Own news: গত ১৪/০৪/২৩ গিরিশ মঞ্চে মঞ্চস্থ হলো শ্রীমঞ্চ নাট্যগোষ্ঠী নিবেদিত, শ্রী সুদীপ বিশ্বাস রচিত, শ্রী হেমন্ত মিত্র নির্দেশিত নাটক কালো মানুষের কবি। আফ্রিকান কবি বেঞ্জামিন মোলাইজের জীবনের মর্মস্পর্শী কাহিনী এই নাটকের মূল বিষয়, আজকের দিনে দাঁড়িয়েও যেখানে জর্জ ফ্লয়েডদের শুধুমাত্র গায়ের রং কালো হওয়ার অপরাধে নৃশংস ভাবে খুন করা হয়। সেই পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে এই নাটকটি যথেষ্ট অর্থবহ। নির্দেশককে অসংখ্য ধন্যবাদ এই ধরণের একটি প্রতিবাদী নাটক দর্শকদের উপহার দেওয়ার জন্য। নাটকের শুরুতেই আমরা দেখতে পাই একটি দুর্দান্ত কোরাস নৃত্য, এবং সেই নৃত্যের মাধ্যমেই সূচনা নাটকের মূল স্তরের। অতীব ভয়ংকর শ্বেতাঙ্গ বোথা সরকারের নির্মম অত্যাচারে জর্জরিত হতে হতে কীভাবে মাত্র ৩০ বছর বয়েসে নিতান্ত এক ঘৃণ্য ষড়যন্ত্রের শিকার হয়ে ফাঁসির দড়ির মাধ্যমে এক সংগ্রামী জীবনের যবনিকা ঘটে। সেই নিয়েই এগিয়ে চলে নাটকের মূল বিষয়বস্তু।
গল্পের প্রয়োজনে আরো বিভিন্ন চরিত্র আমরা প্রত্যক্ষ করি যাদের আগমন নাটকটিকে প্রতিটা স্তরে আরো বলিষ্ঠ করে তোলে। বেঞ্জামিনের ভূমিকায় ঋষি গুপ্ত এবং অত্যাচারী অফিসারের ভূমিকার অপূর্ব শংকর ঘোষের অভিনয় এই নাটকের মুল সম্পদ। তাদের অনবদ্য অভিনয় নাটকটির মাত্রা অসীমে পৌঁছে দিয়েছে। এছাড়াও বলতে হবে বেঞ্জামিনের মা মামিকের চরিত্রে শ্রাবণী বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় এবং জার্নালিস্টের চরিত্রে চন্দ্রানী ভট্টাচার্যের কথা। প্রহরীর চরিত্রে কৃষ্ণ বসাক এবং সাবঅর্ডিনেটের চরিত্রে বারীন ভট্টাচার্যের প্রচেষ্টাও প্রশংসনীয়। এছাড়াও ৩ জন নাগরিকের চরিত্রে হিজল চ্যাটার্জি , শুভাশিস ব্যানার্জি ও রিয়া গুপ্ত তাদের সাবলীলতা বজায় রাখার চেষ্টা করে গেছে। খুব ভালো লাগলো বেঞ্জামিনকে নিয়ে ক্যামেরা ট্রায়ালে জাস্টিস ফানডিকের এজলাসে দুই এডভোকেট জ্যাকব এবং মিসেস জেনার বাক যুদ্ধ। ফানডিকের ভূমিকার তপন সাহা যথাযথ। মিসেস জেনারের ভূমিকার অহনা রায় এবং জ্যাকবের ভূমিকার সুমন চক্রবর্তীর দুর্দান্ত অভিনয় নাটকটিকে এক অন্য মাত্রায় নিয়ে যায়। এই নাটকটি দেখতে বসে আরো একটি বিষয় নজর কাড়ে, সেটা হলো সেট শিফটিংয়ের পদ্ধতি। এক কথায় অসাধারণ। উত্তম বিশ্বাসের আলো, রানা দাসের আবহ, অজিত রায়ের মঞ্চ, শেখ ইস্রাফিলের রূপসজ্জায় শ্রীমঞ্চের কালো মানুষের কবি সত্যিই স্বার্থক।
Own news: Last 14/04/23 Girish Manch staged the play Kalo Manana Kabi dedicated to Srimanch Theater Group, written by Mr. Sudeep Biswas, directed by Mr. Hemant Mitra. The poignant story of African poet Benjamin Molise’s life is at the heart of this play, even today where George Floyd is brutally murdered simply for being black. In that context, this play is quite meaningful. Many thanks to the director for gifting this kind of protest drama to the audience. At the very beginning of the play we see a great chorus dance, and through that dance the main stage of the play is introduced. How from being subjected to brutal oppression by the terrible white Botha government, to being the victim of a heinous conspiracy at the age of 30, to a life of struggle through the gallows. The main content of the play proceeds with that. As the story requires, we see more diverse characters whose arrival makes the drama stronger at every level. Rishi Gupta as Benjamin and Apurba Shankar Ghosh as the tyrannical officer are the main assets of this drama. Their impeccable acting has taken the drama to infinity. 
Also worth mentioning are Shravani Bandyopadhyay as Benjamin’s mother Mamik and Chandrani Bhattacharya as the journalist. The efforts of Krishna Basak as the watchman and Barin Bhattacharya as the subordinate are also commendable. Also, Hijal Chatterjee, Subhashis Banerjee and Rhea Gupta try to maintain their fluency as the 3 citizens. It was very nice to see two advocates, Jacob and Mrs. Jenner, fighting in the courtroom of Justice Fundick in the camera trial of Benjamin. Tapan Chakraborty in the role of Fundik is perfect. Ahana Roy in the role of Mrs. Jenna and Suman Chakraborty in the role of Jacob take the drama to another level. Another thing that catches the eye while watching this drama is the method of set shifting. In a word, amazing. The light of Uttam Biswas, the atmosphere of Rana Das, the stage of Ajit Roy, the decoration of Sheikh Israfil, the poet of the black man of Srimanch is truly self-interested.
