রাক্ষুসে গঙ্গা এবছর বাড়িছাড়া করল চরের বাসিন্দাদের

মালদাঃ মানিকচকের গঙ্গা নদীর পাড়ে অবস্থিত নারায়নপুর চর। প্রায় সাড়ে পাঁচশো পরিবার এই চড়ে বসবাস করতেন বলে দাবি চরবাসীর। তবে রাক্ষুসে গঙ্গা এবছর তাদের বাড়িছাড়া করতেই সমস্তই গিলে খাচ্ছে বলে জানাচ্ছেন চরের বাসিন্দারা। এলাকায় বাড়িঘর বিদ্যালয়ের সর্বত্রই গঙ্গা ইতিমধ্যেই গিলে খেয়েছে। আর এই বর্তমানের যে ভাঙ্গন তাতে বহু পরিবার বাড়িঘর হারিয়ে ফেলেছে। এই পরিস্থিতিতে কয়েকশো পরিবার ইতিমধ্যেই এলাকা ছেড়েছেন।নদীপথে মূল্যবান বাড়ির সামগ্রী নিয়ে মানিকচক ঘাট এলাকায় আশ্রয় নিতে হাজির হয়েছেন। তবে এত করুন পরিস্থিতি থাকলেও প্রশাসন যেন নির্বিকার সরকারি আমলাদের কোন ভূমিকা নেই এমনই অভিযোগ ভাঙ্গন কবলিত পরিবারগুলির। শুধু তাই নয় তাদের খোঁজ নেন না মন্ত্রী সংসদ ও বিধায়ক। চার দিন ধরে তারা এই অবস্থাতেই মানিকচকের গঙ্গার ঘাটে রয়েছেন নৌকা ভাড়া করে নিজের পয়সা খরচ করে বাড়ির যতটুকু জিনিসপত্র বাকি রয়েছে বেঁচে আছে সে সমস্ত জিনিসপত্র নিয়ে এসে বাণিজ্য ভঙ্গের ঘাটে ধরা অস্থায়ীভাবে মাথা গুজার জায়গা করছে। পয়সাও নেই তাদের খাবার যা যতটুকু ছিল শেষ হয়ে যাচ্ছে পানীয় জলের ব্যবস্থা নেই গঙ্গার জল খেয়ে থাকতে হচ্ছে পরিবারগুলোকে।
