Kolkata | 25 January 2026, In observance of National Voters’ Day, Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), Kolkata South, successfully organised a Voter Awareness Rally (Padyatra) on 25 January 2026, aimed at promoting informed, ethical, and participative electoral engagement, particularly among youth and first-time voters. The rally commenced from Jadavpur University and culminated at South City, drawing enthusiastic participation from young volunteers and citizens. The programme was conducted in alignment with the vision of Jan Bhagidari and youth-led nation-building, reinforcing the importance of democratic participation.

Pradhan, District Youth Officer, MY Bharat, Kolkata South, who addressed the participants and highlighted the crucial role of youth in strengthening India’s democracy. Other important guests present included Vidyasagarji, the organising secretary of ABVP, Kolkata; Arjunji, head of the Jadavpur Unit of ABVP; Sujay Chatterjee, a social worker and human rights activist; and Miss Aritri Dey, My Bharat programme coordinator. The rally was flagged off by Vidyasagarji, AVBP organising secretary, marking the formal commencement of the event.
A toSecretary MY Bharat volunteers actively participated in the rally, carrying voter awareness messages and engaging with the public to encourage responsible electoral participation. As part of the celebration, 25 newly registered voters were felicitated, acknowledging their entry into the democratic process and motivating other eligible youth to register and vote. Mera Yuva Bharat, Kolkata South, remains committed to empowering youth as ambassadors of democracy and will continue to undertake initiatives that foster active citizenship and participatory governance. This programme puts emphasis on a free and fair election process and why the participation of youth is necessary in that process.
