ওয়ার্ল্ড সাইকিয়াট্রিক অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের সভাপতি অধ্যাপক আফজাল জাভেদ ব্যক্তিগতভাবে কলকাতায় সম্মেলনে যোগ দিচ্ছেন। কনফারেন্সের থিম বিল্ডিং অ্যাওয়ারনেস, বিল্ডিং ট্রিটমেন্ট গ্যাপ মনোরোগ বিশেষজ্ঞ এবং অন্যান্য মানসিক স্বাস্থ্য পেশাদারদের একত্রিত করার গুরুত্ব তুলে ধরে, একটি ফোরাম প্রদান করে যেখানে রোগীদের বা অত্যন্ত আঘাতপ্রাপ্ত সহ-মানুষ এবং তাদের পরিবারের কণ্ঠস্বর শোনা যাবে।
এই থিমটি বেছে নেওয়া হয়েছে, মানসিক স্বাস্থ্য পরিষেবার বিধানে ৮৫% চিকিত্সার বিশাল ব্যবধানের কথা মাথায় রেখে। এই উদ্বেগজনক ব্যবধানের জন্য মৌলিক তিনটি প্রধান কারণ রয়েছে, যার মধ্যে কলঙ্ক প্রথমে আসে, ডাক্তার এবং রোগীর অনুপাত কম। দুর্ভাগ্যবশত, আমাদের মাত্র ১:১০০০০ মনোরোগ বিশেষজ্ঞ আছে এবং আমরা এই ব্যবধানটি পূরণ করে ১:২০০০ মনোরোগ বিশেষজ্ঞের লক্ষ্যে পৌঁছানোর লক্ষ্য রাখি।
বৈজ্ঞানিক কমিটি প্রায় ১১০টি কর্মশালা, ৮৬টি সিম্পোজিয়াম, ১২০টি বিনামূল্যের পেপার, ৪৮টি পোস্টার, ১১টি প্রাক কংগ্রেস ওয়ার্কশপ সহ ২২৫ ঘন্টার একাডেমিক প্রোগ্রামের ব্যবস্থা করেছে ৷ এটি ওয়ার্ল্ড সাইকিয়াট্রিক অ্যাসোসিয়েশন আয়োজিত একটি সম্মেলনের বিরল উপলক্ষগুলির মধ্যে একটি যেখানে ডব্লিউ পি এ, বর্তমান এবং অতীতের ৪ জন সভাপতি উপস্থিত রয়েছেন। বিভিন্ন দেশের ১০ টিরও বেশি সাইকিয়াট্রিক অ্যাসোসিয়েশন তাদের রাষ্ট্রপতিদের দ্বারা প্রতিনিধিত্ব করছেন।
আমরা মোহর কুঞ্জ থেকে একটি ধাতব স্বাস্থ্য সচেতনতামূলক পদযাত্রার আয়োজন করেছি। কলকাতায় এই বিশ্ব কংগ্রেসে যোগ দেওয়ার জন্য আমাদের ২৬টি বিভিন্ন দেশ এবং ৫টি মহাদেশের ১০০০ টিরও বেশি প্রতিনিধি রয়েছে। সমস্ত সার্ক দেশের সহকর্মীরা এই ইভেন্টের পরিকল্পনা করার জন্য সক্রিয়ভাবে সহযোগিতা করেছে যার মধ্যে রয়েছে এনজিও, তত্ত্বাবধায়ক, স্নাতক ছাত্র এবং মানসিক স্বাস্থ্যের সমস্ত ইন্টারফেস নিয়ে আলোচনা করার জন্য সিনিয়র বিচারকের জন্য একটি বিশেষ অধিবেশন। মানসিক স্বাস্থ্যের রোগে আক্রান্ত রোগীদের পক্ষে উকিল হওয়ার এই সুযোগ এবং মানসিক স্বাস্থ্যের সমস্যাগুলি নিয়ে সাধারণ জনগণকে হাইলাইট ও সংবেদনশীল করার জন্য আমরা আপনাকে ধন্যবাদ জানাই।
Own news: The World Psychological Association is organizing its first Regional Congress in Kolkata. This mega academic event is being held for 4 days at ITC Royal Bengal, Kolkata. Dr. Gautam Saha, President of SAARC Psychiatric Federation and Organizing Chairperson of this Congress and Dr. G. Prasad Rao Chairperson Scientific Committee welcomed all the delegates and mentioned that more than 1000 delegates are present during 14-16 April 2023 with additional pre. World Psychiatric Association President Prof. Afzal Javed is personally attending the conference in Kolkata. The conference theme Building Awareness, Building Treatment Gaps highlights the importance of bringing psychiatrists and other mental health professionals together, providing a forum where the voices of patients or highly traumatized co-workers and their families can be heard. This theme was chosen, keeping in mind the huge 85% treatment gap in the provision of mental health services. There are three main reasons underlying this alarming gap, among which stigma comes first, low doctor-to-patient ratio. Unfortunately, we have only 1:10000 psychiatrists and we aim to bridge this gap to reach the target of 1:2000 psychiatrists. The Scientific Committee has organized 225 hours of academic program including about 110 workshops, 86 symposia, 120 free papers, 48 posters, 11 pre-congress workshops. This is one of the rare occasions that a conference organized by the World Psychiatric Association is attended by 4 presidents of the WPA, present and past. More than 10 psychiatric associations from different countries are represented by their presidents.
We organized a metal health awareness walk from Mohr Kunj. We have more than 1000 delegates from 26 different countries and 5 continents to attend this World Congress in Kolkata. Colleagues from all SAARC countries actively collaborated to plan the event which included a special session for NGOs, supervisors, graduate students and senior judges to discuss all interfaces of mental health. We thank you for this opportunity to advocate for patients with mental health disorders and to highlight and sensitize the general public about mental health issues.
