মালদা-এক অষ্টম শ্রেণীর ছাত্রীকে ধর্ষণের চেষ্টার অভিযোগ উঠল প্রতিবেশীর বিরুদ্ধে। বাধা দিতে গেলে আক্রান্ত হয় মা। চাঞ্চল্যকর ঘটনাটি ঘটেছে মালদা জেলার ইংরেজ বাজার থানার জহরা তলা এলাকায়। আহত স্কুলছাত্রী আজমিরা খাতুন বয়স (১৩) বছর ও তার মা ফারিদা বিবি চিকিৎসাধীন মালদা মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে। আজমিরা খাতুন জহরা তলা হাজী মোহাম্মদ হাই স্কুলের অষ্টম শ্রেণীর ছাত্রী। অভিযুক্তরা হলেন আজগার আলী ও খলিল শেখ। অভিযুক্তদের বিরুদ্ধে ইংরেজ বাজার থানায় লিখিত অভিযোগ দায়ের হয়েছে। পরিবার ও পুলিশ সূত্রে জানা যায় প্রত্যেক দিনের মতো আজ সকালেও ওই স্কুল ছাত্রী ঘরে ঘুমিয়ে ছিলেন। সেই সময় প্রতিবেশী দুইজন যুবক ও ছাত্রীর ঘরে ঢুকে তাকে ধর্ষণের চেষ্টা করে বলে অভিযোগ। চিৎকার করলে তার মা ছুটেে এসে বাধা দিতে গেলে তাকেও বেধরক মারধর করা হয়। তড়িঘড়ি দুইজনকে চিকিৎসার জন্য আনা হয় মালদা মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে। বর্তমানে মালদা মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসাধীন অবস্থায় রয়েছেন মা ও মেয়ে।
এই বিষয়ে ওই স্কুল ছাত্রীর মা ফরিদা বিবি জানান, যে আজ সকালে ঘুম থেকে উঠে বাথরুমে গিয়েছিল তিনি। সেই সময় তার মেয়ে ঘরে ঘুমাচ্ছিলেন। অভিযুক্ত প্রতিবেশী দুই যুবক ঘরে ঢুকে তার মেয়েকে ধর্ষণের চেষ্টা করে। মেয়ের চিৎকার শুনে আমি ছুটে এসে মেয়েকে বাধা দিতে গেলে আমাকেই মারধর করে ওই অভিযুক্ত দুই যুবক সেখান থেকে পালিয়ে যায়। ধর্ষণের চেষ্টা না এর পেছনে অন্য কোন কারণ রয়েছে তদন্ত শুরু করেছে ইংরেজ বাজার থানার পুলিশ।

Farida Bibi, the mother of the schoolgirl, said she woke up this morning and went to the bathroom. At the time, her daughter was sleeping in the house. Two youths from the accused’s neighbourhood entered the house and tried to rape his daughter. Hearing the girl’s screams, I rushed to stop the girl and beat me up and the two accused youths ran away from there. There is no other reason behind the rape attempt and the police of English Bazar police station have started an investigation.
