মালদা,৪ জুলাই : অভিনব কায়দায় বেআইনি মদ পাচারের অভিযোগে দুই যুবককে গ্রেপ্তার করল মালদা জিআরপি।
আমের কার্টুনে ভরে বিহারে মদ পাচারের চেষ্টা করছিল ধৃত ২ যুবক বলে অভিযোগ। গোপন সূত্রে খবর পেয়ে মালদা জিআরপি মালদা রেল স্টেশনে তল্লাশি চালালে ১৫টি কার্টুন উদ্ধার হয়। আমের পেটির নিচে বিভিন্ন কোম্পানির বেআইনি মদ ট্রেনে করে পাটনা পাচারের চেষ্টা চালাচ্ছিল মাদক কারবারিরা। রবিবার রাতে বেআইনি মদ সহ ২ যুবককে গ্রেফতার করে মালদা জিআরপি। উদ্ধার হওয়া মদের বর্তমান বাজার মূল্য প্রায় এক লক্ষ টাকা। জানা গিয়েছে ধৃত দুই যুবকের নাম, পঙ্কজ কুমার (১৮) এবং রোশন কুমার (১৯)। বাড়ি বিহারের পাটনা এলাকায়। মালদা জিআরপির আইসি প্রশান্ত রায় বলেন, মালদা থেকে পাটনা নিয়ে যাওয়ার উদ্দেশ্যে মালদা রেলস্টেশনে আমের কার্টুনে করে মদ মজুদ রাখা ছিল। পাটনা এক্সপ্রেসে করে ওই মদ গুলি নিয়ে যাওয়া হত বিহারের পাটনা এলাকায়। গোপন সূত্রে খবর পেয়ে আমের কার্টুন তল্লাশি করে দেখা যায় প্রচুর পরিমাণে মদ রয়েছে। এই ঘটনায় দুই জনকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়েছে। উদ্ধার হওয়া মদের বাজার মূল্য প্রায় এক লক্ষ টাকা। এই ঘটনায় আরো কেউ রয়েছে কিনা তা তদন্ত শুরু করেছে মালদা জিআরপি।
Malda, July 4: Malda GRP has arrested two youths on charges of smuggling illegal liquor in a novel manner.
The two youths were allegedly trying to smuggle liquor into Bihar by filling mango cartoons. Acting on a tip-off, the Malda GRP conducted a search at Malda railway station and 15 cartoons were recovered. The drug peddlers were trying to smuggle illegal liquor from various companies under the mango belt to Patna by train. The Malda GRP arrested two youths with illegal liquor on Sunday night. The current market value of the recovered liquor is around Rs 1 lakh. The two arrested youths have been identified as Pankaj Kumar (18) and Roshan Kumar (19). The house is in Patna area of Bihar. Malda GRP IC Prasanta Roy said liquor was stored in mango cartoons at Malda railway station for the purpose of taking it from Malda to Patna. The liquor was transported in Patna Express to Patna area of Bihar. On getting information from secret sources, the cartoons of mangoes were searched and it was found that there was a lot of liquor. Two people have been arrested in the incident. The market value of the recovered liquor is around Rs 1 lakh. The Malda GRP has launched a probe to find out if there was anyone else in the incident.
