কলকাতা ফ্ল্যাগ-অফের তারিখ: 10 ফেব্রুয়ারী, 2025 দূরত্ব: 320 কিলোমিটার ফেরতের তারিখ: 20 ফেব্রুয়ারী, 2025 নৌকার ধরণ: তিমি (একটি 27 ফুট নন মোটরাইজড বোট) চলাচলের প্রক্রিয়া: ওআরএস এবং সেল কেবল দলের মাধ্যমে আকার: 7 দলের সদস্যদের নাম: তাপস চৌধুরী, আশিম মন্ডাই, পুসপেন সামন্ত, মোমিন আলী মন্ডাল, বিশ্বাস আমরা আপনার সাথে ভাগ করে নিতে পেরে আনন্দিত যে সি এক্সপ্লোরারস ইনস্টিটিউট সফলভাবে এর 28 তম অভিযানটি সম্পন্ন করেছে। আমরা সম্ভবত ভারতের একমাত্র কুলুঙ্গি অলাভজনক সংস্থা যা একদিকে রিভারাইন এবং মেরিন অ্যাডভেঞ্চারের চৌরাস্তা এবং অন্যদিকে জলজ দুর্যোগ পরিচালনার ক্ষেত্রে কাজ করে। কলকাতা থেকে ডায়মন্ড হারবার পর্যন্ত যাত্রা মসৃণ ছিল। এর আগে বিদ্যমান চ্যানেলগুলির মধ্যে একটি এখন পুরোপুরি সিলড হয়েছে, সুতরাং একজনকে খোলা সমুদ্রে প্রবেশ করতে হয়েছিল। দলটি ঘোরামারার দিকে গেল, একটি দ্বীপ যা প্রাকৃতিক বাঁধগুলির অবিচ্ছিন্ন ক্ষয়ের কারণে দিন দিন ছোট হয়ে যাচ্ছে। এমনকি 10 নটিক্যাল মাইলের একটি সাধারণ উইন্ডস্পিডে, আমাদের মতো ছোট ছোট নৌকাগুলির জন্য একজনকে অত্যন্ত সতর্কতাতে হবে। এই অঞ্চলে প্রচুর বার্জগুলি চালিত হয় যা এটিকে আরও কঠিন করে তোলে। দলটি একটি বাংলাদেশী বার্জে বিভক্ত হয়ে দুটিতে বিভক্ত হয়েছে। সাগরকে ডানদিকে রেখে দলটি সরাসরি মৌসুনি দ্বীপের দিকে চলে গেল। একটি শক্ত কাঠের পয়েন্টটি অতিক্রম করার পরে ম্যানগ্রোভগুলি প্রচুর পরিমাণে পাওয়া যাবে। বারবার মানচিত্র পড়ার পরে, একজনকে রুটটি নির্ধারণ করতে হয়েছিল। কয়েক কিলোমিটারের জন্য বে বেঙ্গলে বেঁধে দেওয়ার পরে, নৌকাটি সুসনি দ্বীপের দিকে রওনা হয়েছিল। দলের সদস্যদের কেউই এর আগে কখনও এই দ্বীপে ছিলেন না। ফ্রেজারগঞ্জ পুলিশ দলকে অভিনন্দন জানাতে এগিয়ে এসেছিল। এরপরে যাত্রা শুরু হয়েছিল। যাত্রায় বেশ কয়েকটি পোড ডলফিনের সাক্ষী ছিল। দলটি উল্লেখ করেছিল যে নদীতে যে পরিমাণ প্লাস্টিকের বর্জ্য সংগ্রহ করা হচ্ছে তা উদ্বেগজনক। ফিশিং জাল মাছের চেয়ে বেশি প্লাস্টিক ক্যাপচার করে। পলল এবং জলের নমুনাগুলি বেশ কয়েকটি অবস্থান থেকে সংগ্রহ করা হয়েছে। সংক্ষেপে এক্সপ্লোরাররা একটি দুর্দান্ত কাজ করেছে এবং অদম্য মনোভাবের উদাহরণ দিয়েছিল।

We are glad that the Sea Explorers’ Institute completed its 28th expedition. We are perhaps the only niche not-for-profit organisation in India that works at the intersection of riverine and marine adventure and aquatic disaster management.
The journey from Kolkata to Diamond Harbour was smooth. One of the channels that existed earlier has silted now, Thus one had to enter the open sea. The team went towards Ghoramara, an island that is getting smaller by the day because of the constant erosion of the natural embankments. Even at a normal windspeed of 10 nautical miles, one has to be extremely alert for small boats like ours. A lot of barges ply in this region which makes it further difficult. The team witnessed a Bangladeshi barge split into two.
Keeping Sagar on the right, the team moved straight towards Mousuni Island. Mangroves can be found in plenty right after one crosses the Hardwood Point. After repeated map reading, one had to determine the route. After rowing in the Bay. of Bengal for a few kilometres, the boat headed towards Susni Island. None of the team members had ever been to this island before. The Frazergunj Police came forward to congratulate the team. The journey backwards started thereafter. Several pods of dolphins were witnessed on the journey. The team pointed out that the amount of plastic waste that is getting collected in the river is alarming. The fishing nets capture more plastic than fish. Sediments and water samples have been collected from several locations.
To sum up, the explorers did a fantastic job and exemplifiedan  indomitable spirit.
