As the city gears up for the grand celebration of Durga Pujo, Sunrise unveils a heart-warming and innovative initiative that promises to transform the way people experience the festival. Titled ‘Sunrise Maa-Er Sathe Selfie’, this unique campaign blends tradition with technology, offering Pujo enthusiasts a smarter, more inclusive way to connect with the spirit of the season. For many, taking Maa-Er Sathe Selfie at Kolkata’s iconic mandaps is a cherished dream. But the reality often involves braving massive crowds, long queues, and strict restrictions on photography. Volunteers urge visitors to move along, signs declare “No Selfies,” and even if they manage to click a selfie, it’s often blurry, overexposed, or simply unworthy of sharing on social media. Moreover, for the elderly or those with limited mobility, even reaching the idol is next to impossible. Adding to this, it has been observed that photo-taking leads to a considerable increase in crowd congestion at mandaps, making the experience difficult for everyone involved. To address these challenges, Sunrise has introduced a thoughtful and tech-powered solution in association with SunriseThePuja.App.

This year, Sunrise introduces a special QR code (given below). On scanning, users will be directed to an interactive digital map showcasing 50+ renowned Durga Puja mandaps across Kolkata. From there, they can choose their preferred mandap, enjoy a 360-degree immersive view and capture a perfect virtual Sunrise Maa-Er Sathe Selfie or even upload a groufie — no pushing, no rushing, no missed moments. The initiative is designed to ensure everyone, including the people from distant districts who cannot make it to the Kolkata mandaps, the elderly and the specially-abled, can experience the joy of ‘Maa-Er Sathe Selfie’ from anywhere. The selfies can then be shared on the social media of the users. Users can also tag @SunrisePure. Participants stand a chance to win exciting prizes throughout the festive season. The initiative was officially launched today by renowned actor and Sunrise brand ambassador, Abir Chattopadhyay, who demonstrated the application and encouraged Bengal to embrace a more inclusive and enjoyable way to celebrate Durga Pujo. With ‘Sunrise Maa-Er Sathe Selfie’, the brand not only preserves the essence of Pujo but also ensures it’s accessible to more people than ever before — truly a celebration for all. “Durga Pujo is about emotion, connection, and joy,” said Abir Chattopadhyay.“This initiative by Sunrise lets everyone — no matter where they are or what their physical condition — be part of the celebration. And it’s done in a way that reduces congestion and enhances the experience for all.”
