ভারত সরকারের ইনক্রেডেবেল ইন্ডিয়া, ওয়ার্লড সেফ, ওয়েস্টার্ন সেফ অ্যাসোসিয়েশন সহ অন্যান্য সেফ এসোসিয়েশন, মধ্য প্রদেশ টুরিজম এবং একটি রান্না বিষয়ক ম্যাগাজিনের সহযোগিতায় দেশ জুড়ে শুরু হয়েছে ‘এভারেস্ট বেটার কিচেন কুলিনারি চ্যালেঞ্জ প্রতিযোগিতা-সেশান ফোর।’
Kolkata: A unique culinary competition was held in Kolkata to highlight the country’s lost food diversity.
The ‘Everest Better Kitchen Culinary Challenge Competition – Session Four’ has been launched across the country in collaboration with the Government of India’s Incredible India, World Safe, Western Safe Association and other safe associations, Madhya Pradesh Tourism and a culinary magazine. ’
প্রতিযোগীতার থিম ফ্লেভারস অফ ইন্ডিয়া। কলকাতায় এই প্রতিযোগিতা অনুষ্ঠিত হয় রাজ্যের হোটেল ম্যানেজমেন্টের ছাত্রছাত্রীদের নিয়ে। পত্রিকাটির তরফে একতা ভার্গব বলেন, ‘আমাদের মা ঠাকুরদার আমলে অনেক ধরনের খাবার ও রকমারী মিষ্টি আমরা খেয়েছি যেগুলো এখন আর বিশেষ দেখা যায় না। সেই সব হারিয়ে যাওয়া খাবার নতুন পদ্ধতিতে নতুন প্রজন্মের ছেলে মেয়েদের কাছে তুলে ধরা হচ্ছে। এই প্রতিযোগীতার মাধ্যমে হোটেল কর্মী, সেফ ও রাধুনীদের সেই সব খাবার রান্না করাও শেখানো হচ্ছে যাতে ভারতের খাদ্য বৈচিত্র বিশ্বব্যাপি ছড়িয়ে দেওয়া যায়। কলকাতা ছাড়াও ১৫ টি রাজ্যে এই প্রতিযোগিতা অনুষ্ঠিত হচ্ছে । এরপর ফেব্রুয়ারির ১৭-১৮ তারিখ মুম্বাইতে এই প্রতিযোগিতার গ্র্যান্ড ফিনালে অনুষ্ঠীত হবে।
কলকাতায় এদিনের প্রতিযোগিতায় কলকাতার সেরা দল এভারেস্ট কান্দা লাসুন মাসালা। প্রথম রানার আপ এবং দ্বিতীয় রানার আপ যথাক্রমে এভারেস্ট জিরালু এবং এভারেস্ট পাভ ভাজি মাসালা। একাধিক সিটি চ্যালেঞ্জের টাইটেল স্পন্সর হল এভারেস্ট স্পাইসেস। বিজয়ীরা স্কলারশিপ এর মাধ্যমে বিদেশে পড়তে যাওয়ার সুযোগ পাবেন।
The theme of the contest is Flavours of India. The competition was held in Kolkata with the students of hotel management in the state. Ekta Bhargava, on behalf of the newspaper, said, “During the tenure of our mother Thakurda, we ate many types of food and sweets, which are not seen much anymore. All those lost foods are being presented to the new generation of boys and girls in a new way. Through this competition, hotel staff, chefs and cooks are also being taught to cook those foods so that India’s food diversity can be spread across the world. Apart from Kolkata, the competition is being held in 15 states. The grand finale of the competition will be held in Mumbai from February 17-18. Everest Kanda Lasun Masala is the best team of Kolkata in today’s competition in Kolkata. The first runner-up and the second runner-up are Everest Jiralu and Everest Pav Bhaji Masala respectively. Everest Spices is the title sponsor of multiple city challenges. The winners will get the opportunity to study abroad through the scholarship.
