মন্ত্রী সাবিনা ইয়াসমিনের উদ্যোগে মালদার রেশম চাষ ও শিল্পের উন্নয়ণ

মালদাঃ অবশেষে মন্ত্রী সাবিনা ইয়াসমিনের উদ্যোগে মালদার রেশম চাষ ও শিল্পের উন্নয়ণে প্রায় ৭ কোটি টাকা পেল জেলা রেশম বিভাগ । মালদা জেলার রেশম শিল্পকে চাঙ্গা করতে এর আগে কয়েকবার মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর দ্বারস্থ হয়েছিলেন মোথাবাড়ির বিধায়ক ও মন্ত্রী সাবিনা ইয়াসমিন। জেলার বিখ্যাত রেশম চাষ সারা দেশের মধ্যে বিশেষ স্থান দখল করে আছে । বাম আমল থেকেই এই শিল্প সরকারি অবহেলার শিকার হয়ে পড়েছে। এর আগে বাম সরকারের একাধিক ভ্রান্ত নীতির ফলে বিভিন্ন সমস্যায় জর্জরিত মালদা তথা কালিয়াচকের ঐতিহ্যবাহী রেশম চাষ। সংকটের মুখে থাকা রেশম চাষকে বাঁচাতে সেই আমলে রাজনৈতিক উদ্যোগের দাবি উঠলেও গুরুত্ব দেওয়া হয়নি । মোথবাড়ির বিধায়ক ও মন্ত্রী সাবিনা ইয়াসমিন শেষ পর্যন্ত উদ্যোগ নেওয়ায় খুশি চাষি মহলে ।

Malda: Finally, at the initiative of Minister Sabina Yasmin, the district silk department has received about Tk 7 crore for the development of silk cultivation and industry in Malda. Mothabari MLA and minister Sabina Yasmin had approached the chief minister several times in the past to revive the silk industry in Malda district. The famous sericulture of the district occupies a special place in the whole country. The industry has been a victim of government neglect since the Left rule. Earlier, due to several wrong policies of the Left government, the traditional silk cultivation of Malda and Kaliachak was plagued by various problems. The demand for political initiatives to save the silk cultivation, which was facing crisis, was not given importance during that period. Mothbari MLA and minister Sabina Yasmin is happy that she has finally taken the initiative.

মালদায় প্রায় ৬৫ হাজার পরিবার রেশমচাষের সঙ্গে যুক্ত । জেলার ১১ টি ব্লকে রেশম চাষ হয়ে থাকে। প্রায় ৫ লক্ষ মানুষ রেশম শিল্পের সঙ্গে পরোক্ষভাবে যুক্ত থেকে জীবনযাপন করছেন। জেলার অর্থনৈতিক শক্তি অনেকটাই রেশম শিল্পের উপর নির্ভরশীল। কিন্তু গণি খানের স্বপ্নের রেশম সিটি আজ চূড়ান্ত অবহেলার শিকার । মালদার প্রায় কয়েক লক্ষ মানুষ আজ রেশম চাষ থেকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেওয়ার জন্য অপেক্ষা করছেন । বিকল্পের সন্ধানে তাঁরা মরিয়া হয়ে চেষ্টা চালাচ্ছেন। কিন্তু তাঁদের টিকিয়ে রাখতে কোনো উদ্যোগ নেওয়া হচ্ছে না বলে অভিযোগ। রাজ্য সরকার নিজের সামর্থ্য অনুযায়ী অনুদান দিয়ে মালদা জেলা সহ রাজ্যের রেশম শিল্পকে বাঁচিয়ে রাখার চেষ্টা করছে। কিন্তু কেন্দ্রীয় রেশম পর্ষদ হাত গুটিয়ে নিয়েছে বলে অভিযোগ । রেশমচাষিদের বিভিন্ন দাবি দাওয়া নিয়ে এর আগে মোথাবাড়ির বিধায়ক ও মন্ত্রী সাবিনা ইয়াসমিন মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর দ্বারস্থ হয়েছেন । জেলার রেশম শিল্পকে চাঙ্গা করতে নানা পদক্ষেপের জন্য তিনি মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর কাছে দাবি জানিয়েছেন। শেষ পর্যন্ত মন্ত্রী সাবিনা ইয়াসমিনের উদ্যোগে মালদার রেশম শিল্পের উন্নয়নে প্রায় ৭ কোটি টাকা পেল জেলা রেশম বিভাগ । এতে খুশি মন্ত্রী সাবিনা ইয়াসমিন । তিনি মুখ্যমন্ত্রী ও রেশম কমিশনারকে ধন্যবাদ জানিয়েছেন । তবে পলু পোকা চাষ ও রেশম গুটি উৎপাদন দিনের পর দিন কমতে থাকায় উদ্বেগ প্রকাশ করেছেন ব্যবসায়ী থেকে সাধারন চাষি ।

Around 65,000 families in Malda are engaged in sericulture. Sericulture is done in 11 blocks of the district. About 5 lakh people are living indirectly associated with the silk industry. The economic strength of the district is largely dependent on the silk industry. But the Silk City of Gani Khan’s dream is a victim of extreme neglect today. Around a few lakh people in Malda today are waiting to turn their backs on sericulture. They are desperately trying to find an alternative. But it is alleged that no initiative is being taken to keep them alive. The state government is trying to keep the silk industry of the state, including Malda district, alive by donating to the best of its ability. But the Central Silk Board is alleged to have folded its hands. Earlier, Mothabari MLA and minister Sabina Yasmin had approached the chief minister seeking various demands of the sericulture farmers. He urged the chief minister to take various steps to revive the silk industry in the district. Finally, at the initiative of minister Sabina Yasmin, the district silk department received about Tk 7 crore for the development of the silk industry in Malda. Minister Sabina Yasmin is happy with this. He thanked the chief minister and the silk commissioner. However, traders to ordinary farmers have expressed concern over the decline in the cultivation of pests and the production of silk seeds day by day.
