মালদা: দীর্ঘ প্রতীক্ষার অবসান। ইংলিশ বাজার পঞ্চায়েত সমিতির সভাপতি লিপিকা বর্মন ঘোষের উদ্যোগে অবশেষে বর্ষা শুরুর আগেই নতুন রাস্তা পেতে চলেছেন গ্রামবাসীরা। বৃহস্পতিবার সকালে প্রায় ২৪ লক্ষ টাকা ব্যয়ে দুটি ঢালাই রাস্তার আনুষ্ঠানিক শিলান্যাস করা হল। ইংলিশবাজার ব্লকের মহদীপুর অঞ্চলের টিয়াকাঠি এবং শনিবাড়ি এলাকায় প্রায় ৪৬৫ মিটার দুটি ঢালাই রাস্তার শিলান্যাস করা হয়। জানা গেছে টিয়াকাটি এলাকায় এতদিন কোন ঢালাই রাস্তা ছিল না। অথচ এই রাস্তা দিয়েই রামকেলি, খাসিমারি, লাহারি পাড়া, মালোপাড়া সহ বেশ কয়েকটি এলাকার মানুষজন যাতায়াত করত। ফলে বর্ষা এলেই যাতায়াতের অযোগ্য হয়ে পড়ত এই কাঁচা রাস্তা। সমস্যায় পড়তে হত গ্রামবাসীদের এবং ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের। কারণ এই রাস্তা দিয়েই মহদীপুর গার্লস এবং মহদীপুর হাই স্কুলের ছাত্রছাত্রীরা যাতায়াত করত। অবশেষে বর্ষার আগেই নতুন রাস্তা পেতে চলেছেন এইসব এলাকার মানুষজন। ইংলিশবাজার পঞ্চায়েত সমিতির সভাপতি লিপিকা বর্মন ঘোষ এদিন নারকেল ফাটিয়ে আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে টিয়াকাটি এবং শনিবাড়ি এলাকায় এই দুটি রাস্তার শিলান্যাস করেন। এছাড়াও উপস্থিত ছিলেন স্থানীয় গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতের সদস্য এবং মহদীপুর অঞ্চলের তৃণমূলের সভাপতি প্রশান্ত ঘোষ।
Malda: The long wait is over. With the initiative of Lipika Barman Ghosh, president of English Bazar Panchayat Samiti, the villagers are going to get a new road before the onset of monsoon. On Thursday morning, the foundation stone of two welded roads was laid at a cost of around 24 lakh rupees. The foundation stone of two cast roads of about 465 meters was laid in Tiakathi and Shanibari area of Mahdipur area of Englishbazar block. It is known that till now there was no welding road in Tiakati area. But people from several areas including Ramkeli, Khasimari, Lahari Para, Malopara used to travel through this road. As a result, this unpaved road becomes impassable when the monsoon comes. Villagers and students had to face problems. Because students of Mahdipur Girls and Mahdipur High School used to travel through this road. Finally, the people of these areas are going to get new roads before monsoon. Lipika Burman Ghosh, president of Englishbazar Panchayat Samiti, broke coconuts and formally laid the foundation stones of these two roads in Tiakati and Shanibari areas. Also present was Prashant Ghosh, member of the local village panchayat and Trinamool president of Mahdipur region.
