মালদা: ফের জনবহুল এলাকায় আগুন ঘিরে আতঙ্ক ছড়াল মালদহের ইংরেজবাজার শহরে। শুক্রবার দুপুরে ইংরেজবাজার শহরের রবীন্দ্র এভিনিউ এলাকায় এক ইলেকট্রিক সামগ্রীর দোকানের উপরে আগুন লাগে। দোকানটির পাশে একাধিক বড় হোটেল রয়েছে। আগুন ঘিরে উদ্বিগ্ন শহর বাসী। ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছায় দমকলের দুটি ইঞ্জিন। তবে আগুনের মাত্রা বেশি থাকায় ভেতরে প্রবেশে বেগ পেতে হয় দমকল কর্মীদের। দুটি দমকল ইঞ্জিনের প্রচেষ্টায় প্রায় এক ঘণ্টা পর নিয়ন্ত্রণে আসে আগুন। এই বিষয়ে ইংলিশ বাজার পৌরসভার চেয়ারম্যান কৃষ্ণেন্দু নারায়ণ চৌধুরী জানান, খবর পাওয়া মাত্র তিনি ঘটনাস্থলে এসেছেন। দমকলের দুটি ইঞ্জিন ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছেছে। আগুন প্রায় নিয়ন্ত্রণে। নিচে ইলেকট্রিকের দোকান ছিল। তবে তার ওপরে বাড়ি বা দোকান নেই। সম্ভবত পুরনো কোন জিনিসপত্র মজুত ছিল সেখানে। অন্যদিকে নিচে থাকা ইলেকট্রিক দোকানের মালিক পূর্ণিমা চক্রবর্তী জানান, নিচে তার ইলেকট্রিক দোকান রয়েছে। উপরে সম্ভবত হারবালের দোকান ভাড়া নেওয়া ছিল।
