পারিজাত মোল্লাঃ অতি সম্প্রতি পূর্ব বর্ধমান জেলার মঙ্গলকোট থানা এলাকায় পরপর কয়েকটি মন্দিরে চুরির ঘটনা ঘটে। লিখিত অভিযোগ দায়েরের কয়েকদিনের মধ্যেই চুরির ঘটনাতে কিনারা করলো মঙ্গলকোট থানার পুলিশ। শনিবার বিকেলে কাটোয়ায় এসডিপিও কৌশিক বসাক এক সাংবাদিক সম্মেলনের মাধ্যমে পুরো বিষয়টি তুলে ধরেন।জানা গেছে, মঙ্গলকোট থানার আইসি পিন্টু মুখার্জির নির্দেশে সাব ইনস্পেকটর সামাউর রহমান সংশ্লিষ্ট এলাকার সিসিটিভি ফুটেজ সহ অন্যান্য সোর্স গুলি ব্যবহার করে মন্দির চুরিতে মূল পান্ডা নন্দন নাথ কে আউশগ্রামের গুসকরা থেকে গ্রেপ্তার করে থাকেন। গত শুক্রবার কাটোয়া মহকুমা আদালতে এসিজেম এজলাসে পেশ করা হলে ধৃতের ৩ দিনের পুলিশি হেফাজতে রাখার নির্দেশ জারি করা হয়। গত সপ্তাহে মঙ্গলকোটের মাজিগ্রামে সাকোম্বারি মাতা মন্দিরে চুরি হয়। অন্নপূর্ণা মায়ের মূর্তি, পূজার থালা বাসন, রুপোর চেন, মুকুট এবং পৈতে, সোনার চোখ ও টিপ্ ইত্যাদি চুরি হয়। গত ১৮ জুন স্বপন কুমার বটব্যাল (মন্দিরের সেবায়িত) এর অভিযোগে মঙ্গলকোট থানার পুলিশ তদন্তে নামে।কাটোয়ার শ্রীখণ্ড এলাকার নন্দন নাথ কে গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়েছে। পরবর্তীতে আদালতের নির্দেশে ৩ দিনের পুলিশি হেফাজতে রাখার নির্দেশ হয়।পুলিশি হেফাজতে তদন্তকারী পুলিশ অফিসার চুরি যাওয়া সামগ্রী গুলি উদ্ধার করা হয়। এই চুরিতে আর কারা যুক্ত তার খোঁজ চলছে বলে জানান মঙ্গলকোট থানার আইসি পিন্টু মুখার্জি। এলাকা সুত্রে প্রকাশ, গত সপ্তাহে এক রাতে মঙ্গলকোটের মাজিগ্রামের পরপর ৪ টি মন্দিরে হানা দিয়ে প্রাচীন মূর্তি ছাড়াও কয়েক হাজার টাকার স্বর্ণালঙ্কার ও কাঁসা পিতলের বাসনপত্র নিয়ে চম্পট দিয়েছিল দুষ্কৃতীদল । চুরি হওয়া মন্দিরগুলির মধ্যে রয়েছে মাজিগ্রামের শতাব্দী প্রাচীন গ্রাম্যদেবী শাকম্ভরী দেবীর মন্দিরও । খবর পেয়ে ঘটনাস্থলে তদন্তে যায় মঙ্গলকোট থানার পুলিশ ।স্থানীয় সূত্রে জানা গেছে, মাজিগ্রামের শাকম্ভরী দেবীর মন্দির,শাকম্ভরী মন্দিরের পাশে একটি শিবমন্দির, গ্রামের দত্ত পরিবারের কালী মন্দির এবং একটি নারায়ণ মন্দিরে গত সপ্তাহে এক রাতে হানা দিয়েছিল দুষ্কৃতীরা । তার মধ্যে শাকম্ভরী মন্দিরের একাধিক তালা ভেঙে লুটপাট চালানো হয়েছে । মন্দিরের সেবাইত স্বপন কুমার বটব্যাল জানান – ‘দেবীর পাথরের প্রতিমার সোনার চোখ, মাথার মুকুট, অষ্টধাতূর মঙ্গলচণ্ডীর মূর্তি,রূপোর সাপ ও রূপোর একটি শিবলিঙ্গ সহ প্রায় ৫০ হাজার টাকার গহনা চুরি হয়ে গিয়েছে’ । বাকি মন্দিরগুলিতে দেবদেবীর সোনারুপোর গহনাসহ নিত্যসেবার যাবতীয় কাঁসা পিতলের বাসনপত্র নিয়ে চম্পট দিয়েছিল দুষ্কৃতীদল । ঠিক এইরকম পরিস্থিতিতে মঙ্গলকোট থানার পুলিশ মন্দির চুরিতে বড়সড় সাফল্য পেল।জানা গেছে, মঙ্গলকোটের বিভিন্ন সড়কপথে বিশেষত মোড় গুলিতে উন্নতমানের সিসিটিভি ক্যামেরা বসিয়েছে স্থানীয় থানার পুলিশ। এলাকায় চুরি ছিনতাই রুখতে এবং তার কিনারা করতে মঙ্গলকোট থানায় রয়েছে অপরাধ দমন শাখা। সাব ইনস্পেকটর সামাউর রহমানের নেতৃত্বে জনা দশেক পুলিশ কর্মী রয়েছেন।

Temple attendant Swapan Kumar Botbyal said – ‘About 50,000 rupees worth of jewellery including golden eyes of the goddess’s stone idol, head crown, Ashtadhatur Mangalchandi idol, silver snake and a silver Shivalinga have been stolen’. In the rest of the temples, the miscreants ransacked the gold and silver ornaments of the gods and all the bronze and brass utensils of the daily service.
