রাজেন্দ্র নাথ দত্ত:মুর্শিদাবাদ : বিশিষ্ট বিজ্ঞান সাধক ও সাহিত্য আচার্য্য রামেন্দ্র সুন্দর ত্রিবেদীর ১৫৯ তম জন্মদিন পালন করা হল যথাযথ মর্যাদার সাথে। সরকারী ভাবে পালিত না হলেও বেসরকারি ভাবে সোমবার পালিত হচ্ছে মুর্শিদাবাদ জেলার গর্ব আচার্য রামেন্দ্র সুন্দর ত্রিবেদীর জন্মদিনের অনুষ্ঠান। এদিন সকালে কান্দী কোর্ট রোডে রামেন্দ্র সুন্দর ত্রিবেদী মর্মর মুর্ত্তিতে মাল্যদান করেন রামেন্দ্র অনুরাগীবৃন্দ ও জেমো রামেন্দ্র স্মৃতি পাঠাগারের সদস্যরা। পরে তাঁর স্কুল কান্দী রাজ উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়ে মাল্যদান করা হয় রামের সুন্দর স্মৃতি পাঠাগারের পক্ষ থেকে। পরবর্তীতে জেমো নতুনবাড়ি সুতিকা গৃহ ও রামেন্দ্র সুন্দর ত্রিবেদীর জন্মভিটেতে অনুষ্ঠান মধ্যে দিয়ে তাঁকে স্মরণ করা হয়।পাশাপাশি, তাঁর স্মৃতিতে তৈরি হওয়া কান্দী আচার্য রামেন্দ্র সুন্দর স্মৃতি সংগ্রহশালা তে ছোট্ট অনুষ্ঠানের মাধ্যমে এই দিনটিকে বিশেষ ভাবে পালন করা হয়। রামেন্দ্র সুন্দর বিজ্ঞান ও দার্শনিক হিসেবে পরিচিত ছিলেন। রামেন্দ্রসুন্দর ত্রিবেদীর চতুর্থ প্রজন্মের বংশধর সৌম্যসুন্দর ত্রিবেদী বলেন, যে মর্যাদা পাওয়ার দরকার ছিল তা রামেন্দ্রসুন্দর ত্রিবেদী পাননি। তিনি আমাদের মুর্শিদাবাদ জেলার গর্ব, বাংলার গর্ব। এখনো তাঁকে নিয়ে বিশেষ কোনো উদ্যোগ নিলে আমরা পরিবারের পক্ষ থেকে সহযোগিতা করব। প্রতিবছর কান্দীর বিভিন্ন গ্রন্থাগার ও রামেন্দ্র অনুরাগীরা দিনটি পালন করেণ। জেমো নতুন বাড়িতেও দিনটি পালন করা হয়। যদিও সরকারী ভাবে বছরে ৫২জন মনিষীর জন্মদিন পালন করা হলেও রামেন্দ্র সুন্দর ত্রিবেদী কোনও জন্মদিন পালন করা হয় না। সরকারী ভাবে এই দিনটি পালন করার দাবি জানানো হয়েছে।পাশাপাশি জেলার বহু মানুষ এই দিনটি ভুলতে বসেছেন, আগে জাঁকজমকের সাথে দিনটি পালন করা হলেও আজ আর হয় না। ১২৭১ সালে ৫ই ভাদ্র (ইংরেজি ২২শে অগাস্ট ১৮৬৪) খ্রীষ্টাব্দে আজকের দিনে জেমো ত্রিবেদী পরিবারের গোবিন্দ সুন্দর ও চন্দ্র কামিনীর ঘরে জন্মগ্রহণ করেছিলেন রামেন্দ্র সুন্দর। বাংলা ভাষার একজন স্বনামধন্য বিজ্ঞানী ও লেখক ছিলেন। পূর্বে বাংলা ভাষায় বিজ্ঞান চর্চার জন্য উপযুক্ত পরিবেশ ছিল না। উপযুক্ত বইয়ের অভাবই ছিল এর মূল কারণ। তিনি প্রচুর গ্রন্থ ও প্রবন্ধ রচনা করেন এবং বক্তৃতার মাধ্যমে বাঙালীকে বিজ্ঞান চর্চায় অনুপ্রাণিত করেন।তাঁর কোন মৌলিক গবেষণা বা আবিষ্কার নেই, তবে তিনি মূলত লেখনীর মাধ্যমেই একজন বিজ্ঞানী ও শাস্ত্রজ্ঞের মর্যাদা লাভ করেছেন। বিশুদ্ধ বিজ্ঞান ছাড়াও তিনি দর্শন ও সংস্কৃত শাস্ত্রের দুর্বোধ্য বিষয়গুলো সহজ বাংলায় পাঠকের উপযোগী করে তুলে ধরেন। জন্মসূত্রে তিনি বাঙালী না হয়েও আজীবন বাংলা ভাষার চর্চা করে গেছেন। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় জীবনের সূচনার আগেই ১৮৭৮ সালে মাত্র ১৪ বছর বয়সে জেমো রাজপরিবারের নরেন্দ্র নারায়ণের কনিষ্ঠ কন্যা ইন্দুপ্রভা দেবীর সঙ্গে তাঁর বিয়ে হয়। শৈশবকাল থেকেই রামেন্দ্রসুন্দর মেধাবী ছিলেন। তিনি ১৮৮১ সালে কলকাতা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের এনট্রান্স পরীক্ষায় প্রথম স্থান অধিকার করেন এবং ২৫ টাকা বৃত্তি লাভ করেন। ১৮৮৩ সালে প্রেসিডেন্সি কলেজ থেকে এফএ পরীক্ষায় দ্বিতীয় স্থান অধিকার করেন এবং একটি স্বর্ণপদক ও বৃত্তি পান। একই কলেজ থেকে ১৮৮৬ সালে বিজ্ঞানে অনার্সসহ বি.এ পরীক্ষায় প্রথম স্থান অধিকার করেন। ১৮৮৭ খ্রীষ্টাব্দে এম.এ. পরীক্ষায় বিজ্ঞানশাস্ত্রে স্বর্ণপদক ও পুরস্কারসহ প্রথম স্থান পান এবং ১৮৮৮ খ্রীষ্টাব্দে পদার্থবিদ্যা ও রসায়নে প্রেমচাঁদ রায়চাঁদ বৃত্তি পান।১৮৯২ খ্রীষ্টাব্দে রিপন কলেজে পদার্থ বিজ্ঞান ও রসায়নশাস্ত্রের অধ্যাপক হন। পরে প্রথমে ছয় মাসের জন্য অস্থায়ী অধ্যক্ষ এবং শেষে স্থায়ী অধ্যক্ষ হন। ২৩শে জৈষ্ঠ ১৩২৬ সালে ইংরেজি ৬ই জুন ১৯১৯ সালে রামেন্দ্র সুন্দর ত্রিবেদী মৃত্যু হয়।

Murshidabad: The 159th birth anniversary of eminent science scholar and literary acharya Ramendra Sundar Trivedi was celebrated with due solemnity. Though not officially celebrated, the birthday celebrations of Acharya Ramendra Sundar Trivedi, the pride of Murshidabad district, are being celebrated privately on Monday. Ramendra’s fans and members of The Jemo Ramendra Memorial Library paid floral tributes at the Ramendra Sundar Trivedi Mormor Murti on Kandi Court Road this morning. Later, his school, Kandi Raj High School, was garlanded by ram’s beautiful memory library. Later, he was remembered with ceremonies at Jemo’s New House, Sutika Griha and Ramendra Sundar Trivedi’s birthplace. Apart from this, this day is celebrated in a special way with a small ceremony at the Kandi Acharya Ramendra Sundar Smriti Sangrahalaya built in his memory. Ramendra was known as a beautiful scientist and philosopher. Soumya Sundar Trivedi, a fourth-generation descendant of Ramendrasundar Trivedi, said that Ramendrasundar Trivedi did not get the status that he needed to get. He is the pride of our Murshidabad district, the pride of Bengal. We will cooperate on behalf of the family if any special initiative is taken with him yet. The day is celebrated every year by various libraries of Kandi and ramendra devotees. The day is also celebrated at The Gemo New Home. Although officially, the birthdays of 52 manishis are celebrated annually, no birthday of Ramendra Sundar Trivedi is celebrated. It has been demanded to celebrate this day officially. Besides, many people of the district have forgotten this day, earlier the day was celebrated with pomp, but today it is not. Ramendra Sundar was born on 5th Bhadra (22nd August 1864) in 1271 to Govind Sundar and Chandra Kamini of the Family of Jemo Trivedi. He was a renowned scientist and writer of Bengali language. Earlier, there was no suitable environment for the practice of science in Bengali language. The main reason for this was the lack of proper books. He wrote many books and essays and inspired Bengalis to practice science through lectures. He has no original research or discoveries, but he has gained the status of a scientist and scholar mainly through writing. In addition to pure science, he presented the incomprehensible subjects of philosophy and Sanskrit scriptures for the reader in simple Bangla. Although he was not a Bengali by birth, he practiced the Bengali language throughout his life. He was married to Induprabha Devi, the youngest daughter of Narendra Narayan of the Gemo royal family, in 1878, before the beginning of his university life. Ramendrasundar was brilliant since childhood. He stood first in the entrance examination of The University of Calcutta in 1881 and received a scholarship of Rs. 25. In 1883, he stood second in the FA examination from Presidency College and received a gold medal and scholarship. From the same college, in 1886, he secured the first position in the BA examination with honors in science. In 1887, M.A. In 1888, he got the first position with a gold medal and award in science and in 1888, he received the Premchand Raichand Scholarship in Physics and Chemistry. In 1892, he became a professor of physics and chemistry at Ripon College. Later, he first became the temporary principal for six months and finally the permanent principal. Ramendra Sundar Trivedi died on 6 June 1919 in English, on the 23rd day of the month of Jyestha in Bengal in 1326.
