নবদ্বীপ থেকে গোপাল বিশ্বাসের রিপোর্টঃ নবদ্বীপের নিত্য সমস্যাগুলির অন্যতম হলো শব্দদূষণ। আর উৎসবের মরশুমেতো তা আরও ভয়ঙ্কর হয়ে ওঠে। লক্ষ্মীপুজোতে চলবে মাত্রাতিরিক্ত শব্দবাজির তান্ডব। ভারতীয় বিজ্ঞান ও যুক্তিবাদী সমিতি’র নবদ্বীপ শাখার পক্ষ থেকে আজ নবদ্বীপ থানায় সশরীরে ডেপুটেশন দেওয়া হয়। নবদ্বীপ পৌরসভা এবং মাননীয়া এসপির কাছে অনলাইনে ডেপুটেশনের সেই কপি পাঠানো হয়। আগামীকাল চলবে টোটো করে সারা নবদ্বীপ জুড়ে শব্দবাজি ফাটানোর বিরুদ্ধে প্রচার অভিযান। ভারতীয় বিজ্ঞান ও যুক্তিবাদী সমিতি’র নবদ্বীপ শাখার সম্পাদক বলেন, ” শব্দদূষণ নবদ্বীপের একটি নিত্য সমস্যা। উৎসবের মরশুমে এই সমস্যা আরও বহুগুন বেড়ে যায়। বাজি পোড়ানোর ফলে বিভিন্ন রাসায়নিক দ্রব্য বাতাসে মিশে যাওয়া, শব্দদৈত্যের হুঙ্কার, তার পাশাপাশি দিবারাত্রি উচ্চস্বরে চলে ডিজে মাইকের গান। এর বিরুদ্ধে সরকারের তরফ থেকে কার্যকরী কোনো ভূমিকা আমরা দেখতে পাইনা। আমাদের রাজ্যে তথা দেশে দূষণ রোধে অনেক কড়া আইন আছে। বিভিন্ন পর্যদ বা ট্রাইবুনাল আছে। কিন্তু সেগুলোর উপযুক্ত প্রয়োগের বড়ই অভাব, কোন এক অদৃশ্য কারণে। এই দায়িত্বজ্ঞানহীন আচরণের মোকাবিলার বদলে, সরকার আর্থিক সাহায্য দিয়ে এই বিষয়গুলোকে প্রশ্রয় দিচ্ছে সংকীর্ণ রাজনৈতিক স্বার্থে। অতএব, প্রতিটি শুভবুদ্ধিসম্পন্ন সচেতন মানুষের উচিৎ এ ব্যাপারে প্রতিবাদে সোচ্চার হওয়া। ” শব্দবাজির কারখানা চালু রেখে দূষণকে রোখা যাবে না। দূষণ রুখতে হলে সরকারকে শব্দবাজির উৎপাদন যাতে বন্ধ হয় সেই ব্যবস্থা নিতে হবে। দূষণ প্রতিরোধে সরকার ও দূষণ পর্ষদ কার্যকরী কোনো ব্যবস্থা নেয় না। সাধারণ মানুষকেও দূষণ সম্পর্কে সচেতন হতে হবে। নচেৎ দূষণমুক্ত সুস্থ সমাজ গঠন অসম্ভব।

There will be excessive noise in Lakshmi Puja. On behalf of the Nabadwip branch of the Indian Science and Rationalist Association, deputation was given to Nabadwip Police Station today. The copy of the deputation was sent online to Nabadwip Municipality and Hon’ble SP. Tomorrow, a campaign will be launched against the bursting of noise all over Nabadwip. “Noise pollution is a constant problem in Nabadwip,” said the secretary of the Nabadwip chapter of the Indian Association of Science and Rationalists. During the festive season, this problem increases manifold. As a result of the burning of the bet, various chemicals are mixed in the air, the sound of the monster, as well as the song of DJ Mike goes loud day and night. We don’t see any effective role from the government against it. There are many strict laws in our state and the country to prevent pollution. There are different courts or tribunals. But there is a great lack of proper application of them, for some invisible reason. Instead of dealing with this irresponsible behaviour, the government is patronising these issues with financial support for narrow political interests. Therefore, every well-informed person should raise his voice in protest in this regard. Pollution cannot be stopped by keeping the noise factory running. To prevent pollution, the government has to take steps to stop the production of noise. The government and the pollution board do not take any effective measures to prevent pollution. Common people should also be aware of pollution. Otherwise, it is impossible to build a pollution-free healthy society.
