মালদা-ফের সততার নজির গড়লেন মালদা জেলা ট্রাফিক পুলিশ। হারিয়ে যাওয়া ঘন্টা খানেকের মোবাইল ফোন গ্রাহকের রাতে ফিরিয়ে দিলেন জেলা ট্রাফিক পুলিশ। ঘটনাটি ঘটেছে মালদা শহরের কৃষ্ণপল্লী সাবওয়ে গেট ৩৪নম্বর জাতীয় সড়ক এলাকায়। জেলা ট্রাফিক পুলিশ সূত্রে জানা যায় মালদা শহরের কৃষ্ণপল্লী এলাকার বাসিন্দা উৎপল দত্ত নিজের বাইকে করে কৃষ্ণ পল্লী থেকে অনুষ্ঠান বাড়ির উদ্দেশ্যে যাচ্ছিলেন নিজের বাইকে করে। যাওয়ার সময় শুক্রবার সন্ধ্যায় তার মোবাইল ফোনটি সাবওয়ে গেট ৩৪ নম্বর জাতীয় সড়কের পাশে পড়ে যায়। সেই সময় কর্মরত ট্রাফিক পুলিশ ও সিভিক ভলেন্টিয়াররা ডিউটি করার সময় ঐ মোবাইল ফোনটি তাদের নজরে আসে। ফোনটি তুলে রাখা হয় কৃষ্ণপল্লী জেলা ট্রাফিক পুলিশের অফিসে। কিছুক্ষণ পরে মোবাইল ফোন হারিয়ে যাওয়া ব্যক্তি ট্রাফিক পুলিশের সাথে যোগাযোগ করে তার মোবাইল ফোন হারিয়ে যাওয়া সম্পর্কে। তখনই ট্রাফিক পুলিশ হারিয়ে যাওয়া ফোনটি ওই ব্যক্তির হাতে তুলে দেয়। হারিয়ে যাওয়া মোবাইল ফোনের মালিক উৎপল দত্ত জানান, যে এখন যে কোন জিনিস হারিয়ে গেলে পাওয়ার আশাটা ভুলে যেতে হয়। কিন্তু ট্রাফিক পুলিশ এই মোবাইলটি ফোনটি ফিরিয়ে দিয়ে সততার নজির গড়লেন। আমি মালদা জেলা ট্রাফিক পুলিশকে অনেক অনেক ধন্যবাদ জানাই আমাকে ফোনটি ফিরিয়ে দেওয়ার জন্য। এই বিষয়ে জেলা ট্রাফিক পুলিশ অমিত পোদ্দার জানান – যে আমরা মালদার কৃষ্ণপল্লী এলাকায় ডিউটি করার সময় একটি মোবাইল ফোন পড়ে থাকতে দেখি। সঙ্গে সঙ্গে সেই ফোনটি তুলে আমাদের অফিসে রেখে দিই। কিছুক্ষণের মধ্যেই হারিয়ে যাওয়া মোবাইল ফোনের মালিক আমাদের কাছে আছে এবং মোবাইল ফোন হারিয়ে যাওয়া সম্পর্কে জানায়। সঙ্গে সঙ্গে আমরা আমাদের ঊর্ধ্বতন কর্তৃপক্ষকে বিষয়টি জানাই। এরপর ঊর্ধ তন কর্তৃপক্ষের কথা মতো সঠিক পরিচয় নিয়ে মোবাইল ফোনটি গ্রাহকের হাতে তুলে দিই।

After some time, the person who lost the mobile phone contacted the traffic police about the loss of his mobile phone. The traffic police then handed over the missing phone to the man. Utpal Dutta, the owner of the lost mobile phone, said that now if anything is lost, the hope of getting it has to be forgotten. But the traffic police set an example of honesty by returning this mobile phone. I thank the Malda district traffic police very much for returning the phone to me. District traffic police Amit Poddar said, “We saw a mobile phone lying on duty in Krishnapalli area of Malda. I immediately picked up the phone and left it in our office. Soon, the owner of the missing mobile phone is with us and informs us about the missing mobile phone. We immediately reported the matter to our higher authorities. After that, I handed over the mobile phone to the customer with the correct identity as per the words of the higher authorities.
