কলকাতাঃ উত্তর কলকাতা জেলার ইন্টার কলেজ স্টেট স্পোর্টস অ্যান্ড গেমস চ্যাম্পিয়ানশিপ ২০২৩-২৪ অনুষ্ঠিত হয়ে গেল ১ থেকে ৩রা মার্চ। কলকাতার বাগমারিতে স্কটিশচার্চ কলেজের খেলার মাঠে উত্তর কলকাতার ২৪টি কলেজের ছাত্রছাত্রীরা প্রায় দশটি স্পোর্টস ইভেন্টে অংশগ্রহণ করেন। নব্বই বছরের ঐতিহ্যবাহী ভিক্টোরিয়া ইন্সটিটিউশন কলেজ এই টুর্নামেন্টের আয়োজন করে। ভিক্টোরিয়া কলেজের ছাত্রীদের একটি ছোট ও মনোগ্রাহী সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠান দিয়ে প্রতিযোগিতার সূচনা হয়। প্রথম দুদিন ছিল ফুটবল এবং খো-খো টুর্নামেন্ট। তৃতীয়দিন ছিল রান, জ্যাভলিন থ্রো, ডিসকাস থ্রো, শট-পাট, অ্যাথেলেটিক্স। পুরষ্কার বিতরণী এবং সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠান দিয়ে এই তিন দিন ব্যাপী প্রতিযোগিতার সমাপ্তি হয়। সরকারি পরিদর্শক শ্রীমতী গিরিজা বসু ও কলকাতা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের স্পোর্টস অফিসার রিপ্রেসেন্টেটিভ চন্ডী কর তিনদিনই মাঠে উপস্থিত ছিলেন। ভিক্টোরিয়া কলেজের অধ্যক্ষা ডঃ মৈত্রেয়ী রায় কাঞ্জিলাল বলেন, ছেলে মেয়েদের খেলাধুলার প্রতি উৎসাহ প্রতিটি ইভেন্টেই চোখে পড়ে। অন্যান্যদের মধ্যে উপস্থিত ছিলেন, প্রতিযোগিতার পরিচালন গোষ্ঠীর সেক্রেটারি ডঃ বাসরী হালদার, যুগ্ম সেক্রেটারি বাসুদেব সিদ্ধা, কলেজের আই কিউ এ সি-র কো-অর্ডিনেটর ডঃ সুমাল্য কর্মকার, অধ্যাপক ডঃ সুদীপ কুমার সিনহা,ড.শুভেন্দু চন্দ প্রমুখ।
Kolkata: North Kolkata District Inter College State Sports and Games Championship 2023-24 was held from 1st to 3rd March. Students from 24 North Kolkata colleges participated in around ten sports events at the Scottish Church College playground in Bagmari, Kolkata. The tournament is organized by the 90-year tradition of Victoria Institution College. The competition started with a short and interesting cultural program by the students of Victoria College. The first two days were football and kho-kho tournaments. The third day was Run, Javelin Throw, Discus Throw, Shot-Put, Athletics. The three-day long competition concluded with prize distribution and cultural programme. Government Inspector Mrs. Girija Basu and Calcutta University Sports Officer Representative Chandi Kar were present on the ground on all three days. Dr. Maitreyi Roy Kanjilal, principal of Victoria College, said that the enthusiasm of boys and girls towards sports is visible in every event. Among others, the Secretary of the Competition Management Group Dr. Vasari Halder, Joint Secretary Vasudev Siddha, Coordinator of College IQAC Dr. Sumalya Karmakar, Prof. Dr. Sudeep Kumar Sinha, Dr. Shuvendu Chand etc. were present.
