মালদাঃ মালদা ছাড়ার আগে জেলার তৃণমূল সভাপতি, ব্লক সভাপতি, অঞ্চল সভাপতি ও বিধায়কদের নিয়ে বৈঠক করলেন তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের সর্বভারতীয় সাধারণ সম্পাদক অভিষেক ব্যানার্জি। গত কয়েকদিন ধরে বিভিন্ন জেলায় তৃণমূলের জনসংযোগ কর্মসূচিতে যোগ দিয়েছেন তিনি। জেলার বিভিন্ন ব্লকে কর্মসূচি শেষ করে সুস্থানি মোর এলাকায় তার নির্দেশে আসন্ন গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েত নির্বাচনে প্রার্থী বাছাইয়ের জন্য ব্যালটের মাধ্যমে নির্বাচন অনুষ্ঠিত হয় বৃহস্পতিবার রাতে। শুক্রবার মালদা ছাড়ার আগে দলের জেলা নেতৃত্বদের সঙ্গে বৈঠক করেন অভিষেক ব্যানার্জি। দীর্ঘক্ষণ বৈঠকের পর অভিষেক ব্যানার্জির কনভয় মুর্শিদাবাদের উদ্দেশ্যে রওনা দেয়। জেলার গোষ্ঠীমন্ডল ঠেকাতে বিভিন্ন উদ্যোগ গ্রহণ করা হয় দলের পক্ষ থেকে। এই বিষয়ে মন্ত্রী সাবিনা ইয়াসমিন এবং মালদা জেলা তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের সভাপতি আব্দুর রহিম বক্সী বলেন, তৃণমূলের সর্বভারতীয় সাধারণ সম্পাদক অভিষেক ব্যানার্জি মালদা ছাড়ার আগে বিধায়ক, ব্লক সভাপতি ও অঞ্চল সভাপতিদের নিয়ে বৈঠক করেন। কোনো এলাকার কারো বিরুদ্ধে কোনো অভিযোগ থাকলে সেটি স্থানীয় নেতৃত্বদের মেটানোর নির্দেশ দেন তৃণমূলের সর্বভারতীয় সভাপতি।
