মালদা: ভাঙ্গনের নয়া মুখ, এবার নদী ভাঙ্গন কালিন্দ্রী নদীতে। ভাঙ্গনে তলিয়ে গেলো প্রায় ২০ টির ও বেশি বাড়ি সহ গ্রামে ঢোকার একমাত্র রাস্তা। এমনি দৃশ্য দেখা দিলো মালদার ইংলিশ বাজার ব্লকের অন্তর্গত ফুলবাড়িয়া গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতের পুরাতন নঘরিয়ার নাসপাড়ায়। এলাকায় প্রায় তিন শতাধিকেরও বেশী পরিবারের বসবাস। কোনক্রমে বাগানে দিন কাটাচ্ছেন তারা। বর্তমানে ত্রিপল দিয়ে তৈরী করা অস্থায়ী ছাউনীই তাদের আশ্রয়। লাগাতার ভাঙ্গনের ফলে প্রায় 20 টির ও বেশি বাড়ি তলিয়ে যাওয়ায় আতঙ্কে রয়েছেন এলাকাবাসি। এলাকাবাসীদের অভিযোগ, প্রায় প্রত্যেক বছরই দেখা দেয় এই নদী ভাঙ্গন কিন্তু আগের বারের তুলনায় প্রায় ৫০ মিটারের ও বেশী জমী বাড়ি তলিয়ে গেছে নদি গর্ভে। এলাকায় প্রশাসন কর্তাদের দেখা নেই। ভাঙ্গনের ভয়ে রাতের ঘুম উড়েছে। নদীতে কোনো বাঁধ নেই। যত দিন যাচ্ছে তত বিশাল আকার ধারণ করছে কালিন্দ্রী। বাড়ি তলিয়ে গেছে খাবার নেই। গ্রামের একমাত্র রাস্তা যা সম্পূর্ণ তলিয়ে যাচ্ছে ভাঙ্গনে। অন্য দিকে ওই এলাকার গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েত সদস্যার স্বামী আব্দুল আরেব জানান, এলাকার সমস্যা নিয়ে বহুবার ব্লক প্রশাসনকে জানানো হয়েছে। তারা এসে দেখেও গিয়েছেন কিন্তু কোনো সুরাহা হয়নি। এলাকাবাসী আমার কাছে এসে কান্নাকাটি করেন। আমরা যতটা পারছি পাশে থাকার চেষ্টা করছি। আমি ব্লক প্রশাসনকে অনুরোধ করবো দ্রুত সমস্যা সমাধানের জন্য।

On the other hand, Abdul Areb, the husband of a gram panchayat member of the area, said that the block administration has been informed many times about the problems in the area. They came and saw it, but there was no solution. The locals came to me and cried. We’re trying to be on the side as much as we can. I would request the block administration to resolve the issue quickly.
