গাজল কলেজের মাঠে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের সভা

মালদাঃ মালদহের গাজল কলেজের মাঠে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের সভা রয়েছে আজ মঙ্গলবার। তার আগের রাতে সভাস্থলের কাছেই গাজল থানা এলাকায় ঘটল বাস দুর্ঘটনা। সোমবার রাতেই এই মৃত্যু হয়েছে দু’জনের। আহত বেশ কয়েকজন বাসযাত্রী। ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছোয় বিশাল পুলিশবাহিনী। পুলিশ সূত্রে খবর, সোমবার রাতে ফরাক্কা থেকে উত্তর দিনাজপুরের দিকে যাচ্ছিল উত্তরবঙ্গ রাষ্ট্রীয় পরিবহণ সংস্থার একটি বাস। ওই বাসে প্রায় ৪৫ জন যাত্রী ছিল। ৩৪ নম্বর জাতীয় সড়কের উপর পাণ্ডুয়ার কাছে বাসটি নিয়ন্ত্রণ হারিয়ে রাস্তার ধারে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকা ছোট গাড়িতে ধাক্কা মারে। এর পর বাসটি নয়ানজুলিতে পড়ে যায়। ঘটনাস্থলেই মৃত্যু হয় দু’জনের। আহত কয়েক জনের অবস্থা আশঙ্কাজনক। আহতদের মালদহ মেডিক্যাল কলেজে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়েছে সেখানে তাঁদের চিকিৎসা চলছে।

Malda: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to hold a meeting at The Gazal College ground in Malda on Tuesday. The previous night, the bus accident took place in Gazal police station area near the meeting venue. Two people died on Monday night. Several passengers were injured. A large police force reached the spot. According to police sources, a bus of North Bengal State Transport Corporation was going towards North Dinajpur from Farakka on Monday night. There were about 45 passengers on the bus. The bus lost control near Pandua on National Highway 34 and hit a small vehicle parked on the side of the road. The bus then fell into Nayanjuli. Two people died on the spot. The condition of some of the injured is critical. The injured have been taken to Malda Medical College where they are undergoing treatment.
