মালদা জেলা পুলিশের উদ্যেগে অনুষ্ঠিত হল গৌড় মালদা ম্যারাথন দৌড় প্রতিযোগিতা। রবিবার সকালে মালদা জেলার ঐতিহাসিক গৌড় এলাকায় আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে উদ্বোধন করা হয় এই ম্যারাথন দৌড় প্রতিযোগিতার। উপস্থিত ছিলেন রাজ্যের মন্ত্রী সাবিনা ইয়াসমিন, জেলাশাসক নীতিন সিংহানিয়া, পুলিশ সুপার প্রদীপ কুমার যাদব, ডি আই জি মালদা রেঞ্জ অনুপ জসওয়াল,বিধায়ক আব্দুর রহিম বক্সি, ইংলিশবাজার পৌরসভার চেয়ারম্যান কৃষ্ণেন্দু নারায়ণ চৌধুরী, পুরাতন মালদা পৌরসভার চেয়ারম্যান কার্তিক ঘোষ সহ বিশিষ্ট জনেরা। এছাড়াও অন্যতম অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন অভিনেতা বাংলা খ্যাত অভিনেতা আবির চ্যাটারজি এবং ফুটবল তারকা মেহেতাব হোসেন। জানাজায় ৫ কিলোমিটার ১০ কিলোমিটার এবং ২১ কিলোমিটার তিনটি বিভাগে অনুষ্ঠিত হয় ম্যারাথন। অংশ নেই মালদা সহ উত্তরবঙ্গের বিভিন্ন জেলা থেকে আসা প্রতিযোগীরা।
Malda District Police organized the Gaur Malda Marathon race. The marathon was formally inaugurated on Sunday morning in the historic Gaur area of Malda district. State Minister Sabina Yasmin, District Magistrate Nitin Singhania, Superintendent of Police Pradeep Kumar Yadav, DIG Malda Range Anup Jaswal, MLA Abdur Rahim Bakshi, Englishbazar Municipality Chairman Krishnendu Narayan Chowdhury, Old Malda Municipality Chairman Kartik Ghosh and others were present. Actor Abir Chatterjee and football star Mehtab Hossain were also present as guests. The marathon was held in three divisions of 5 km 10 km and 21 km. There are no participants from different districts of North Bengal including Malda.
