কলকাতা, 21শে জুন: শ্রী জগন্নাথ সেবা সমিতির সাংস্কৃতিক শাখা UTKALA দ্বারা আয়োজিত ওডিশা উৎসব, আজ থেকে ভবানীপুর কলকাতার নর্দান পার্কে শুরু হচ্ছে৷ ওডিশা উৎসবের উদ্বোধন করেন পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মাননীয় গভর্নর শ্রী সি ভি আনন্দ বোস, নর্দান পার্কের মাননীয় কাউন্সিলর শ্রী অসীম কুমার বোস, কেএমসি, ভবানীপুরের 70 নং ওয়ার্ড, জনাব চন্দ্র সেখর পানিগ্রাহী, সভাপতি, জগন্নাথ সেবা সমিতি, খিদিরপুর, শ্রী কাশীনাথ বেহেরা, সভাপতি উৎকলা, অন্যান্য অতিথি ও গণ্যমান্য ব্যক্তিবর্গ। বেশ কয়েকটি পারফরম্যান্স হচ্ছে এবং দর্শকরা ওডিশার হস্তশিল্পের একটি আভাসও পাবেন যা এই অনুষ্ঠানে প্রদর্শন করা হয়।” শিল্প ও সংস্কৃতিতে অসামান্য অবদানের জন্য 2003 সাল থেকে প্রতি বছর উৎকল সম্মান প্রদান করা হয়। এই বছর প্রখ্যাত গায়ক শ্রী দেবাশিস মহাপাত্র, একজন বিশিষ্ট ওড়িয়া গায়ক উৎকল সম্মানে সম্মানিত হয়েছেন।
এছাড়াও তিনি অন্যান্য নামী শিল্পীদের সাথে পারফর্ম করেছেন। “বেঙ্গল আইজে জগন্নাথ” বইটি উন্মোচন করা হয় উৎকল স্যুভেনির এবং অ্যালবাম ঝুমার এবং ময়ূরভঞ্জের প্রজেক্ট ছাউনি ছৌ নৃত্য পরিবেশন করে এবং রায়রংপুরের শ্রী সুভাষ পাত্র ও ট্রুপ ঝুমুর গান পরিবেশন করে। এই উপলক্ষে, শ্রী জগন্নাথ সেবা সমিতির সভাপতি শ্রী সি এস পানিগ্রাহী বলেন, “কিদারপুর জগন্নাথ মন্দিরে, আমরা রথযাত্রা উদযাপনে যোগ দিই যেভাবে এটি অন্য সব জায়গায় পালিত হয়। একই সাথে, আমরা ওড়িশা উৎসব নামে পরিচিত একটি সপ্তাহব্যাপী উৎসবেরও আয়োজন করেছি। আমাদের উদ্দেশ্য হল বাংলার মানুষকে ওডিশার প্রাণবন্ত সংস্কৃতি, শিল্পকলা এবং সঙ্গীতের সাথে পরিচয় করিয়ে দেওয়া। উপরন্তু, আমরা আমাদের মন্দির দর্শনার্থীদের মধ্যে জগন্নাথ সংস্কৃতির প্রচার করার এবং অন্যদের কাছে এই সংস্কৃতি ছড়িয়ে দেওয়ার জন্য উত্সাহিত করার সময় ওডিশার শিল্পকর্ম এবং রান্নার উপাদানগুলিকে কিছু পরিমাণে অন্তর্ভুক্ত করার চেষ্টা করি। ওড়িশা উৎসব গত দুই দশক ধরে একটি চলমান ঐতিহ্য। এই বছর, আমরা কলকাতার কিদারপুর জগন্নাথ মন্দিরে 75 তম রথযাত্রাকে স্মরণ করতে পেরে গর্বিত৷ সকলের কাছে আমাদের বার্তা হল জগন্নাথ সংস্কৃতিকে আলিঙ্গন করুন এবং অনুসরণ করুন।”
22 তারিখ সন্ধ্যায়, কলকাতার মাননীয় মেয়র, জনাব ফিরহাদ হাকিম প্রধান অতিথি হিসাবে উত্সবটি উপভোগ করবেন। 22 তারিখে দর্শকরা পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকার কর্তৃক প্রযোজিত বাউল নৃত্য উপভোগ করবেন। 7 দিনব্যাপী এই উৎসবটি ওড়িশা সরকার দ্বারা স্পনসরকৃত নবজীবন নাট্যশাস্ত্রের শাস্ত্রীয় নৃত্যের অনুষ্ঠান, শ্রীমতীর নৃত্য অনুষ্ঠানের সাক্ষী থাকবে। কলকাতার ওডিয়াসের শিল্পীদের ভজন সন্ধ্যা অনুষ্ঠান সহ মীরা দাস এবং ট্রুপ, ভারতীয় ধ্রুপদী নৃত্য, আন্তঃস্কুল প্রতিযোগিতা, বিশিষ্ট ভজন গায়ক/বলিউড গায়িকা সাধনা সরগম এবং তার দলের ভজন সন্ধ্যা, মন্দির দলের পরিবেশনা এবং অধ্যাপক মহুয়ার গৌসিয়া নৃত্য মুখার্জি ওড়িশা উৎসবকে সাজিয়ে তুলবেন। 2023 সালের 25শে জুন একটি ঐতিহ্যবাহী খিরি-পিঠা প্রতিযোগিতা অনুষ্ঠিত হবে। 27 শে জুন 2023 তারিখে সমাপনী অনুষ্ঠানটি পুরস্কার বিজয়ীদের পরিচয় দিয়ে শুরু হবে এবং তারপরে পুরস্কার বিজয়ীদের নৃত্য পরিবেশন করা হবে। 28শে জুন 2023 তারিখে সকাল 10.00 টায় বহুদা যাত্রার (রিটার্ন রথ) মাধ্যমে উত্সব শেষ হবে।

KOLKATA, JUNE 21ST: ODISHA FESTIVAL organized by UTKALA, The Cultural Wing of Sri Jagannath Seva Samiti, kickstarts from today at the Northern Park, Bhawanipore Kolkata.
ODISHA FESTIVAL was inaugurated by Hon’ble Governor of West Bengal Sri C V Anand Bose in the presence of Mr. Ashim Kumar Bose, Hon Councilor of Northern Park, Ward No 70, KMC, Bhawanipore, Mr. Chandra Sekhar Panigrahi, President, Jagannath Seva Samiti, Khidirpur, Mr. Kashinath Behera, President Utkala, other guests and dignitaries.
Several performances are taking place and visitors will also have a glimpse of Odisha handicrafts that are on display on the occasion.” Utkala Samman conferred every year since 2003 on personalities with outstanding contributions to Art and Culture. This year renowned Singer Mr. Debashis Mohapatra, a prominent Odia singer was honored with Utkal Sanman. He also performed along with other well-known artists. The book “Jagannath in Bengal Eyes” Utkala Souvenir & Album JHUMAR was unveiled and the project Chhauni from Mayurbhanj performed Chhou Dance and Sri Subhash Patra & Troupe from Rairangpur performed Jhumur songs.
On this occasion, Mr. C.S. Panigrahi, President, of Sree Jagannath Seva Samiti said, “At Kidderpore Jagannath Mandir, we join in the celebration of Rath Yatra just like it is celebrated everywhere else. Concurrently, we also organized a week-long festival known as Odisha Festival. Our objective is to introduce the people of Bengal to the vibrant culture, arts, and music of Odisha. Additionally, we endeavor to incorporate elements of Odisha’s artifacts and cuisine to some extent, while promoting the Jagannath culture among our temple visitors and encouraging them to spread this culture to others. The Odisha Festival has been an ongoing tradition for the past two decades. This year, we are proud to commemorate the 75th Rath Yatra at Kidderpore Jagannath Temple in Kolkata. Our message to all is to embrace and follow the Jagannath culture.”
On the 22nd evening, the Honorable Mayor of Kolkata, Mr. Firhad Hakim will grace the festival as Chief Guest. On the 22nd the audience will enjoy the Baul dance sponsored by the Govt of West Bengal.
This 7-day-long festival will witness the classical dance program by Navajiban Natya Sastra, sponsored by Govt of Odisha, dance program by Smt. Meera Das & Troupe along with the Bhajan Sandhya program by Artists of Odias at Kolkata, Indian classical Dance, interschool competition, Bhajan Sandhya by eminent Bhajan Singer / Bollywood singer Sadhana Sargam and her Team, performance by the Temple team and Gousiya Nritya by Prof Mahua Mukherjee will adorn the Odisha Festival.
A traditional Khiri-Pitha competition will be held on 25th June 2023.
The Closing ceremony on 27th June 2023 will be started with the introduction of prize winners followed by dance performances by the prize winners. The festivities will end with the Bahuda Yatra (Return Rath) at 10.00 am on 28th June 2023.
