চাঁচোল: গ্রামীণ সড়ক বোঝা বড় দায়, পিচের চাদর উঠে বৃষ্টির জলে ভাসমান রাস্তা। হাঁটু সমান জল ভেঙে পারাপার স্থানীয় সহ নিত্যযাত্রীদের। এই দুর্ভোগের ছবি মালদা জেলা পরিষদের সভাধিপতির বাড়ির দুয়ারের। রাস্তা সংস্কারের দাবি তুলে পঞ্চায়েত ভোট বয়কটের হুঁশিয়ারি দিচ্ছেন এলাকাবাসী। মালদহের চাঁচলের খেজুরিয়া মোড় থেকে হাজাতপুর ভায়া হয়ে জগন্নাথপুর পর্যন্ত প্রায় ১৫ কিমি দৈর্ঘ্যের রাস্তা পাঁচটি পঞ্চায়েত এলাকার লক্ষাধিক মানুষের ভরসা। সেই রাস্তা দিয়ে যাতায়াত করতে ঘোর বিপদের মুখোমুখি হচ্ছেন এলাকাবাসী সহ নিত্যযাত্রীরা। রাস্তার মাঝখানে তৈরী হয়েছে বিশালআকার গর্ত।পিচের চাদর উঠে বেরিয়ে এসছে কঙ্কালসার চেহারা। এককথায় রাস্তার রুপ নিয়েছে মারণ ফাঁদের। সেই ফাঁদে পা দিয়ে নিত্যদিন ঘটছে দুর্ঘটনা। কখনও টোটো উল্টে কখন বাইক নিয়ন্ত্রণ হারিয়ে জখম হচ্ছেন চালক ও পথচারীরা। ঐ রুটের থাহাঘাটি গ্রামে ঢোকার আগে রাস্তায় তৈরী হয়েছে বিশালকার গর্ত। সেখানে সাঁতার কাটছে হাঁস। সেই ছবিও ধরা পড়েছে। ওই মারণফাঁদ দিয়ে থাহাঘাটি হাই মাদ্রাসায় যেতে পড়ুয়াদের ঝুঁকিপূর্ণ ভাবে যেতে হয়। রাস্তার ধারে আদর্শপল্লীতে অবস্থান করছে মালদা জেলা পরিষদের সভাধিপতির বাড়িও। সেখানেও বৃষ্টির জল জমে একাকার। এলাকাবাসী জানান,বারো মাস থাহাঘাটির রাস্তায় জল জমে থাকে। এই রাস্তা দিয়ে যাতায়াত লক্ষাধিক মানুষের। রাস্তার অবস্থা এতই খারাপ, পিচের চাদর উঠে গিয়ে তৈরী হয়েছে বড় বড় গর্ত। রোজ ঘটছে দুর্ঘটনা। এ প্রসঙ্গে মালদা জেলাপরিষদের সভাধিপতি রফিকুল হোসেন আশ্বাস দিয়ে বলেন, কয়েকবছর হল রাস্তা নির্মাণ হয়েছে। কিন্ত রাস্তা দ্রুত ভেঙে চুরমার হয়েছে। ঠিকাদারকে চিঠি করা হয়েছে। পাশাপাশি রাস্তা সংস্কারের জন্য রাজ্যস্তরে প্রস্তাব পাঠানো হয়েছে।

There is also rain water there. Residents said the streets of Thahaghati were waterlogged for twelve months. Millions of people travel on this road. The condition of the road is so bad, the sheet of the pitch has gone up and big holes have been created. Accidents happen every day. In this regard, Malda Zilla Parishad Chairman Rafiqul Hossain assured that the road has been constructed for a few years. But the road quickly broke down. A letter has been sent to the contractor. Besides, proposals have been sent to the state level for road improvement.
