গোপাল বিশ্বাস, নদীয়া-ঃ গত বৃহস্পতি বার নবদ্বীপ বাস স্ট্যান্ড এলাকায় আংশিক দৃষ্টিহীন তারক ঘোষ নামক এক লটারি বিক্রেতাকে সমর চক্রবর্তী নামক এক ব্যক্তির বিরুদ্ধে বেধড়ক মারধরের অভিযোগ ওঠে। জানা যায়, নবদ্বীপ বাস স্ট্যান্ড এলাকায় লটারি বিক্রেতা আংশিক দৃষ্টিহীন তারক ঘোষের বাড়ি নবদ্বীপের প্রাচীন মায়াপুর এলাকায়। অভিযোগ, গত বৃহস্পতিবার সকালে লটারি বিক্রি করার সমর চক্রবর্তী তাঁকে অন্ধ, কানা বলে কটুক্তি করতে থাকে। এরপর বেলা দশটা পনেরো নাগাদ তাঁকে আবারো ফের কটুক্তি করতে থাকে এবং অশ্লীল ভাষায় তাঁকে গালিগালাজ করে, তারক প্রতিবাদ করায় তাঁর টেবিলে থাকা টিকিটগুলি ছিঁড়ে দেয়, ও তারক ঘোষকে বেধড়ক মারধর করে। এরপর সেখানকার স্থানীয় মানুষজন তাঁকে নবদ্বীপ স্টেট জেনারেল হাসপাতালে নিয়ে যায়। সেখানে তাঁর চিকিৎসা চলাকালীন অবস্থার অবনতি হওয়ায় তাঁকে কলকাতার মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে স্থানান্তর করা হয়। হাসপাতাল সুত্রে জানা যায় তারক ঘোষের চোখে গুরুতর আঘাত লেগেছে। পাশাপাশি অভিযোগ পেয়েই নবদ্বীপ থানার পুলিশ অভিযুক্তকে নবদ্বীপ পৌরসভার নন্দীপাড়া রোড এলাকার বাড়ি থেকে সমর চক্রবর্তীকে গ্রেফতার করে। শুক্রবার নবদ্বীপ থানার পুলিশ অভিযুক্তকে আদালতে পাঠালে বিচারক ধৃত কে ১৪ দিনের জেল হেফাজতের নির্দেশ দেয়। আর এই জঘন্যতম ঘটনার প্রতিবাদে শ্রী চৈতন্য ওয়েলফেয়ার সোসাইটি ফর ডিস্যাবেল নামক প্রতিবন্ধী সংগঠনের তরফে নবদ্বীপ থানায় একটি পিটিশন দেয়। সংগঠনের তরফে জানানো হয় তারা তারক ষোষকে যে মেরেছে তার দৃষ্টান্ত মূলক শাস্তি সহ শহরে প্রতিবন্ধীদের নিরাপত্তার বিষয়টাও যেন দেখা হয়। তারা আরও বলেন আমাদের সংগঠনের অনেক সদস্যই, যারা বিভিন্ন পেশায় নিযুক্ত , আজ তারক ঘোষের সাথে যা হয়েছে তা যেন আর কারো সাথে না হয়।

It is alleged that Samar Chakravarty, who was selling the lottery on Thursday morning, started taunting him by calling him blind, Kana. Then, at about 10.15 p.m., he started taunting him again and abusing him in obscene language, Tarak tore the tickets on his table when he protested, and beat up Tarak Ghosh. After that, the local people took him to The Nabadwip State General Hospital. He was shifted to The Medical College Hospital in Kolkata as his condition deteriorated during his treatment there. According to hospital sources, Tarak Ghosh suffered serious injuries in his eyes. On receiving the complaint, the police of Nabadwip police station arrested the accused Samar Chakraborty from his house in Nandipara Road area of Nabadwip municipality. The judge ordered 14-day jail custody of the accused when police from Nabadwip police station sent the accused to the court on Friday. And in protest of this heinous incident, a petition was filed by the Sri Chaitanya Welfare Society for Disabled Organization at The Nabadwip Police Station. The organization said that the safety of the disabled in the city should also be looked into, including exemplary punishment for the killing of Tarak Sush. They also said that many members of our organization, who are employed in different professions, should not be with anyone else what happened to Tarak Ghosh today.
