Kolkata, July 12, 2025: As a part of Government of India’s continuous endeavour to generate more and more employment in a mission mode, Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister launched the 16th tranche of Rozgar Mela, the noble Recruitment Drive at 47 locations across the nation for more than 51,000 newly recruited appointees, via video conferencing today (12.07.2025). On this occasion, the Hon’ble Prime Minister also addressed the newly inducted candidates. At the Kolkata venue, Rozgar Mela was organised by Eastern Railway’s Sealdah Division at Dr. B.C.Roy Auditorium, Sealdah, wherein Dr. Sukanta Majumder, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Education & Development of North Eastern Region, Shri Milind Deouskar, General Manager, Eastern Railway, Smt. Zarina Firdausi, Principal Chief Personnel Officer, Shri Rajeev Saxena, Divisional Railway Manager, Sealdah and other senior officers of Eastern Railway and various Central Government Departments graced the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sukanta Majumder, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Education & Development of North Eastern Region, said that Rozgar Mela serves as a pivotal initiative in promoting employment opportunities, skill development and economic growth – ultimately benefiting the nation’s youth. Hon’ble Minister informed that under the able guidance of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, about 10 lakh jobs were provided till this 16th Rozgar Mela. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Milind Deouskar, General Manager, Eastern Railway, congratulated all the recruits and extended best wishes to them. Shri Deouskar also said that, Ministry of Railways, being the largest employer within the Central Government, has contributed to this noble cause of generating employment. In this 16th edition of Rozgar Mela, 251 candidates have been offered appointment and initiated other joining processes. Shri Deouskar, General Manager, also expressed his happiness as other Ministries such as the Ministry of Defence, Customs, P&T, GSI, AIIMS, UCO Bank, PNB, UBI, Narcotics Control Bureau, Ministry of Mines, etc., participated in this Rozgar Mela.
Appointment letters were physically handed over by Dr. Sukanta Majumder, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Education & Development of North Eastern Region, to the new appointees in different departments in the Central Government. On this occasion, 215 new appointees, including 01 Divyangjan candidate, were handed over the appointment letters physically by the dignitaries. Candidates who got the appointment letters expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji for organising the Rozgar mela and offering the appointment letters to the deserving candidates. The candidates were very excited and enthusiastically took selfies at the selfie points installed at the B. C. Roy Auditorium. This historic drive demonstrates the Government’s unwavering commitment to prioritising youth employment and development, which will, in turn, contribute to the nation’s economic growth by leveraging the skills and talents of the youth.
