মালদা-মোটরবাইকের ধাক্কায় মৃত্যু হল এক সাইকেল আরোহীর। মর্মান্তিক পথ দুর্ঘটনাটি ঘটেছে মালদা জেলার হরিশ্চন্দ্রপুর থানার ভাজান্না এলাকায়। মৃত ওই সাইকেল আরোহীর নাম মেঘ মন্ডল বয়স ৪৫ বছর। পরিবার ও স্থানীয় সূত্রে জানা যায়, অন্যান্য দিনের মতো আজ সকালে ও বাড়ি থেকে বাজার করতে যাচ্ছিলেন সেই সময় হরিশ্চন্দ্রপুর থানার তেল জানা সুইজগেট এলাকায় একটি মোটর বাইক পেছন দিক থেকে ধাক্কা মারে। সেখানে গুরুতর আহত হন ওই সাইকেল আরোহী। স্থানীয়রা তৈরি করে উদ্ধার করে প্রথমে স্থানীয় স্বাস্থ্য কেন্দ্রে নিয়ে যায়। সেখান থেকে অবস্থার অবনতি হলে মালদা মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে আনে। মেডিকেল কলেজে চিকিৎসা চলাকালীনই মৃত্যু হয় ওই সাইকেল আরোহীর। মৃতদেহটি উদ্ধার করে ময়না তদন্তের জন্য মালদা মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে পাঠানো হয়। ঘটনায় শোকের ছায়া নেমে এসেছে মৃত সাইকেল আরোহীর পরিবারসহ গোটা গ্রামে।
A cyclist died after being hit by a motorcycle in Malda. The accident took place in Vajanna area of Harishchandrapur police station in Malda district. The deceased was identified as Megh Mandal, 45. According to family and local sources, like other days, he was going to market from home this morning when a motorbike hit him from behind in Tel Jana Sweezgate area of Harishchandrapur police station. The cyclist was seriously injured there. Locals rescued them and first took them to the local health centre. When his condition deteriorated, he was taken to Malda Medical College Hospital. The cyclist died while undergoing treatment at the medical college. The body was recovered and sent to Malda Medical College Hospital for autopsy. A pall of gloom descended on the entire village, including the family of the deceased cyclist.
