মালদা, ২৭ জুলাই। মশাবাহিত রোগ নিধনের ক্ষেত্রে বদ্ধ জলাশয়গুলিতে গাফ্ফি মাছ ছাড়ার উদ্যোগ নিলো ইংরেজবাজার পুরসভা কর্তৃপক্ষ। এমনকি ডেঙ্গু , ম্যালেরিয়ার মতোন রোগ নিধনের ক্ষেত্রেও এই গাফ্ফি মাছের উপকারিতা রয়েছে। সেদিকেই লক্ষ্য রেখে মালদা শহরের বিভিন্ন এলাকার বদ্ধ জলাশয়গুলিতে গাফ্ফি মাছ ছাড়ার প্রয়োজনীয় উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে সংশ্লিষ্ট পুরসভা কর্তৃপক্ষ। বুধবার সকালে ইংরেজবাজার পুরসভার চেয়ারম্যান কৃষ্ণেন্দু চৌধুরী উপস্থিতিতে মালদা শহরের রাজমহল রোড সংলগ্ন এলাকার একটি বদ্ধ পুকুরে কয়েকশো গাফ্ফি মাছ ছাড়া হয়। ইংরেজবাজার পুরসভার কাউন্সিলর শুভময় বসু জানিয়েছেন, মশাবাহিত রোগ নিধনের ক্ষেত্রে শহরের আনাচে-কানাচে যে সব জায়গায় বদ্ধ জলাশয় রয়েছে, সেখানে ধাপে ধাপে গাফ্ফি মাছ ছাড়ার উদ্যোগ গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে। এদিন পুরসভার চেয়ারম্যানের উদ্যোগে রাজমহল রোড সংলগ্ন এলাকার একটি বদ্ধ পুকুরে গাফ্ফি মাছ ছাড়ার কর্মসূচি নেওয়া হয়। বর্ষার মরশুমের মধ্যে মালদা শহরের যে সব জায়গায় বদ্ধ জলাশয় রয়েছে, সেখানেই গাফ্ফি মাছ ছেড়ে মশার লার্ভা নিধন করার উদ্যোগ নেওয়া হয়েছে।
Malda, July 27. The English Bazar Municipal Corporation authorities have taken the initiative to release gaffe fish in the closed water bodies to kill mosquito-borne diseases. This gaffi fish has benefits even in killing diseases like dengue and malaria. Keeping this in mind, the concerned municipal authorities have taken necessary steps to release gaffi fish in the closed water bodies in different areas of Malda city. Hundreds of gaffe fish were released in a closed pond in the area adjoining Rajmahal Road in Malda town in the presence of Englishbazar Municipal Corporation chairman Krishnendu Chowdhury on Wednesday morning. Englishbazar Municipal Councilor Shubhamoy Basu said that steps have been taken to release gaffe fish in a phased manner in the areas of Anache-Kanache in the city where there are closed water bodies in order to eradicate mosquito-borne diseases. On this day, at the initiative of the chairman of the municipal corporation, a program was taken to release gaffi fish in a closed pond in the area adjacent to Rajmahal Road. During the monsoon season, initiatives have been taken to kill mosquito larvae by releasing ghaffi fish in all the places of Malda town where there are closed water bodies.
