কলকাতা, ৩ ডিসেম্বর ২০২৪: ভেরি লার্জ স্কেল ইন্টিগ্রেশন ডিজাইন বা ভি.এল.এস.আই ডিজাইন তথা সেমিকন্ডাক্টর উৎপাদন শিল্প ভারতের অর্থনৈতিক উন্নতিতে যথেষ্ট অবদান রেখে চলেছে। তারই অঙ্গ হিসেবে ৩৭তম ভি.এল.এস.আই ডিজাইনের আন্তর্জাতিক সম্মেলন এবং ২৩ আন্তর্জাতিক এমবেডেড সিস্টেম সম্মেলন তিলোত্তমা কলকাতার বুকে অনুষ্ঠিত হতে চলেছে। পশ্চিমবঙ্গ রাজ্য সরকারের সক্রিয় সহায়তায় আগামী ৬ থেকে ১০ জানুয়ারি ২০২৪ আইটিসি রয়্যাল বেঙ্গলে অনুষ্ঠিত হবে।
ভি.এল.এস.আই তথা সেমিকন্ডাক্টর শিল্পের সঙ্গে যুক্ত শিল্প সংস্থা, শিক্ষাবিদ, স্টার্টআপ উদ্যোগী প্রায় সহস্রাধিক প্রতিনিধি পাঁচদিন মহানগরে এই সম্মেলনে যোগ দেবেন। এ বছরের আন্তর্জাতিক সম্মেলনের থিম “ভিএলএসআই মিটস এআই অ্যান্ড কোয়ান্টাম ফর সাইবার ফিজিক্যাল সিস্টেমস’। অর্থাৎ কৃত্রিম বুদ্ধিমত্তা ও কোয়ান্টাম কম্পিউটারের ফলিত প্রয়োগে ভিএলএসআই আধুনিক করার প্রক্রিয়া নিয়ে আলোচনা চলবে এই আন্তর্জাতিক সম্মেলনে। ভারতের অর্থনীতির পাঁচ ট্রিলিয়ন ডলারে পৌঁছানোর যে লক্ষ্যমাত্রা ধার্য হয়েছে তাতে ইলেক্ট্রনিক সেমিকন্ডাক্টরের অবদান প্রায় এক ট্রিলিয়ন ডলার থাকবে বলে পূর্বাভাস। ভারত সরকারের ন্যাশানাল পলিসি অন ইলেক্ট্রনিক্স ২০১৯-এ যথার্থই সেমিকন্ডাক্টর শিল্পে জোর দেওয়ার কথা উল্লেখ করেছে। এই ইতিবাচক পরিমন্ডলে অনুষ্ঠিত হতে চলেছে এই আন্তর্জাতিক সম্মেলন। সম্মলনের সাধারণ সভাপতি তথা ইন্ডিয়ান ইনস্টিটিউট অফ সায়েন্স অ্যান্ড টেকনোলজি, শিবপুরের অধ্যাপক ড: হাফিজুর রহমান বলেন, “এই সম্মেলন পশ্চিমবঙ্গের জন্য বিশাল সম্ভাবনার দরজা খুলে দেবে। শুধু এই রাজ্য নয় সমগ্র পূর্ব ভারতের জন্যই সুখবর বয়ে আনবে এই সম্মেলন। আমাদের বিশ্বাস পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকারের সক্রিয় সহায়তায় এই রাজ্য ‘সেমিকন্ডাক্টর প্রডাক্ট রাজ্য’ হিসেবে পরিগণিত হবে। এই শিল্প স্থাপনের জন্য জমি অধিগ্রহনের প্রয়োজন নেই। আমাদের রাজ্যে রয়েছে প্রচুর তরুণ প্রতিভাবান ছাত্র-ছাত্রী যারা এই শিল্পের অগ্রগতিতে অবদান রাখতে পারবে। আমাদের বিশ্বাস ভি.এল.এস.আই তথা সেমিকন্ডাক্টর ক্ষেত্রে সঠিক অভিনিবেশ করলে প্রতি বছর ১০ হাজার তরুণের কর্মসংস্থান করা সম্ভব হবে।”
সম্মেলনে ৮০টি উন্নত মানের আই.ই.ই গবেষণাপত্র প্রকাশিত হবে। তরুণ প্রজন্মের জন্য ১০টি টিউটোরিয়াল সেসন অনুষ্ঠিত হবে। বিভিন্ন শিল্প সংস্থার প্রায় ১০০টি স্টল প্রদর্শিত হবে। ভি.এল.এস.আই পাঠরত ৩০০ ছাত্র-ছাত্রী ও গবেষককে ফেলোশিপও প্রদান করা হবে আয়োজকদের পক্ষ থেকে। সম্মেলনে এমআইটি, স্ট্যানফোর্ড বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, টেক্সাস বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, ওসাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, ন্যাশানাল ইউনিভার্সিটি অফ সিঙ্গাপুরসহ বিভিন্ন আন্তর্জাতিক খ্যাতি সম্পন্ন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের গবেষক-অধ্যাপকেরা যোগ দিচ্ছেন। মাইক্রোসফ্ট, গুগল, ইন্টেল, কোয়ালকম, আইবিএম, এইচ.সি.এল, জুনিপার, স্যামসাঙ সহ বহুজাতিক সংস্থাও উপস্থিত থাকবে ও নতুন উদ্ভাবন প্রদর্শিত হবে।

Kolkata, 3 December 2024: The Very Large Scale Integration Design or VLSI design and semiconductor manufacturing industry continues to contribute significantly to India’s economic growth. As part of the 37th V.L.SThe International Conference on iDesign and 23rd International Embedded Systems Conference are going to be held at Tilottama, Kolkata. ITC will be held at Royal Bengal from 6th to 10th January 2024 with the active support of West Bengal State Government.
V.L.SNearly a thousand representatives of industrial organizations, academics, startups associated with the semiconductor industry will attend this conference in the metropolis for five days. The theme of this year’s international conference is “VLSI Meets AI and Quantum for Cyber-Physical Systems”That is, the process of modernizing VLSI in the practical application of artificial intelligence and quantum computers will be discussed in this international conference. Electronic semiconductors are expected to contribute about $1 trillion to India’s $5 trillion economy. The Government of India’s National Policy on Electronics 2019 rightly mentions the emphasis on the semiconductor industry. This international conference is going to be held in this positive atmosphere. General President of the conference and professor of Indian Institute of Science and Technology, Shibpur Dr. Hafizur Rahman said, “This conference will open the doors of great possibilities for West Bengal. This conference will bring good news not only for this state but also for the entire East IndiaWe believe that with the active support of West Bengal Government this state will be considered as ‘Semiconductor Product State’. No land acquisition is required for setting up this industry. Our state has a lot of young talented students who can contribute to the advancement of this industry. We believe in VLSIf proper investment is made in the semiconductor sector, it will be possible to provide employment to 10,000 youth every year.”
80 high quality IE research papers will be published in the conference. 10 tutorial sessions will be held for the younger generation. Around 100 stalls of various industry organizations will be displayed. V.L.S300 students and researchers studying I will also be given fellowship by the organizers. Researchers and professors from various internationally renowned universities including MIT, Stanford University, University of Texas, Osaka University, National University of Singapore are participating in the conference. Multinational companies including Microsoft, Google, Intel, Qualcomm, IBM, HCL, Juniper, Samsung will also be present and new innovations will be displayed
