কলকাতাঃ আকস্মিক এক ভয়াবহ অগ্নিকাণ্ডে ভস্মীভূত কলকাতার ই এম বাইপাস সংলগ্ন আনন্দপুর বস্তির একাংশ। গত রবিবার কমপক্ষে ৫০টি’র বেশি ঝুপড়ি ঘর ও দোকান সম্পূর্ণ পুড়ে ছাই হয়ে যায়। ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত বস্তিবাসীদের ঠাঁই হয়েছে অস্থায়ী ক্যাম্পে। এবার তাদের সহযোগিতার জন্য আর্থিক সহ নানা সাহায্য নিয়ে হাত বাড়িয়ে দিল ভারত সেবাশ্রম সংঘ। সংঘের প্রধান সম্পাদক স্বামী বিশ্বাত্মানন্দ মহারাজের উদ্যোগে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত বস্তিবাসীদের হাতে তুলে দেওয়া হল কম্বল, চাদর, কাপড়, থালা, বাসন, হাঁড়ি, শুকনো খাবার ও নগদ টাকা। ত্রাণ সামগ্রী তুলে দেন সংঘের সন্ন্যাসী স্বামী আত্মজ্ঞানন্দ, স্বামী সত্যমিত্রানন্দ, স্বামী ভেঙ্কোটাসানন্দ, স্বামী মহাদেবানন্দ এবং দক্ষিণ কলকাতার সাংসদ ও কলকাতা পুরসভার চেয়ারপার্সন মালা রায়। মালা রায় বলেন, বস্তিবাসীদের সব ধরনের সহযোগিতা করা হচ্ছে। এর পাশাপাশি পুরসভার উদ্যোগে দ্রুত তাদের নতুন বাড়ি বানিয়ে দেওয়ার উদ্যোগ নেওয়া হচ্ছে।
Kolkata: A portion of Anandpur slum adjacent to Kolkata’s EM Bypass was gutted in a sudden fire. Last Sunday at least more than 50 huts and shops were completely burnt to ashes. The affected slum dwellers have been accommodated in temporary camps. This time, Bharat Sevashram Sangh extended its hand with various financial and other help for their cooperation. Blankets, sheets, clothes, plates, utensils, pots, dry food and cash were handed over to the affected slum dwellers on the initiative of Swami Biswatmananda Maharaj, chief secretary of the Sangh. Sangha monks Swami Atmajnananda, Swami Satyamitrananda, Swami Venkotasananda, Swami Mahadevananda and Mala Roy, Member of Parliament for South Calcutta and Chairperson of Calcutta Municipality gave the relief materials. Mala Roy said that the slum dwellers are being given all kinds of support. In addition to this, initiatives are being taken to quickly build new houses for them under the initiative of the municipality.
