নদীয়াঃ- চলে গেলেন নবদ্বীপের বিশিষ্ট সমাজসেবী এবং বিজেপির নদীয়া জেলা কমিটির সদস্য প্রশান্ত দেবনাথ। মৃত্যুকালে তাঁর বয়স হয়েছিল ৫৯ বছর। গতকাল গভীর রাতেই নিজের বাড়িতেই সেরিব্রাল আক্রমণে শেষ নিঃশ্বাস ত্যাগ করেন তিনি। ভোর হতেই এই খবর ছড়িয়ে পড়তেই তাঁর বাড়িতে দলে দলে বিজেপির বিভিন্ন স্তরের নেতা কর্মীরা ছুটে আসেন। রাজনৈতিক পরিচয় ছাড়াও এলাকায় ও শহর জুড়ে বিশিষ্ট সমাজসেবক হিসেবে বেশ জনপ্রিয়তা ছিলেন তার। এক কথায় বলতে গেলে দলমত নির্বিশেষে তার কাছে যে কোন সাহায্যের জন্য এসে কেউ খালি হাতে ফেরেনি কখনো। এদিন সকালে তার মর দেহ বাড়ি থেকে প্রথমে নবদ্বীপ স্টেশন রোডে বিজেপির দলিয় কার্যালয়ে আনা হয়, সেখানেই তাকে শেষ শ্রদ্ধা জানান বিজেপির নেতা কর্মীরা। বিজেপি শহর দক্ষিণ মন্ডলের সভাপতি সমির রায় বলেন প্রশান্ত দার চলে যাওয়া আমাদের কাছে আকাশ থেকে পড়ার মতো,খবর, তিনি একাধারে যেমন দক্ষ সংগঠক ছিলেন পাশাপাশি সকলের আপদ বিপদেও ঝাপিয়ে পরতেন, তার চলে যাওয়া কোন ভাবেই মেনে নিতে পারছি না। শেষ শ্রদ্ধা জানাতে উপস্থিত ছিলেন বিজেপির রাজ্য কমিটির সদস্য গৌতম পাল, তিনি বলেন প্রশান্ত দেবনাথ সকলের সাথে মিশে কিভাবে কাজ করতে হয় তার জীবন্ত উদাহরন ছিলেন, তিনি মন্ডল স্তরের সহ বিভিন্ন সময় দলের বিভিন্ন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পদ দায়িত্বের সাথে পালন করছেন। নদীয়া উত্তর সাংগঠনিক জেলার সাধারণ সম্পাদিকা অপর্ণা নন্দীর কথা আমরা একটা বট গাছ হারালাম। দলিয় কার্যালয়ে শেষ শ্রদ্ধা জানানোর পর তাকে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয় নবদ্বীপ মহাশ্মশানে। সেখানেও তাঁকে শেষ শ্রদ্ধা জানাতে ছুটে যায় কয়েকশো মানুষজন। এলাকা বাসী, পরিজন দলের সতীর্থ দের চোখের জল যেন সত্যি এটাই জানান দিলো প্রশান্ত দেবনাথ তাদের কাছে বটগাছের মতোই ছিলেন।
Nadia:- Prominent philanthropist of Nabadwip and member of the Nadia district committee of BJP Prashant Debnath passed away. He was 59 years old at the time of his death. He breathed his last last night due to a cerebral attack at his home. As this news spread early in the morning, leaders and workers of various levels of the BJP rushed to his house in droves. Apart from his political identity, he was very popular as a prominent social worker in the area and across the city. In a word, no one came to him for any help, regardless of party affiliation, and never returned empty-handed. His dead body was first brought from his home to the BJP party office on Nabadwip Station Road this morning, where BJP leaders and workers paid their last respects. BJP City Dakshin Mandal President Samir Roy said Prashant Dar’s departure is like falling from the sky, the news, as he was a skilled organizer as well as risking everyone’s danger, I cannot accept his departure in any way. BJP state committee member Gautam Pal was present to pay his last respects. He said that Prashant Debnath was a living example of how to work with everyone. We lost a banyan tree, said Aparna Nandi, general manager of Nadia North organizational district. After paying his last respects at Dalia’s office, he was taken to Navadwip Mahasmashan. Hundreds of people rushed to pay their last respects there. The tears of the local people and the teammates of the family team said that Prashant Debnath was like a banyan tree to them.
