অ্যাসোসিয়েশন অফ কর্পোরেট অ্যাডভাইজার অ্যান্ড এক্সিকিউটিভস (ACAE) হল কলকাতার প্রাচীনতম পেশাদার সংস্থাগুলির মধ্যে একটি। সদস্যদের একটি বৈচিত্র্যময় প্রোফাইল রয়েছে এবং এতে পেশাদার অনুশীলনকারী, কর্পোরেট নির্বাহী, শিল্পপতি এবং ব্যবসায়ী অন্তর্ভুক্ত রয়েছে। ACAE 1960 সালে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়েছিল এবং এটি একটি অগ্রগামী পেশাদার প্ল্যাটফর্ম যা কর্পোরেট জগতের সকলকে অগ্রগতি এবং বৃদ্ধির অভিন্ন লক্ষ্য অর্জনের জন্য নিয়ে আসে।
ACAE 25শে জুন, 2023 তারিখে কলকাতার পার্ক হোটেলে “INDIA The Party has just Begun” বিষয়ের উপর 13 তম প্রফেসর সুকুমার ভট্টাচার্য স্মারক বক্তৃতা আয়োজন করে৷ প্রফেসর সুকুমার ভট্টাচার্য স্মারক বক্তৃতা একটি অত্যন্ত বিশিষ্ট বার্ষিক অনুষ্ঠান এবং আমরা সুযোগ পেয়েছি৷ বিশিষ্ট ব্যক্তিবর্গকে স্বাগত জানানোর এই আয়োজনে। অধ্যাপক সুকুমার ভট্টাচার্য ACAE-এর প্রতিষ্ঠাতা সহ-সভাপতি এবং পরে সভাপতি ছিলেন। প্রফেসর সুকুমার ভট্টাচার্য ট্যাক্সেশন আইনের একজন বিশিষ্ট বিশেষজ্ঞ, চার্টার্ড অ্যাকাউন্ট্যান্ট এবং ইনস্টিটিউট অফ চার্টার্ড অ্যাকাউন্ট্যান্টস অফ ইন্ডিয়ার কেন্দ্রীয় কাউন্সিলের প্রাক্তন সদস্য ছিলেন। তিনিও I.A.S পাশ করেছিলেন। পরীক্ষা দিলেও চাকরিতে যোগ দেননি। তিনি কলকাতা হাইকোর্ট/সুপ্রিম কোর্টের সিনিয়র অ্যাডভোকেট হন। প্রফেসর ভট্টাচার্যকে চার্টার্ড অ্যাকাউন্ট্যান্ট এবং অ্যাডভোকেট হিসাবে উভয় পেশাই চালিয়ে যাওয়ার জন্য ভারতের ইন্সটিটিউট অফ চার্টার্ড অ্যাকাউন্ট্যান্টস এবং পশ্চিমবঙ্গের বার কাউন্সিল দ্বারা অনুমতি দেওয়ার বিরল গৌরব ছিল। তিনি বিভিন্ন জার্নাল এবং সংবাদপত্রে প্রত্যক্ষ করের উপর সংখ্যক নিবন্ধ অবদান রেখেছেন এবং তিনি প্রত্যক্ষ কর এবং প্রাসঙ্গিক বিষয়ে অসংখ্য জাতীয় ও আন্তর্জাতিক সম্মেলনে বক্তৃতা করেছেন। ACAE-এর জন্য, 2005 সালে তার শেষ নিঃশ্বাস পর্যন্ত এই অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের সাথে তার মূল্যবান অবদান এবং গভীর সম্পৃক্ততার কারণে তিনি একজন পিতামহের ব্যক্তিত্ব ছিলেন। অ্যাসোসিয়েশন তার স্মরণে একটি বক্তৃতা সভা আয়োজন করে তাকে একটি বার্ষিক শ্রদ্ধা জানায়। প্রকৃতপক্ষে এটি ছিল অধ্যাপক সুকুমার ভট্টাচার্যের শতবর্ষ উদযাপন। ওই দিনের জন্য বক্তা ছিলেন মাননীয় রাষ্ট্রদূত ডঃ দীপক ভোহরা। ডঃ ভোহরা 21 শতকের একজন ভারতীয় কূটনীতিক এবং বর্তমানে তিনি ভারতীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রীর বিশেষ উপদেষ্টা। ডাঃ দীপক ভোহরা, IFS (অব.), লাদাখে স্বায়ত্তশাসিত পার্বত্য উন্নয়ন পরিষদের বিশেষ উপদেষ্টা ছিলেন। ডক্টর ভোহরা ভারতকে একটি সুপার পাওয়ার এবং কীভাবে আমরা কয়েক বছরের মধ্যে তৃতীয় বৃহত্তম অর্থনীতিতে পরিণত হতে যাচ্ছি সে সম্পর্কে কথা বলেছেন। কাঙ্খিত ফলাফল অর্জনে যাতে কোন প্রকার পাথর বাদ দেওয়া হয় তা নিশ্চিত করতে তিনি সরকারের প্রতিশ্রুতির কথা বলেন। তার বক্তব্য সমিতির প্রতিটি সদস্যকে অনুপ্রাণিত করেছিল। তিনি তাদের পেশাদার ক্যারিয়ারে আরও উচ্চতায় পৌঁছানোর আকাঙ্ক্ষার জন্য সবাইকে জোর দেন। বক্তৃতার সময় তার শক্তি এবং বুদ্ধির স্তর ছিল সবার জন্য আদর্শ।মেমোরিয়াল লেকচারে কাউন্সেল, ইনস্টিটিউট অফ চার্টার্ড অ্যাকাউন্ট্যান্টস অফ ইন্ডিয়া, ইনস্টিটিউট অফ কোম্পানি সেক্রেটারি অফ ইন্ডিয়া এবং অন্যান্য পেশাদার সংস্থার বিশিষ্ট ব্যক্তিরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
Association of Corporate Advisers & Executives (ACAE) is one of the oldest professional bodies in Kolkata. The members have a diverse profile and include professional practitioners, corporate executives, industrialists and businessmen. ACAE was established in the year 1960 and is a pioneer professional platform which brings everyone in the corporate world to achieve common goals of progress and growth.
ACAE organised the 13th Prof. Sukumar Bhattacharya Memorial Lecture on the topic “INDIA The Party has just Begun” at Park Hotel, Kolkata on June 25th, 2023. Prof. Sukumar Bhattacharya Memorial Lecture is a very prominent annual event and we have had the opportunity of welcoming eminent personalities to grace this event.
Prof. Sukumar Bhattacharya was the founder Vice-President and later on the President of the ACAE. Prof. Sukumar Bhattacharya was an eminent expert on Taxation Laws, Chartered Accountant and an ex-member of the Central Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He had also passed the I.A.S. Examination but did not join the service. He went on to become a Senior Advocate of Calcutta High Court/ Supreme Court. Prof. Bhattacharya had the rare distinction of being permitted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India as well as the Bar Council of West Bengal to carry on both the professions as a Chartered Accountant and also as an Advocate. He contributed number of articles on Direct Taxes in various journals and newspapers and he spoke at numerous national and international conferences on Direct Taxes and relevant matters. For ACAE, he was a fatherly figure because of his valued contribution and deep involvement with this Association since its inception to his last breath in 2005. The Association renders a yearly tribute to him by organising a Lecture Meeting in his memory. Infact this was the centenary year celebrations of Prof. Sukumar Bhattacharya.
The speaker for the day was Honourable Ambassador Dr. Deepak Vohra. Dr. Vohra is a 21st-century Indian diplomat and is currently the special advisor to Indian prime minister. Dr. Deepak Vohra, IFS (Retd), was the Special Advisor to the Autonomous Hill Development Council in Ladakh. Dr. Vohra’s spoke about India as a superpower and how we as a country is going to become the third largest economy in a few years. The spoke of the commitment of the Government in ensuring that so stone was left unturned in achieving the desired results. His speech inspired each and every member of the association. He also emphasised one and all to aspire in reaching greater heights in their professional careers. His level of energy and intellect during the lecture was a role model for everyone.
The Memorial Lecture was attended by eminent personalities from the Counsels, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Institute of Company Secretaries of India and other professional bodies.
