নবদ্বীপ তৃণমূল পরিচালিত পুরসভায় চলছে একাধিক দূর্নীতি, পুরসভার সমস্ত শুন্য পদে করতে হবে নিয়োগ, নাগরিক পরিষেবা দিতেও ব্যর্থ পুরসভা, পাশাপাশি শহরের বুকে একাধিক জলাশয় ভরাট হচ্ছে অবৈধ ভাবে, এবং নবদ্বীপ গৌরাঙ্গ সেতুর নীচ থেকে অবাধে চলছে মাটি মাফিয়াদের দৌরাত্ম্য, এমনি দশ দফা অভিযোগ ও দাবী নিয়ে নবদ্বীপ DYFI লোকাল কমিটির ডাকে পৌরসভা অভিযান ও ডেপুটেশন কর্মসূচী নেওয়া হয়। এদিন সকাল ১১ টা নাগাদ নবদ্বীপ শহরের রামসীতা পাড়া দলিয় কার্যালয় থেকে মিছিল করে পুরসভাার সামনে আসে, চলে তৃণমুল কংগ্রেস পরিচালিত পুরসভা ও পৌরপতির বিরুদ্ধে দূর্নিতির স্লোগান। এর পর পৌরসভার পার্শ্ববর্তি নাম নেতাজী স্ট্যাচুর সামনে পথ সভা করে ও ডেপুটেশন দেয়।তাদের অভিযোগ দীর্ঘ এক মাস আগে থেকে জানানো সত্বেও পৌরপতি সহ অনেকেই ছিল অনুপস্থিত, ফলে তারা পৌরসভার রিসিভ সেকশানে জমা করে তাদের ডেপুটেশন কপি। পাশাপাশি তারা বক্তব্যে হুশিয়ারিও দেয় তাদের দাবী ও নবদ্বীপে চলা দূর্নিতি বন্ধ না হলে আগামী দিনে তারা আরও বৃহত্তর আন্দোলনের পথে নামবে। পথ সভা চলাকালীন পাস দিয়ে নবদ্বীপের বিধায়ক, পৌরপতির গাড়ি গেলে তাকে লক্ষ্য করে dyfi কর্মিরা চোর চোর স্লোগান ও দেয়, পরে পুলিশ গিয়ে পরিস্থিতি সামাল দেয়।
