আবারও মালদা জেলার জয়জয়কার


সুমিত ঘোষ,মালদা: আবারও মালদা জেলার জয়জয়কার। রাজ্য অ্যাথলেটিক্সে মালদার ঝুলিতে চারটি পদক। সম্প্রতি কলকাতার যুবভারতী স্টেডিয়ামে আয়োজিত ৭০ তম রাজ্য অ্যাথলেটিক্স মিটে জেলার দখলে তিনটি সোনা এবং একটি সিলভার। ১০ কিলোমিটার রান প্রতিযোগিতায় রাজ্যে প্রথম হয়েছেন তিলক মন্ডল। তার পাশাপাশি পাঁচ কিলোমিটার রানে রাজ্যে দ্বিতীয় হয়েছেন তিলক। অন্যদিকে কলকাতার সাই ক্যাম্পের মাঠে আয়োজিত অনূর্ধ্ব ১৬ মহিলা বিভাগে ৩০০ মিটার ওয়াকিং রেসে রেকর্ড করে রাজ্যের মধ্যে প্রথম স্থান দখল করেছেন সপ্তমী সিংহ। তার পাশাপাশি অনূর্ধ্ব ১৮ পুরুষ বিভাগে ৩০০ মিটার রানে প্রথম হয়েছে বলরাম মন্ডল। জেলার হয়ে তারা সোনা এবং সিলভার জিতে নিয়ে আসায় খুশি তাদের কোচ অমিতাভ রায়। এই বিষয়ে তাদের কোচ অমিতাভ রায় জানান, বিগত কয়েক বছর ধরে মালদা শহরের জাহাজ ফিল্ড মাঠে সকাল বিকাল প্রশিক্ষণ দিয়ে চলেছেন তিনি। জেলার আইহো, গাজোল, বুলবুলি সহ বিভিন্ন প্রান্তের দুঃস্থ প্রতিভাদের তুলে নিয়ে এসে নিজের হাতে তৈরি করছেন। যা সম্পূর্ণ বিনামূল্যে। তার হাত ধরেই রাজ্য এবং জাতীয় স্তরে খেলার সুযোগ করে নিয়েছে অনেকেই। সম্প্রতি কলকাতায় হয়ে যাওয়া অ্যাথলেটিক্স মিটে মালদার হয়ে তিনটি সোনা এবং একটি সিলভার জিতে এসেছে তার তিন ছাত্র। আগামীতে তার লক্ষ্য তার হাতে তৈরি ছাত্র-ছাত্রীরা জাতীয় স্তরে অংশ নিয়ে আরো বেশি পদক নিয়ে আসবে, মালদার জন্য। আগামীতে পূর্বাঞ্চল মিট, পাটনা এবং ইউথ ন্যাশনাল মিট রয়েছে। ইতিমধ্যে এই সকল প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশ নেওয়ার জন্য তৈরি তার ছাত্রছাত্রীরা। তিনি আরো জানান মালদায় মাঠের খুব প্রয়োজন। তিনি নিজে উদ্যোগ নিয়ে জাহাজ ফিল্ড এলাকায় একটি মাঠ তৈরি করেছেন। তবে তিনি জানান প্রশাসনিকভাবে বা মালদা জেলা ক্রীড়া সংস্থার পক্ষ থেকে সহযোগিতা মিললে মালদা জেলা আগামীতে রাজ্য এবং জাতীয় স্তরে খেলার মান উন্নয়নে ব্যাপক সাড়া ফেলবে। ইতিমধ্যে এই বিষয়ে মালদা জেলা ক্রীড়া সংস্থার সম্পাদক কৃষ্ণেন্দু নারায়ণ চৌধুরীর সহযোগিতা এবং আশ্বাস পেয়েছেন তিনি। অন্যদিকে এই বিষয়ে সোনা জয়ী সাহাপুরের যুবক তিলক মন্ডল জানান, গত ৪ ও ৬ আগস্ট কলকাতার যুবভারতী স্টেডিয়ামে পাঁচ কিলোমিটার দৌড়ে দ্বিতীয় এবং দশ কিলোমিটার রানে প্রথম হয়েছে সে। তার পাশাপাশি ১৫ই আগস্ট উপলক্ষে আলিপুরদুয়ারের বির পাড়ায় ১২ কিলোমিটার রানে প্রথম হয়েছে সে। নেপাল, ভুটান, আসানসোল সহ বিভিন্ন এলাকার প্রায় ১২০০ জন প্রতিযোগী অংশ নিয়েছিল।

Balaram Mondal also won the first position in the 300-meter run in the under-18 men’s category. Their coach Amitabh Roy is happy that they have won gold and silver for the district. Their coach Amitava Roy said that for the last few years, he has been training in the morning and afternoon at the Jahaj Field ground in Malda city. He is picking up the distressed talents from different parts of the district including Aiho, Gajol, Bulbuli and making them with his own hands. Which is completely free. His students are already ready to take part in these competitions. He also said that there is a dire need for a field in Malda. He himself has built a field in the ship field area with the initiative. He, however, said that if there is cooperation from the Malda District Sports Association or administratively, Malda district will have a huge response to improve the quality of sports at the state and national level in the future. He has already received the cooperation and assurance of Malda District Sports Association Secretary Krishnendu Narayan Chowdhury in this regard. On the other hand, Tilak Mandal, a young man from Shahapur, who won the gold, said that on August 4 and 6, he ran the second in the five-kilometer run at the Yuba Bharati Stadium in Kolkata and the first in the 10 km run. Around 1200 contestants from different regions including Nepal, Bhutan, Asansol participated.
