তৃণমূল পঞ্চায়েত সদস্যের বাড়ির পাশেই ভরাট করা হচ্ছে আস্ত একটি পুকুর

মালদা: প্রকাশ্য দিবালোকে প্রশাসনকে কার্যত বুড়ো আঙ্গুল দেখিয়েই তৃণমূল পঞ্চায়েত সদস্যের বাড়ির পাশেই ভরাট করা হচ্ছে আস্ত একটি পুকুর। অথচ প্রশাসনের পক্ষ থেকে কয়েক লক্ষ টাকা ব্যয়ে বহু পুরনো এবং ঐতিহ্য এই পুকুরের পার বাঁধানো এবং সংস্কার করা হয়েছিল। ইংলিশ বাজার ব্লকের যদুপুর ২ নম্বর গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতের অন্তর্গত বুরুজপাড়ায় গণি খানের আমন থেকে রয়েছে এই পুকুর। বিশাল আকার নিয়ে থাকা এই পুকুর আস্তে আস্তে ভরাট করে ফেলছে জমি মাফিয়ারা বলে অভিযোগ গ্রামবাসীদের। বর্তমানে প্রকাশ্য দিবালোকেই চলছে এই পুকুর ভরাট। প্রশাসনের পক্ষ থেকে পুকুরের পাড় বাঁধানো হলেও মাটি দিয়ে তা বুঝিয়ে দেওয়ার অভিযোগ উঠেছে। শনিবার এই অভিযোগ তুলে গ্রামবাসীরা একত্রিত হয়ে বিক্ষোভ দেখান। পুকুর ভরাটের কাজ বন্ধ করে দিয়ে বিক্ষোভ প্রদর্শন করেন তারা। তাদের অভিযোগ বহু প্রাচীন এই পুকুর। আস্তে আস্তে ভরাট করা হচ্ছে এই পুকুর। পুকুরের বিশাল আকার থাকলেও আস্তে আস্তে ভরাট করে তা অর্ধেকে পরিণত করা হয়েছে। এলাকার মাটি মাফিয়া এবং মালদা শহরের নামকরা এক ব্যবসায়ী এই পুকুর ভরাটের সাথে যুক্ত বলে অভিযোগ গ্রামবাসীদের। গ্রামবাসীরা জানান প্রশাসনের পক্ষ থেকে যাতে এই পুকুর ভরাট বন্ধ করে পুনরায় খনন করা হোক তার ব্যবস্থা করা হয়।  প্রশ্ন উঠছে মালদার ইংলিশ বাজারের বাগবাড়ি এলাকায় যখন পুকুর ভরাটের বিরুদ্ধে কড়া পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করেছে জেলা ভূমি ও ভূমি সংস্কার দপ্তর সেখানে দাঁড়িয়ে অন্য ভূমিকা কেন প্রশাসনিক আধিকারিকদের। নাকি শষার মধ্যেই ভূত। যদি ওই বিষয়ে ভূমি ও ভূমি সংস্কার দপ্তরের আধিকারিকরা এই বিষয়ে কিছু মন্তব্য করতে চাননি।

Malda: In broad daylight, a pond is being filled next to the house of a Trinamool panchayat member, virtually showing the thumb finger to the administration. The pond dates back to the time of Gani Khan at Buruj para under Jadupur No. 2 gram panchayat of English Bazar block. The villagers alleged that the land mafia is slowly filling up this huge pond. At present, this pond is being filled in broad daylight. Although the administration has tied the bank of the pond, it has been alleged that it has been buried with soil. On Saturday, villagers gathered and staged a protest over the allegations. They protested by stopping the work of filling the pond. Their complaint is that this pond is very old. It’s slowly being filled. Although the pond has a huge size, it has been gradually filled and turned in half. The villagers alleged that the land mafia in the area and a well-known businessman from Malda town were involved in filling the pond. The villagers said that arrangements were made by the administration to stop filling the pond and dig it again.  Questions are being raised as to why the district land and land reforms department has taken strict action against the filling of ponds in Bagbari area of English Bazar in Malda. Or a ghost in the body. Officials of the Land and Land Reforms Department, however, did not wish to comment on the matter.
