কলকাতা, ৮ আগস্ট ২০২৫: পূর্ব ভারতের অন্যতম শীর্ষ বহুমুখী স্বাস্থ্যসেবা প্রতিষ্ঠান মণিপাল হাসপাতাল, ঢাকুরিয়া আজ আয়োজন করল বিশেষ অঙ্কোলজি মিট, যেখানে ক্যান্সার জয়ী রোগী, তাঁদের পরিবারের সদস্য এবং দেশের প্রখ্যাত ক্যান্সার বিশেষজ্ঞরা এক মঞ্চে একত্রিত হলেন। এই আয়োজন শুধু ক্যান্সার জয়ীদের অদম্য মানসিকতাকেই উদযাপন করেনি, বরং তুলে ধরেছে হাসপাতালের আধুনিক অবকাঠামো ও সমন্বিত ক্যান্সার চিকিৎসা ক্ষমতাও। অনুষ্ঠানের অংশ হিসেবে মণিপাল হাসপাতাল, ঢাকুরিয়া আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে চালু করল অঙ্গভিত্তিক অঙ্কোলজি সেবা, যা লক্ষ্যভিত্তিক ও বিশেষায়িত ক্যান্সার চিকিৎসা প্রদান করবে। পাশাপাশি, ক্যান্সার রোগীদের জন্য “বিনামূল্যে সেকেন্ড ওপিনিয়ন” পরামর্শ উদ্যোগও ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে, যা রোগী-কেন্দ্রিক, সহজলভ্য ও স্বচ্ছ স্বাস্থ্যসেবার প্রতি হাসপাতালের অঙ্গীকারকে আরও দৃঢ় করবে।

মণিপাল হাসপাতাল, ঢাকুরিয়ার “বিনামূল্যে সেকেন্ড ওপিনিয়ন” উদ্যোগ কলকাতা ও পশ্চিমবঙ্গের বিভিন্ন জেলার শত শত ক্যান্সার রোগীর উপকারে আসবে। বর্তমানে রাজ্যের প্রায় ২৫% ক্যান্সার রোগী উন্নত চিকিৎসার জন্য অন্য শহরে যাতায়াত করেন। এই নতুন উদ্যোগ রোগীদের ঘরের কাছেই নির্ভরযোগ্য, বহুবিভাগীয় বিশেষজ্ঞ সেবা পৌঁছে দেবে, ভ্রমণজনিত কষ্ট ও মানসিক চাপ কমাবে এবং সঠিক চিকিৎসা-সংক্রান্ত সিদ্ধান্ত নিতে সহায়তা করবে। সীমিত অঙ্কোলজি পরিষেবা পাওয়া অঞ্চলে দ্রুত, বিশেষজ্ঞ-নেতৃত্বাধীন পরামর্শ প্রদান করে এটি চিকিৎসা শুরুর সময় এগিয়ে দেবে ও স্থানীয় পর্যায়ে চিকিৎসা সমতা নিশ্চিত করবে। অনুষ্ঠানে বক্তব্য রাখতে গিয়ে ডা. শুভায়ু বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় বলেন, “এই মিট কেবল বেঁচে থাকার উদযাপন নয়, বরং ক্যান্সার চিকিৎসায় আমাদের অগ্রগতিরও উদযাপন। ক্যান্সার আর এক রকম চিকিৎসায় সীমাবদ্ধ রোগ নয়। অঙ্গভিত্তিক অঙ্কোলজি বিশেষজ্ঞতা ও অত্যাধুনিক ডায়াগনস্টিক সুবিধা থাকায় আমরা প্রতিটি রোগীর জন্য অত্যন্ত ব্যক্তিকেন্দ্রিক, নিখুঁত ও কার্যকরী চিকিৎসা পরিকল্পনা তৈরি করতে পারি। আমাদের মূলমন্ত্র— সঠিক সময়ে, সঠিক চিকিৎসক দলের মাধ্যমে, সঠিক চিকিৎসা পৌঁছে দেওয়া। এই ধরনের অনুষ্ঠান রোগীর মানসিক দৃঢ়তাকে যেমন সম্মান জানায়, তেমনি আমাদের কমিউনিটিতে শক্তিশালী সহায়ক ব্যবস্থা তৈরির প্রতিশ্রুতিকেও দৃঢ় করে।”
হাসপাতালের পরিচালক মি. দিলীপ কুমার রায় যোগ করেন, “মণিপালে আমাদের লক্ষ্য কেবল চিকিৎসা নয়— রোগী ও তাঁদের পরিবারকে সঠিক জ্ঞান, পরামর্শ ও সহায়তা দিয়ে সচেতন ও ক্ষমতায়িত করা। বিশেষায়িত অঙ্কোলজি ইউনিট ও বিনামূল্যে সেকেন্ড ওপিনিয়ন সেবা চালু করা ক্যান্সার চিকিৎসার ঘাটতি পূরণের একটি বড় পদক্ষেপ। বিশেষজ্ঞ-নেতৃত্বাধীন, নৈতিক ও সাশ্রয়ী চিকিৎসা বাড়ির কাছাকাছি এনে আমরা রোগীদের অনিশ্চয়তা দূর করতে চাই, যাতে তারা অতিরিক্ত ভ্রমণের চাপ ছাড়াই আত্মবিশ্বাসের সঙ্গে সিদ্ধান্ত নিতে পারেন।” হাসপাতালের অঙ্কোলজি সেন্টার অত্যাধুনিক ডায়াগনস্টিক প্রযুক্তি, আধুনিক অপারেশন থিয়েটার এবং বহুবিভাগীয় দলভিত্তিক চিকিৎসা পদ্ধতির মাধ্যমে ক্যান্সার শনাক্তকরণ, অস্ত্রোপচার, রেডিয়েশন ও মেডিক্যাল অঙ্কোলজি— সব ধরনের সেবা এক ছাদের নিচে প্রদান করে। এই অর্জন পূর্ব ভারতে একটি বহুমুখী ক্যান্সার কেয়ার সেন্টার গড়ে তোলার মণিপাল হাসপাতালের ভিশনের অন্যতম গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ধাপ, যা সকলের জন্য মানসম্মত ক্যান্সার চিকিৎসা নিশ্চিত করবে।
Kolkata, August 8, 2025: Manipal Hospital, Dhakuria, a unit of one of Eastern India’s leading multi-speciality healthcare institutions, hosted a special Oncology Meet today, bringing together cancer survivors, caregivers, and renowned oncology experts under one roof. The programme celebrated the indomitable spirit of survivors while spotlighting the hospital’s advanced infrastructure and holistic cancer care capabilities. As part of the meeting, Manipal Hospital, Dhakuri, announced the launch of organ-specific oncology services, aimed at providing targeted and specialised cancer care across disciplines. The hospital also introduced a “Free Second Opinion” consultation initiative for cancer patients, reinforcing its commitment to accessibility, transparency, and patient-first care.
The programme witnessed the presence of a dedicated team of 10 oncologists from Manipal Hospital, Dhakuria, highlighting the strength and collaboration within the hospital’s oncology department. Present at the event were Dr. Shubhayu Banerjee, Advisor, Comprehensive Cancer Care Center, Senior Consultant-GI Oncology, Dr. Bastab Ghosh, Consultant – Uro Oncology; Dr. Sagnik Ray, Consultant – Surgical Oncology; Dr. Tanmoy Kumar Mandal and Dr. Ashutosh Daga, Consultants – Medical Oncology; Dr. Shreya Bhattacharya, Consultant – Head & Neck Surgery/Oncology; Dr. Jasashwi Chakraborty, Consultant – Haematology; Dr. Saumen Basu, Senior Consultant – Radiation Oncology; Dr. Anirban Halder, Consultant – Radiation Oncology; and Dr. Paromita Roy, Gynaecological Oncology. Mr. Dilip Kumar Roy, Hospital Director, Manipal Hospital, Dhakuria, was also present.
Manipal Hospital, Dhakuria’s “Free Second Opinion” Consultation Initiative for cancer patients aims to benefit hundreds across Kolkata and the districts of West Bengal. With nearly 25% of cancer patients in the state travelling to other metros for specialised treatment, this program brings trusted, multidisciplinary oncology care to the patients’ doorstep, reducing travel, stress, and allowing for more informed treatment decisions. It precisely tackles an important medical gap by offering timely, expert-directed consultations in regions with limited availability of oncology care, allowing for early treatment and more localised cancer care equity.
