কারবালা ময়দানে আয়োজন হলো মেলা ও লাঠি খেলার

মালদাঃ করোনার প্রকোপ কাটিয়ে দীর্ঘ দুই বছর পর আবারো মহরমের দশমীকে কেন্দ্র করে কারবালা ময়দানে আয়োজন হলো মেলা ও লাঠি খেলার। জানা যায় প্রত্যেক বছর ইসলামিক ১০ তারিখ তথা মহরমের দশমীতে ইংলিশ বাজার ব্লকের অন্তর্গত সাতটারি গ্রামের কারবালা ময়দানে আয়োজন করা হয়ে থাকে মেলা ও লাঠি খেলার। এই মেলার আয়োজন করে সাতটারি কারবালা কমিটি। প্রায় ৫ থেকে ৬ টি গ্রামের খেলোয়াড়রা ময়দানে উপস্থিত হন। কোনো প্রতিযোগীতা মূলক খেলা ছাড়াই অনুষ্ঠিত হয় এই লাঠি খেলার। সকল খেলোয়াড় টিমদেরই সর্বশেষে সান্তনা পুরষ্কার দেওয়া হয়ে থাকে কারবালা কমিটির তরফ থেকে। মেলা এবং খেলা দেখতে মালদার বিভিন্ন প্রান্ত থেকে এসে ভিড় জমান মানুষেরা। পাশাপাশি মেলার এবং লাঠি খেলার শৃঙ্খলা রক্ষার্থে হাজির ছিলো ইংলিশ বাজার থানার বিশাল পুলিশ বাহিনী। এদিন এই মেলায় বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন মালদা জেলা তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের সভাপতি আব্দুর রহিম বক্সি, ইংলিশ বাজার পৌরসভার চেয়ারম্যান কৃষ্ণেন্দু নারায়ন চৌধুরী, তৃণমূল শ্রমিক ইউনিয়নের জেলা সভাপতি শুভদীপ সান্যাল, জেলা পরিষদের কর্মাধ্যক্য প্রতিভা সিংহ, তৃণমূল ব্লক সভাপতি জুয়েল রহমান সিদ্দিকী সহ এলাকার বিশিষ্ট জনেরা।

Malda: After two long years of overcoming the outbreak of Corona, a fair and a stick game has been organized at Karbala Maidan on the occasion of The Dashami of Muharram. It is known that every year on the 10th of The Islamic Day i.e. on the tenth day of Muharram, a fair and stick game is organized at karbala maidan of Sattari village under English Bazar block. The fair was organized by the Karbala Committee. Players from around 5 to 6 villages arrive at the ground. This stick game is held without any competitive game. All the player teams are finally given the Santana Award by the Karbala Committee. People come from different parts of Malda to see the fair and the game. Besides, a large police force of English Bazar Police Station was present to maintain the discipline of the fair and lathi game. Malda District Trinamool Congress President Abdur Rahim Bakshi, English Bazar Municipality Chairman Krishnendu Narayan Chowdhury, Trinamool Sramik Union District President Shubhdeep Sanyal, Zila Parishad President Pratibha Singh, Trinamool Block President Jewel Rahman Siddiqui and other prominent people of the area were present as special guests.
