মালদা: মাটি ভরে নিকাশী নালার মুখ বন্ধ করে দেওয়ায় গত কয়েকদিনের টানা বৃষ্টিতে জলমগ্ন হয়ে পড়ল শতাধিক বাড়ি। ঘটনা মালদার ইংলিশ বাজার ব্লকের যদুপুর এক নম্বর গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতের মহারাজপুর কাঞ্চনটার এলাকার। এই এলাকার রাস্তা ঘাট এবং বাড়িতে জল ঢুকে যাওয়ায় সমস্যায় পড়েছেন গ্রামবাসীরা। অবশেষে গ্রামবাসীদের নিয়ে বন্ধ হয়ে যাওয়া সেই নিকাশী নালার মুখ খননের উদ্যোগ নেন ইংলিশ বাজার পঞ্চায়েত সমিতির বিদায়ী সদস্য তথা গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতের তৃণমূল প্রার্থী এমডি আজিজুর রহমান। এছাড়াও উপস্থিত ছিলেন পঞ্চায়েত সমিতির প্রার্থী সুবীর দাস সহ অন্যান্যরা। জেসিপি দিয়ে চলে নিকাশি নালার মুখ খননের কাজ। কয়েক ঘন্টার প্রচেষ্টায় বন্ধ হয়ে যাওয়া নিকাশী নালার মুখ পুনরায় খনন করা হয়।
MALDA: Hundreds of houses were submerged due to the continuous rains of the last few days due to the filling up of sewage drains. The incident occurred in the Maharajpur Kanchantar area of Jadupur’s number one village panchayat of the English Bazar block in Malda. The villagers are facing problems due to water entering the roads and houses of this area. Finally, MD Azizur Rahman, an outgoing member of English Bazar Panchayat Samiti and Trinamool candidate of Gram Panchayat, took the initiative to dig the mouth of the sewage canal which was closed with the villagers. Panchayat Samiti candidate Subir Das and others were also present. Excavation of the mouth of the drainage channel is carried out by JCP. After a few hours of effort re-excavated the mouth of the blocked drain.
