কলকাতা: ক্যালকাটা বয়েজ স্কুল তাদের মূল ক্যাম্পাসে ৬ ও ৭ আগস্ট—এই দুই স্মরণীয় সন্ধ্যায় বার্ষিক কনসার্ট ‘ক্রেসেন্ডো ২০২৬’ (CRESCENDO 2026)-এর আয়োজন করে। এর মধ্য দিয়ে উদযাপন করা হয় শিক্ষার্থীদের সৃজনশীলতা, সংগীত ও নাটক। ‘দ্য এনচ্যান্টেড ফরেস্ট – এ জার্নি বিয়ন্ড দ্য অর্ডিনারি ইনটু এ ওয়ার্ল্ড হোয়ার ম্যাজিক কামস অ্যালাইভ’ (মায়াবী বন – সাধারণের বাইরে এমন এক জগতের যাত্রা যেখানে জাদু জীবন্ত হয়ে ওঠে) থিমের ওপর ভিত্তি করে আয়োজিত এই অনুষ্ঠানে গান, নাটক ও নানারকম পরিবেশনার মাধ্যমে শিক্ষার্থীরা তাদের শিল্পকলা ও কল্পনাশক্তির চমৎকার প্রকাশ ঘটায়। অনুষ্ঠানের সূচনা হয় ‘দ্য প্রেয়ার’ গানটির একটি হৃদয়স্পর্শী পরিবেশনার মাধ্যমে। এরপর সিবিএস (CBS) গায়কদল রবীন্দ্রসংগীত ‘মম চিত্তে নিতি নৃত্তে’ এবং ‘পিপল অল ওভার দ্য ওয়ার্ল্ড’ গান দুটি পরিবেশন করে দর্শকদের মুগ্ধ করে।
অনুষ্ঠানের মূল আকর্ষণ ছিল স্কুলের নিজস্ব নাট্য প্রযোজনা ‘দ্য এনচ্যান্টেড উডস’। এখানে পিটার প্যান, স্নো হোয়াইট এবং লিটল রেড রাইডিং হুডের মতো বিখ্যাত রূপকথার চরিত্রগুলোকে নাটকীয়ভাবে একসাথে ফুটিয়ে তোলা হয়। তরুণ কলাকুশলীদের এই পরিবেশনায় যেমন তাদের আত্মবিশ্বাস, সৃজনশীলতা ও মঞ্চদক্ষতা ফুটে ওঠে, তেমনই সহমর্মিতা ও সাহসিকতার মতো অর্থপূর্ণ শিক্ষার বার্তা ছড়িয়ে পড়ে। অনুষ্ঠানের প্রধান অতিথি তথা লরেটো কলেজের টিচার-ইন-চার্জ ড. সিস্টার এ. নির্মলা শিক্ষার্থীদের সার্বিক বিকাশে স্কুলের এই প্রচেষ্টার প্রশংসা করেন। তিনি বলেন, “শিশুদের স্বপ্নে বিশ্বাস রাখার জন্য আপনাদের ধন্যবাদ। পড়াশোনা যেমন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ, তেমনই সহমর্মিতাও একটি অপরিহার্য জীবনদক্ষতা যা গড়ে তোলা প্রয়োজন; নাটকটি খুব সুন্দরভাবে সেই বার্তাটি পৌঁছে দিয়েছে।”
পরে গায়কদলটি ‘এ মিলিয়ন ড্রিমস’ এবং ‘সেন্ড ইট অন’ গানগুলির প্রাণবন্ত পরিবেশনায় দর্শকদের মাতিয়ে তোলে। সবশেষে স্কুল সংগীত, জাতীয় গীতি এবং জাতীয় সংগীতের মাধ্যমে অনুষ্ঠানের সমাপ্তি ঘটে। অধ্যক্ষ ও সম্পাদক রাজা ম্যাকগি বলেন, “আমাদের জীবনের রহস্যময় প্রতিটি অধ্যায় আমাদের আরও বিজ্ঞ ও অভিজ্ঞ করে তোলে; আমাদের শিক্ষার্থীরা নাটকের মাধ্যমে ঠিক সেটাই ফুটিয়ে তুলেছে। প্রতিষ্ঠানটির প্রতি অভিভাবকদে অবিচল সমর্থন এবং সন্তানদের সমস্ত প্রচেষ্টায় উৎসাহ দেওয়ার জন্য আমি তাদের আন্তরিক ধন্যবাদ জানাই।” ‘ক্রেসেন্ডো ২০২৬’-এর সফল সমাপ্তি একাডেমিক শিক্ষার পাশাপাশি শৈল্পিক উৎকর্ষতা বৃদ্ধির প্রতি ক্যালকাটা বয়েজ স্কুলের প্রতিশ্রুতিকে পুনরায় নিশ্চিত করেছে। এটি শিক্ষার্থীদের সৃজনশীলতা প্রকাশ, আত্মবিশ্বাস বৃদ্ধি এবং শ্রেণীকক্ষের বাইরে নানা গুণাবলী অর্জনের একটি আদর্শ প্ল্যাটফর্ম প্রদান করেছে।
KOLKATA: Calcutta Boys’ School organized its annual concert ‘Crescendo 2026’ on two memorable evenings on August 6 and 7 at its main campus. It celebrated the creativity, music and drama of the students. Based on the theme ‘The Enchanted Forest – A Journey Beyond the Ordinary into a World Where Magic Comes Alive’, the students showcased their art and imagination through songs, skits and performances.The show began with a soulful rendition of the song ‘The Prayer’. The CBS choir then enthralled the audience with two Rabindra Sangeet songs, ‘ Mam Chitte Niti Nritte ‘ and ‘ People All Over the World ‘.
The main attraction of the program was the school’s own theatrical production ‘The Enchanted Woods’. Here, famous fairy-tale characters such as Peter Pan, Snow White and Little Red Riding Hood are dramatically brought together. As the performances of the young artists show their confidence, creativity and stage skills, the message of meaningful education, like empathy and bravery, spreads. The chief guest of the programme, Dr K.S. Sister A. Nirmal, appreciated the school’s efforts towards the overall development of the students. “Thank you for believing in children’s dreams. Just as education is important, empathy is an essential life skill that needs to be cultivated; the play conveys that message very well. “The choir later regaled the audience with lively performances of the songs” “A Million Dreams” “and” “Send It On.” “” The programme concluded with singing of the National Anthem, National Song and School Anthem.””
“Every mysterious chapter of our lives makes us wiser and more experienced; that’s exactly what our students have demonstrated through the play,” said Principal and Editor Raja McGee.
