মালদা: ইংলিশ বাজার পঞ্চায়েত সমিতির উদ্যোগে একাধিক ঢালাই রাস্তা,জলাধার এবং ড্রেনের আনুষ্ঠানিক শিলান্যাস করা হল। মহদীপুর অঞ্চলের মালো পাড়া,রায় পাড়া সহ একাধিক এলাকায় এই শিলান্যাস অনুষ্ঠান অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। উপস্থিত ছিলেন ইংলিশ বাজার ব্লকের বিডিও সৌগত চৌধুরী, ইংলিশ বাজার পঞ্চায়েত সমিতির সভাপতি লিপিকা বর্মন ঘোষ, মালদা জেলা পরিষদের শিক্ষা কর্মাধ্যক্ষ প্রতিভা সিংহ সহ অন্যান্য বিশিষ্ট জনেরা। জানা যায় ইংলিশ বাজার পঞ্চায়েত সমিতির উদ্যোগ প্রায় ১৫ লক্ষ টাকা ব্যয়ে একটি রাস্তা, দুটি ড্রেন এবং একটি জলাধারের আনুষ্ঠানিক শিলান্যাস করা হয়। এই বিষয়ে ইংলিশ বাজার ব্লকের বিডিও সৌগত চৌধুরী এবং ইংলিশ বাজার পঞ্চায়েত সমিতির সভাপতি লিপিকা বর্মন ঘোষ জানান, দীর্ঘদিনের দাবি ছিল এলাকাবাসীদের। ড্রেন এবং রাস্তা না থাকার কারণে অল্প বৃষ্টিতেই জলমগ্ন হয়ে যেত। জল কাদায় ভড়ে যেত গোটা এলাকা। ফলে গ্রামবাসীদের পাশাপাশি স্কুল কলেজের ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের নানা রকম সমস্যার মধ্যে পড়তে হতো। দীর্ঘদিনের দাবি মেনে অবশেষে ইংলিশ বাজার পঞ্চাশ সমিতির বরাদ্দ প্রায় ১৫ লক্ষ টাকা ব্যয়ে আজ একাধিক রাস্তা, ড্রেন এবং জলাধারের উদ্বোধন করা হল। এতে খুশি মহদীপুর অঞ্চলের মানুষজন।
Malda: The formal foundation stone of several welded roads, reservoirs and drains was laid at the initiative of The English Bazar Panchayat Samiti. The foundation stone laying ceremony was held in several areas including Malo Para, Roy Para in Mahadipur region. Bdo of English Bazar Block Saugata Chowdhury, English Bazar Panchayat Samiti President Lipika Barman Ghosh, Malda Zilla Parishad Education Officer Pratibha Singh and other dignitaries were present on the occasion. It is learnt that the initiative of English Bazar Panchayat Samiti was to formally lay the foundation stone of a road, two drains and a reservoir at a cost of around Rs 15 lakh. In this regard, BDO of English Bazar block Saugata Chowdhury and English Bazar Panchayat Samiti president Lipika Burman Ghosh said that it was a long-standing demand of the residents. Due to the absence of drains and roads, it would have been submerged in scanty rain. The whole area was covered with water. As a result, the villagers as well as the students of the school and college had to face various problems. Following a long-standing demand, a number of roads, drains and reservoirs were finally inaugurated today at a cost of around Rs 15 lakh allotted by the English Bazar Fifty Association. The people of The Mahadipur region are happy with this.
