কলকাতা থেকে শুভ ঘোষের রিপোর্টঃ জুলজিক্যাল সার্ভে অফ ইন্ডিয়ার পক্ষ থেকে পয়লা জুলাই 107 তম বছর উদযাপিত হলো কলকাতার প্রাণিবিজ্ঞান ভবনে। উক্ত অনুষ্ঠানে বিশেষভাবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন কেন্দ্রীয় বন, পরিবেশ ও প্রাকৃতিক বিষয়ক মন্ত্রী শ্রী ভূপেন্দ্রকুমার চৌবে এবং শ্রী অশ্বিনী কুমার চৌবে। এদিনের অনুষ্ঠানে একাধিক ব্যক্তিত্বকেই অম্লান পুরস্কারে সম্মানিত করা হয় মন্ত্রীদের পক্ষ থেকে। কালিকট বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ট্যাক্সোনমির অধ্যাপক ডক্টর সাবু, জুলাজিক্যাল সার্ভে অফ ইন্ডিয়া প্রাক্তন ডাইরেক্টর তথা প্রাণিবিদ্যার বিশিষ্ট গবেষক ডঃ কৈলাস চন্দ্র, ইনস্টিটিউট অফ সায়েন্স এন্ড টেকনোলজি ফর মাইক্রোবায়োলজির অধ্যাপক চন্দ্র শশী কলা সহ একাধিক ব্যক্তিত্বকে এই সম্মানে ভূষিত করা হয়। এদিনের অনুষ্ঠানে জুলজিক্যাল সার্ভে অফ ইন্ডিয়ার পক্ষ থেকে একটি প্রকাশনার উদ্বোধন করেন মাননীয় মন্ত্রীবর্গ। করিঙ্গ অভয়ারণ্যের প্রাণিসম্পদের বিকাশ সম্পর্কিত এই প্রকাশনাটির নাম ডেকান পেনিনসুলা। সাতকোর্শিয়া বৈঁচি পল্লী অভয়ারণ্য বন্যপ্রাণী সংরক্ষণ, সাতকর্শিয়া ব্যাঘ্র প্রকল্প, উড়িষ্যা পক্ষী সংরক্ষণ প্রকল্প সহ বন্যপ্রাণী বিষয়ক বৈচিত্র্যময় বিশিষ্ট প্রতিবেদনে সমৃদ্ধ এই প্রকাশনা।
এদিনের অনুষ্ঠানে জুলজিক্যাল সার্ভে অফ ইন্ডিয়ার ডিরেক্টর ধৃতি বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় বলেন গত দুই বছর যাবত করোনা মহামারীতে যাবতীয় গবেষণা বিশেষভাবে ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ হয়েছে। যদিও খুব তাড়াতাড়ি আমরা আবার নতুন উদ্যমে গবেষণার কাজ শুরু করতে চলেছি। ২০২১ থেকে আবার নতুন করে পর্যবেক্ষণ সহ একাধিক গবেষণার বিষয় অত্যন্ত অগ্রগণ্য ভূমিকা নিয়েছে জুলজিক্যাল সার্ভে অফ ইন্ডিয়া। এই অনুষ্ঠানের ১৭০ তম বছরের এবারের থিম ছিল জীবনধারা। এই অনুষ্ঠানের মাধ্যমে বর্ধমান বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় এবং পশ্চিমবঙ্গ রাষ্ট্রীয় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সঙ্গে দুটি মৌ চুক্তি স্বাক্ষরিত হয় জুলাচিক্যাল সার্ভে অফ ইন্ডিয়ার মধ্যে। এই মৌ চুক্তি গুলির মাধ্যমে আগামী দিনে পেশাদারিত্বের সঙ্গে দুই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বিশেষ কার্যক্রমে অংশগ্রহণ করতে চলেছে জুলজিক্যাল সার্ভে অফ ইন্ডিয়া। এই অনুষ্ঠানে কেন্দ্রীয় মন্ত্রী শ্রী যাদব বলেন পয়লা জুলাই অবশ্যই পরিচ্ছন্ন এবং সবুজ ভারতের ক্ষেত্রে প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদির অবদানের একটি অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ দিন। এইদিন থেকেই সবুজায়নের এক নতুন দিশা শুরু হতে চলেছে ‘প্লাস্টিক বর্জিত ভারত’ পদক্ষেপ এর মাধ্যমে। আগামী দিনে একাধিক বৈঠকের মাধ্যমে যাবতীয় বিশেষজ্ঞ এবং বিশেষভাবে স্বীকৃত ১৭ টি সংস্থার সঙ্গে পরিবেশ রক্ষার স্বার্থে কাজ করার বিশেষ প্রয়াস গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে।
Shubha Ghosh’s report from Kolkata: The 107th year was celebrated on July 1st by the Zoological Survey of India at the Zoology Building in Kolkata. Union Minister of Forests, Environment and Natural Affairs Shri Bhupendra Kumar Choubey and Shri Ashwini Kumar Choubey were also present on the occasion. At the event, several personalities were honoured with the Amlan Award by the ministers. Dr Sabu, professor of taxonomy at the University of Calicut, Dr Kailas Chandra, former director of the Julyazical Survey of India and a distinguished researcher of zoology, Chandra Sashi Kala, professor of the Institute of Science and Technology for Microbiology, and several other personalities were honoured with the honour. Hon’ble Ministers inaugurated a publication on behalf of the Zoological Survey of India on the occasion. This publication on the development of livestock in the Coring Sanctuary is called the Deccan Peninsula. The publication is rich in a variety of reports on wildlife issues, including Satkarshia Bainchi Palli Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation, Satkarshia Tiger Project, Odisha Bird Conservation Project, etc.
Speaking on the occasion, Dhriti Banerjee, Director, Zoological Survey of India, said that all the research has been particularly affected by the corona epidemic for the last two years. Although very soon we are going to start research work again with a new zeal. Since 2021, the Zoological Survey of India has played a very important role in a number of research topics, including fresh observations. This year’s theme for the 170th year of the event was lifestyle. Through this event, two MoUs were signed between Burdwan University and West Bengal State University between The Judicial Survey of India. Through these MoU agreements, the Zoological Survey of India is going to participate in the special activities of the two universities with professionalism in the coming days. Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister Shri Yadav said that July 1st is definitely a very important day for the contribution of Prime Minister Narendra Modi towards a clean and green India. From this day onwards, a new direction of greening is going to start with the ‘India without plastic’ step. Through a series of meetings in the coming days, special efforts have been made to work with all the experts and 17 specially recognised organizations in the interest of protecting the environment.
