রাজেন্দ্র নাথ দত্ত:মুর্শিদাবাদ : জেলার ওপর দিয়ে বয়ে গিয়েছে ভাগীরথী বা গঙ্গা। গঙ্গারই হোক বা পড়শি দেশের সাথে সীমানা ভাগ করে নেওয়া পদ্মারই, মুর্শিদাবাদ জেলায় ইলিশ মাছের জোগান থাকে সবসময়ই। কিন্তু এবছর সেই নিয়মে দেখা দিয়েছে ব্যতিক্রম। অন্যান্য বছর চাহিদার সাথে তাল মিলিয়ে যোগান থাকলেও এবছর বর্ষা না হওয়ার কারণে ইলিশ মাছের জোগান নেই। ফলে মাথায় হাত ক্রেতা থেকে বিক্রেতা সকলের। মুর্শিদাবাদ মুলত সীমান্তবর্তী জেলা হিসেবে পরিচিত।
এই জেলার ওপর দিয়ে বয়ে গিয়েছে ভাগীরথী নদী। পড়শি বাংলাদেশের সাথে সীমা হিসেবে রয়েছে পদ্মা। ফলে সারা বছরই ইলিশের দেখা মেলে। তবে বেশি চাহিদা থাকে এই সময়। পাশাপাশি বর্ষা কাল হতেই ইলিশ মাছের রপ্তানিও বৃদ্ধি পায়। তবে এবছর এখনও সেই ভাবে দেখা নেই বৃষ্টির। ফলে ইলিশ মাছের জোগানে ঘাটতি দেখা দিয়েছে জেলাতে। বাজারে দেখা নেই পর্যাপ্ত পরিমাণ ইলিশ মাছের। বাঙালির প্রিয় খাদ্য তালিকায় থাকে ইলিশের বিভিন্ন পদ। স্বভাবতই ঠিক মতো ইলিশ না পেয়ে মুখ ভার খাদ্য রসিক বাঙালির। যদিও বাজারে ইলিশের জোগান পর্যাপ্ত বলে দাবি করেছেন কিছু মাছ ব্যবসায়ী। তাঁদের বক্তব্য, সাগরের ইলিশ ঢুকছে জেলায়। দামও বেশ কম। ৩০০-৪০০ গ্রাম ওজনের ইলিশে ৪০০ টাকা প্রতি কেজিতে পাওয়া যাচ্ছে। ৪০০-৬০০ গ্রাম ইলিশের দাম ৭০০-৮০০ টাকা করে। ৮০০ গ্রাম থেকে ১ কেজি ১২০০ টাকা। এর বড়টা তেমন পাওয়া যায় না। বড় সাইজ মানে পৌঁনে ২ কেজি-২ কেজি ওজনের দাম ২ হাজার টাকা কেজি। তবে ভোজন রসিকদের মতে এই ইলিশের স্বাদ পদ্মার বা গন্ধ গঙ্গার ইলিশের মতো নয়। তবে পদ্মা বা গঙ্গার ইলিশ যখন নেই তাই সাগরের ইলিশেই ভরসা করতে হচ্ছে ক্রেতাদের।

According to them, the hilsa of the sea is entering the district. The price is also very low. Hilsa weighing 300-400 grams is available at Tk 400 per kg. The price of 400-600 grams of hilsa is Tk 700-800. 800 grams to 1 kg 1200 taka. The big one is not available. The big size means that the price of 2 kg-2 kg weight is Tk 2,000 per kg. However, according to the food lovers, the taste of this hilsa is not like the hilsa of the Padma or the smell of the Ganges.
