Kolkata, August 2, 2026: The Merlin CSJC Football Tournament 2026 concluded today at the football ground of Merlin Rise – The Sports Republic, with Kolkata’s sports journalists displaying remarkable sporting spirit and competitive football in a series of thrilling matches. The two-day tournament was jointly organized by the Calcutta Sports Journalists’ Club (CSJC) and Merlin Group. In the Print Media category, Jago Bangla defeated Ei Samay 3-0 in the final to lift the championship trophy, while in the Electronic & Digital Media category, Biswa Bangla.com registered an impressive 3-0 victory over TV9 Bangla to emerge champions. Former Indian footballers Krishnendu Roy and Alvito D’Cunha presented the trophies to the champion and runner-up teams during the prize distribution ceremony.
