কলকাতা, ৫জানুয়ারি, ২০২৬: পশ্চিমবঙ্গ গার্মেন্টস ম্যানুফ্যাকচারার্স অ্যান্ড ডিলার্স অ্যাসোসিয়েশন (WBGMDA) কর্তৃক আয়োজিত ৫৯তম গার্মেন্টস সম্মেলন এবং বি২বি এক্সপো-র মাধ্যমে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের পোশাক শিল্প প্রাণবন্ত হয়ে উঠেছে। ৫থেকে ৭ই জানুয়ারি, ২০২৬ পর্যন্ত তিন দিনব্যাপী এই আয়োজনটি কলকাতার সায়েন্স সিটিতে ২ লক্ষ বর্গফুট এলাকা জুড়ে অনুষ্ঠিত হচ্ছে। ৬১ বছর ধরে শিল্পের একটি অবিচ্ছেদ্য অংশ হিসেবে থাকা এই অ্যাসোসিয়েশন দ্বারা আয়োজিত অনুষ্ঠানটি উল্লেখযোগ্য ব্যবসায়িক সুযোগ তৈরি করবে বলে আশা করা হচ্ছে। এই ৫৯তম গার্মেন্টস ক্রেতা ও বিক্রেতা সম্মেলন এবং বি২বি এক্সপোতে ১০০০-এরও বেশি জাতীয় ও আন্তর্জাতিক ব্র্যান্ড অংশ নিচ্ছে, যেখানে শিশু, পুরুষ এবং মহিলাদের জন্য তৈরি পোশাকের এক বিশাল সম্ভার প্রদর্শিত হচ্ছে এবং এটি পাইকারি বাজারে প্রায় ১৫০০ কোটি টাকার বাণিজ্যিক লেনদেন ঘটাবে বলে অনুমান করা হচ্ছে। রাজ্যের অর্থনীতিতে এই অনুষ্ঠানের গুরুত্ব তুলে ধরেছেন রাজ্য সরকারের প্রতিনিধি এবং শীর্ষস্থানীয় ব্যবসায়ী ও বিশিষ্ট কর্পোরেট সংস্থাগুলির কর্তাব্যক্তিরা, যারা অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন। এটি রাজ্যের অর্থনীতিকে চাঙ্গা করার ক্ষেত্রে অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের প্রচেষ্টার গুরুত্ব প্রমাণ করে। অনুষ্ঠানটির উদ্বোধন করেন: পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকারের দমকল বিভাগের প্রতিমন্ত্রী শ্রী সুজিত বসু; কলকাতার ডেপুটি মেয়র শ্রী অতীন ঘোষ; কাউন্সিলর ও বরো কো-অর্ডিনেটর শ্রীমতি রেহানা খাতুন; এবং আরও অনেক বিশিষ্ট ব্যক্তিবর্গ, যাদের মধ্যে ছিলেন WBGMDA-এর সভাপতি শ্রী হরি কিষাণ রাঠি; WBGMDA-এর সিনিয়র ভাইস প্রেসিডেন্ট শ্রী বিজয় কারিওয়ালা; WBGMDA-এর ভাইস প্রেসিডেন্ট শ্রী প্রদীপ মুরারকা; WBGMDA-এর অনারারি সেক্রেটারি শ্রী দেবেন্দ্র বাইদ এবং কার্যনির্বাহী কমিটির সদস্য শ্রী মনীশ আগরওয়াল।

Kolkata, 5th January 2026: The West Bengal garment industry comes alive with the 59th Garment Meet and B2B Expo, being held over three days from 5th to 7th January 2026, at Science City, Kolkata, spanning 2 lakh sqft. area. This event, organized by the West Bengal Garment Manufacturers and Dealers Association (WBGMDA), which has been a pivotal part of the industry for 61 years, is expected to create significant business prospects. More than 1,000 national and international brands will be featured at the 59th Garment Buyers & Sellers Meet & B2B Expo, showcasing a wide selection of readymade garments for kids, men, and women. The event is projected to generate commercial dealings valued at around Rs. 1,500 crore in the wholesale market. The significance of the event for the state’s economy was underlined by the presence of the State Government and leading businessmen and prominent corporate houses who attended the event, demonstrating the significance of the Association’s endeavor in boosting the State economy. The event was inaugurated by: Sri. Sujit Bose, Minister of State for Fire, Govt. of WB; Sri. Atin Ghosh, Deputy Mayor of Kolkata; Smt. Rehana Khatun, Councillor & Borough Co-ordinator, along with notable figures such as Sri. Hari Kishan Rathi, President of WBGMDA; Sri. Vijay Kariwala, Senior Vice President of WBGMDA; Sri. On this occasion, Sri. About WBGMDA: The West Bengal Garment Manufacturers and Dealers Association is one of the leading organizations in Eastern India, representing the ready-made garment industry and its commerce. Founded in 1962, the organization offers specialized services with the goal of promoting the growth of the ready-made clothing sector. The Bharat Chamber of Commerce is in charge of its operations.
