জয়দীপ মৈত্র,দক্ষিণ দিনাজপুর: হালকা বৃষ্টিতেই রাজ্য সড়ক রূপ নিয়েছে যেন চাষের ক্ষেতে। ওই রাস্তা দিয়ে যাতায়াত করতে গিয়ে সমস্যায় পড়ছেন পথ চলতি সাধারণ মানুষ থেকে শুরু করে স্থানীয় বাসিন্দারা। দক্ষিণ দিনাজপুর জেলার এই ১০ নম্বর রাজ্য সড়ক বুনিয়াদপুর থেকে রায়গঞ্জ পর্যন্ত প্রায় পঞ্চাশ কিলোমিটার। তার মধ্যে কুশমন্ডি থেকে বুনিয়াদপুর পর্যন্ত প্রায় ১৫ কিলোমিটার রাস্তার বেহাল দশা। রাস্তার মাঝে কোথাও এক হাঁটু জল, কোথাও বা বড় বড় গর্ত। এমনি দুর্ভোগের চিত্র দেখা গেল দক্ষিণ দিনাজপুর জেলার বুনিয়াদপুর ও কুশমন্ডি ১০ নম্বর রাজ্য সড়কের সর্বত্র। বর্ষা শুরুর আগেই রাস্তার কাজ অসম্পূর্ণ থাকায় রাজ্য সড়ক কর্তৃপক্ষের বিরুদ্ধে ক্ষোভে সরব হয়েছেন স্থানীয় বাসিন্দারা।
উল্লেখ্য,এই রাস্তা উত্তর দিনাজপুর ও দক্ষিণ দিনাজপুরকে সংযোগ স্থাপন করেছে। শিলিগুড়ি যাওয়ার একমাত্র মাধ্যম এই রাস্তা। কালদিঘির মত সুপার স্পেশালিটি হাসপাতালে যাওয়ার একমাত্র অবলম্বন এই রাস্তাটি।কুশমন্ডি হাসপাতাল থেকে কোনো রোগীকে কালদিঘি সুপার স্পেশালিটি হাসপাতালে স্থানান্তরিত করা হলে অ্যাম্বুলেন্স চালকদেরও পোহাতে হচ্ছে দুর্ভোগ এই রাজ্য সড়কের বেহাল অবস্থার জন্য। যদিও টালমাটাল ভাবে রাস্তার কাজ থমকে আছে , এমনটাই অভিযোগ।কোথাও বা রাস্তার পিচ উঠে যাওয়ায় প্রলেপ হিসেবে দেওয়া হয়েছে ভাঙ্গা ইটের টুকরো। অসম্পূর্ণ রাস্তার কাজ দ্রুত সম্পন্ন করার দাবিতে একাধিকবার জানিয়েছেন এলাকার বাসিন্দারা। তাছাড়া মোটরবাইক ও চার চাকার যানবাহন ও টোটো ওই রাস্তা দিয়ে নিয়ে যেতে চরম দুর্ভোগে পড়ছেন চালকেরা। গর্তের মধ্যে আটকে যাচ্ছে বাইকের চাকা, ঠেলে ঠেলে বাইক নিয়ে যেতে রীতিমত নাজেহাল অবস্থা হচ্ছে বাইক চালকদের। এই নিয়ে এই ১০ নম্বর রাজ্য সড়ক কর্তৃপক্ষের বিরুদ্ধে ক্ষোভ উজাড় করছেন স্থানীয় বাসিন্দারা।
এই বিষয়ে এলাকার এক বাসিন্দা দিবাকর রায় বলেন, “রাস্তার যা বেহাল দশা তাতে যে কোন মুহূর্তে বড় ধরনের দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে যেতে পারে। সামনেই দুর্গোৎসব এই রাজ্য সড়কের ধারেই আমাদের মন্ডপ তৈরি হয়।পূজার আগে রাস্তার অবস্থা যদি ঠিক না হয় তাহলে জনসাধারণ আরোও চরম বিপাকে পড়বে।
এ বিষয়ে কুশমন্ডি ব্লকের বিডিও অমরজ্যোতি সরকার জানান, মূলত জল নিকাশি ব্যবস্থার জন্যই রাস্তার এই বেহাল দশা। আমরা আমাদের টিমকে দিয়ে ওই জায়গাগুলি পরিদর্শন করাচ্ছি, যাতে দ্রুত নিকাশি ব্যবস্থার সমাধান করা যায়।
Joydeep Maitra, South Dinajpur: The state highway has turned into a farming field due to light rain. From ordinary people to residents are facing problems while travelling on that road. This state highway number 10 of the South Dinajpur district is about fifty kilometres from Buniadpur to Raiganj. Among them, about 15 km of road from Kushmondi to Buniyadpur is in poor condition. Somewhere in the middle of the road is a knee of water, somewhere or big potholes. Such a picture of suffering was seen everywhere on State Highway No. 10 Buniyadpur and Kushmondi in South Dinajpur district. The residents have expressed their anger against the State Road Authority as the road work was incomplete before the onset of the monsoon. Note that this road connects North Dinajpur and South Dinajpur. This road is the only way to Siliguri. This road is the only recourse to super speciality hospitals like Kaldighi. When a patient is shifted from Kushmandi Hospital to Kaldighi Super Specialty Hospital, the ambulance drivers also have to suffer because of the bad condition of this state road. Although the road work has stopped in a tumultuous manner, this is the complaint. Somewhere, because the pitch of the road has gone up, pieces of broken bricks have been given as coating. Residents of the area have repeatedly expressed their demand for quick completion of incomplete road work. Moreover, the drivers are facing extreme hardships to take motorbikes, four-wheelers and totos through that road. The bike wheels are getting stuck in the hole, the bikers are in a difficult situation to push the bike. Residents are venting their anger against this number 10 state highway authority. Dibakar Roy, a resident of the area, said, “Due to the bad condition of the road, a major accident can happen at any moment. Our mandap is built on the side of the state road ahead of Durgotsava. If the condition of the road is not fixed before the puja, the public will be in more dire straits. Amarjyoti Sarkar, BDO of Kushmondi Block, said that the poor condition of the road is mainly due to the water drainage system. We are inspecting those places with our team so that the drainage system can be solved quickly.
