহাড় পর্বতে, সমুদ্র, নদী নালা থেকে মরুভূমি সর্বত্র অনুসন্ধান করে বেড়াচ্ছে বিভিন্ন পোকা মাকড় থেকে জীবজন্তুর। এর মধ্যে তাঁরা একেবারে ৫০০ নতুন জীবের সন্ধান পেয়েছে। কলকাতা প্রেস ক্লাবে এক সাংবাদিক সম্মেলনে এই কথা জানালেন জে এস আই-এর ডিরেক্টার ড: ধৃতি ব্যানার্জী। তিনি জানালেন, “আমরা বা আমাদের টিম সারা ভারতে প্রাণী বৈচিত্রে এক নজির সৃষ্টি করেছে। আমাদের সারা ভারতবর্ষে কলকাতা ছাড়া ১৬ টি রেজিওনাল সেন্টার আছে। যেমন দেরাদুন, ওড়িশার গোপালপুর, দীঘা, সুন্দরবন, হায়দ্রাবাদ, চেন্নাই, শিলং, ইটা নগর, জব্বলপুর, পাটনা, নর্থ ইস্ট, হিমাচল প্রদেশ, আন্দাবানে সব জায়গায় আমাদের সেন্টার থেকে বিভিন্নভাবে প্রাণীদের খেয়াল রাখা ও গবেষণা সব করা হয়। আমাদের কাজ হলো কোন্ প্রাণী কবে জন্মেছে; তার বংশ বিস্তার থেকে তার প্রকৃতি, তার মৃত্যু এমন কি দু’ হাজার ৮০০ বিলুপ্ত প্রাণীর ডি এন এ রাখা আছে আমাদের সংস্থায়। ভারতে এক লক্ষ তিন হাজার প্রাণী আছে ছোট থেকে বড়। এই প্রথম আমাদের ১০৭ বছরের ফাউন্ডেশন ডে পালিত হতে চলেছে ১ লা জুলাই ২০২২ শুক্রবার। সকাল ৯ টা থেকে বেলা ১২’৩০ পর্যন্ত। আমাদের এই অনুষ্ঠান হবে নিউ আলিপুর ক্যাম্পাসে। এই অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত থাকবেন কেন্দ্রীয় আবহ দপ্তরের মন্ত্রী ভূপেনদর যাদব, কেন্দ্রীয় বন মন্ত্রী অশ্বিনী কুমার চৌবে এবং আই এ এস লিনা নন্দন। এই দিন প্রকাশিত হবে চারটি বই, ভারত বিখ্যাত তিন বিজ্ঞানীকে দেওয়া হবে বিশেষ এওয়ার্ড। ভারতের বিভিন্ন প্রজাপতি নিয়ে একটা ওয়েব সাইট লঞ্চ হবে। থাকছে ভারতের স্বাধীনতার ৭৫ বছরে আজাদী কি অমৃত মহোৎসব। সাংবাদিক সম্মেলনে উপস্থিত ছিলেন রাহুল জোশি, বাসুদেব ত্রিপাঠি, দেবাংশু গুপ্তা ও প্রমুখ ব্যাক্তিবর্গ।
