রাজেন্দ্র নাথ দত্ত,মুর্শিদাবাদ : ডেঙ্গু রুখবে এবার গাপ্পি মাছে। লড়াই করবে তারা মশার লাভার সঙ্গে। এই ছোট ছোট মাছগুলি মশার লার্ভা কে খেয়ে পরিবেশকে ডেঙ্গু মুক্ত করবে। ডেঙ্গু দমনে তৎপর রাজ্য । প্রতিদিন প্রশাসনের বহু সাফাই কর্মী পরিবেশকে ডেঙ্গু মুক্ত রাখতে লড়াই করে চলেছে। এবার তাদের সঙ্গে কাঁধে কাঁধ মিলিয়ে লড়াই করবে গাপ্পি মাছ। প্রতিবছর দেশ জুড়ে প্রায় দুই লক্ষ মানুষ আক্রান্ত হন মশা বাহিত রোগ ডেঙ্গুতে। তার মধ্যে রাজ্যেই প্রতিবছর প্রায় সাড়ে চার হাজার মানুষ আক্রান্ত হন ডেঙ্গুতে। রাজ্য সরকারের পরিসংখ্যান অনুযায়ী বিগত বছরে ৮৬৬৪ জন আক্রান্ত হয়েছিলেন ডেঙ্গুতে মৃত্যু হয় ৭ জনের। ডেঙ্গু দমনে অনেকদিন থেকেই তৎপর প্রশাসন।একাধিক পর্যায়ের সাফাই কর্মী দিয়ে এলাকায় এলাকায় সাফাই অভিযান চালানো হচ্ছে। কিন্তু এমন কিছু জায়গা থাকে যেগুলো নীচু এবং জলা জমি সেখানে ঠিকভাবে সাফাই করা সম্ভব হয়ে ওঠে না। সেই সমস্ত জায়গায় যাতে মশার লার্ভা না জন্মায় তার জন্যই ছাড়া হয় গাপ্পি মাছ। গাপ্পি মাছ তার জীবন চক্রে মশার যে লার্ভা গুলি জন্মায় সেগুলিকে খেয়ে বেঁচে থাকে। যার ফলে যে জায়গাগুলিতে মানুষের পক্ষে গিয়ে পরিষ্কার করা সম্ভব নয় সে জায়গাগুলিতে সেই কাজ করবেই গাপ্পি মাছ। মুর্শিদাবাদ জেলার কান্দী মহকুমার খড়গ্রাম ব্লকের বালিয়া গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতের পক্ষ থেকে প্রতিটি গ্রামের জলাশয় গুলোতে ছাড়া হল গাপ্পি মাছ।বড় বড় ড্রেন পুকুর জলাশয় গুলিতে এই মাছ ছাড়া হয়েছে। বর্ষার মরসুমেই কাজ কে অগ্রগতি দিতে রাজ্য সরকারের এই উদ্যোগ। কিছু জলাশয়ে আবর্জনা থাকে সেই জায়গাগুলোর মধ্যে কিছুটা জায়গা পরিষ্কার করে গাপ্পি মাছ ছাড়া হয়েছে বলে জানান বালিয়া গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতের প্রধান গোকুল ঘোষ ও পঞ্চায়েতের আধিকারিকরা ।

Every day many sanitation workers of the administration are struggling to keep the environment dengue free. This time the guppy fish will fight shoulder to shoulder with them. About two lakh people across the country are affected by the mosquito-borne disease dengue every year. Of these, about 4,500 people are affected by dengue every year in the state. According to the state government’s statistics, 8664 people were infected in the last year and 7 people died of dengue. The administration has been active in controlling dengue for a long time. The cleanliness drive is being carried out in the area with multiple levels of safai karamcharis. But there are some places which are low and the marshy land is not possible to clean properly there. Guppy fish is released in all those places so that mosquito larvae do not grow. Guppy fish survive by eating the larvae that grow mosquitoes in its life cycle. As a result, guppy fish will do the same in places where it is not possible for humans to go and clean. Guppy fish were released from the water bodies of every village by the Ballia gram panchayat of Khargram block of Kandi subdivision of Murshidabad district. These fish have been released into the water bodies of large drain ponds. This is the initiative of the state government to give progress to the work during the monsoon season itself. Gokul Ghosh, head of ballia gram panchayat, and panchayat officials said that some of the places where there is garbage in some of the water bodies have been cleared and guppy fish have been released.
