কলকাতা, 3 জানুয়ারি 2026: দুর্গাপুর ক্লাব সামান্নাই আয়োজিত লালবাবা রাইস দুর্গাপুর স্পোর্টস কার্নিভাল 2026-এর অধীনে একটি মার্কি ইভেন্ট, দুর্গাপুর আন্তর্জাতিক ম্যারাথন 2026-এর উদ্বোধনের মাধ্যমে দুর্গাপুর ভারতের ক্রীড়া ক্যালেন্ডারে তার চিহ্ন তৈরি করতে প্রস্তুত। সমমনা নাগরিকদের একটি দল দ্বারা প্রতিষ্ঠিত, দুর্গাপুর ক্লাব সামান্নে দুর্গাপুর এবং পার্শ্ববর্তী জেলাগুলিতে যুব ক্ষমতায়ন এবং সমাজকল্যাণের লক্ষ্যে ক্রীড়া ও সাংস্কৃতিক কার্যক্রমের উন্নয়নে প্রতিশ্রুতিবদ্ধ।
দুর্গাপুর আন্তর্জাতিক ম্যারাথন 2026-‘ঐক্যের জন্য দৌড়’-রবিবার, 25 জানুয়ারী 2026-এ অনুষ্ঠিত হবে এবং এটি সারা ভারত এবং বিদেশ থেকে দৌড়বিদদের আকর্ষণ করবে বলে আশা করা হচ্ছে। ম্যারাথনে চারটি রেস বিভাগ থাকবেঃ
21 কিমি (হাফ ম্যারাথন)
10 কিমি 5 কিমি 2 কিমি (মজার দৌড়)
21 কিলোমিটার এবং 10 কিলোমিটার বিভাগের জন্য মোট 25 লক্ষ টাকার পুরস্কার সহ, এই অনুষ্ঠানের লক্ষ্য হল জনসাধারণের অংশগ্রহণকে উৎসাহিত করার পাশাপাশি প্রতিযোগিতামূলক উৎকর্ষকে উৎসাহিত করা। সমস্ত নিবন্ধিত দৌড়বিদরা অফিসিয়াল টি-শার্ট, ফিনিশার পদক এবং ডিজিটাল সময়োপযোগী শংসাপত্র পাবেন। ম্যারাথনটি লালবাবা রাইস দুর্গাপুর স্পোর্টস কার্নিভাল 2026-এর অন্যতম প্রধান আকর্ষণ, যা ব্যাডমিন্টন, বাস্কেটবল, খো-খো, টেবিল টেনিস, ফুটবল এবং ক্রিকেট সহ ইনডোর এবং আউটডোর উভয় বিভাগ সমন্বিত একটি উচ্চাভিলাষী বহু-ক্রীড়া উৎসব, যেখানে পুরুষ এবং মহিলা উভয়ের জন্য প্রতিযোগিতা রয়েছে। এই উদ্যোগকে উল্লেখযোগ্যভাবে উৎসাহিত করে, বেঙ্গল অলিম্পিক অ্যাসোসিয়েশন (বিওএ) ক্রীড়া কার্নিভ্যালে তার সমর্থন বাড়িয়েছে, তৃণমূল প্রতিভা লালন এবং রাজ্য, জাতীয় এবং আন্তর্জাতিক প্রতিনিধিত্বের জন্য তরুণ ক্রীড়াবিদদের প্রস্তুত করার অভিন্ন দৃষ্টিভঙ্গিকে শক্তিশালী করেছে।
ভারতীয় ক্রিকেট দলের প্রাক্তন অধিনায়ক শ্রী সৌরভ গাঙ্গুলি, প্রাক্তন ভারতীয় ফুটবল খেলোয়াড় শ্রী জোসে ব্যারেটো, চলচ্চিত্র অভিনেত্রী শ্রীমতী পূজা ব্যানার্জি, মিসেস সাইনি সরকার, মিসেস ইন্ডিয়া, ভারতীয় ফুটবল অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের (আইএফএ) সভাপতি শ্রী অজিত ব্যানার্জি, বেঙ্গল অলিম্পিক অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের (আইএফএ) সভাপতি শ্রী চন্দন রায় চৌধুরী, লালবাবা রাইসের (টাইটেল স্পনসর) শ্রী পার্থ সারথি নন্দী, দুর্গাপুর ক্লাব সামান্নের সভাপতি শ্রী সন্দীপ দে এবং রেস ডিরেক্টর শ্রী প্রশান্ত সাহা সহ ক্রীড়া, বিনোদন এবং প্রশাসনের বিশ্বের বেশ কয়েকজন বিশিষ্ট ব্যক্তিত্ব এই অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত থাকবেন বলে আশা করা হচ্ছে।
এই উপলক্ষে বক্তব্য রাখতে গিয়ে দুর্গাপুর ক্লাব সামান্নের সভাপতি শ্রী সন্দীপ দে বলেন, “দুর্গাপুর আন্তর্জাতিক ম্যারাথন এবং স্পোর্টস কার্নিভাল এই অঞ্চলে একটি শক্তিশালী ক্রীড়া সংস্কৃতি গড়ে তোলার এবং পরবর্তী প্রজন্মকে খেলাধুলার মাধ্যমে ফিটনেস, শৃঙ্খলা এবং শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব গ্রহণ করতে অনুপ্রাণিত করার জন্য আমাদের বিনীত প্রচেষ্টা।

Durgapur to Host Inaugural Durgapur International Marathon 2026 as Part of Grand Sports Carnival
Kolkata, 3rd January 2026: Durgapur is set to make its mark on India’s sporting calendar with the launch of the inaugural Durgapur International Marathon 2026, a marquee event under the Lalbaba Rice Durgapur Sports Carnival 2026, organised by Durgapur Club Samannay. Founded by a group of like-minded citizens, Durgapur Club Samannay is committed to the development of sports and cultural activities aimed at youth empowerment and social welfare across Durgapur and neighbouring districts.
The Durgapur International Marathon 2026—’Run for Unity’—will be held on Sunday, 25 January 2026, and is expected to attract runners from across India and overseas. The marathon will feature four race categories:
21 km (Half Marathon)
10 km
5 km
2 km (Fun Run)
With a total prize purse of 25 lakh for the 21 km and 10 km categories, the event aims to encourage competitive excellence while promoting mass participation. All registered runners will receive official T-shirts, finisher medals, and digitally timed certificates. The marathon is one of the prime highlights of the Lalbaba Rice Durgapur Sports Carnival 2026, an ambitious multi-sport festival featuring both indoor and outdoor disciplines, including badminton, basketball, kho-kho, table tennis, football, and cricket, with competitions for both men and women. In a significant boost to the initiative, the Bengal Olympic Association (BOA) has extended its support to the sports carnival, reinforcing the shared vision of nurturing grassroots talent and preparing young athletes for state, national, and international representation.
Several eminent personalities from the worlds of sports, entertainment, and administration are expected to attend the event, including Mr Sourav Ganguly, former Indian cricket team captain; Mr Jose Barreto, former Indian footballer; Ms Puja Banerjee, film actress; Ms Saini Sarkar, Mrs India; Mr Ajit Banerjee, president of the Indian Football Association (IFA); Mr Chandan Roy Choudhury, president of the Bengal Olympic Association; Mr Partha Sarathi Nandy, Lalbaba Rice (title sponsor); Mr Sundeep De, president of the Durgapur Club Samannay; and Mr Prasanta Saha, race director.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Sundeep De, President of Durgapur Club Samannay, said, “The Durgapur International Marathon and Sports Carnival is our humble effort to build a strong sporting culture in the region and inspire the next generation to adopt fitness, discipline, and excellence through sports.”
