নিজস্ব সংবাদঃ সৌন্দর্য ও সৃজনশীলতার নিরিখে সাধারন মানুষের থেকেও বহুলাংশে নারী ও পুরুষ সমকামী, উভকামী ও রূপান্তরকামীরা অনেকটাই এগিয়ে। অথচ এই আধুনিক সভ্যতার যুগে আজও তারা ব্রাত্য। ওরাও চায় সমাজের মুল স্রোতের মানুষের মতো করে বাঁচতে। এইসব এল জি বিটিকিউ সম্প্রদায়ের মানুষদের সমাজের মূল স্রোতে ফিরিয়ে আনতে দীর্ঘদিন ধরে কাজ করে চলেছে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের বর্ধমান জেলার একটি স্বেচ্ছাসেবী সংস্থা- এঞ্জেল নবজীবন ওয়েলফেয়ার সোসাইটি। এবার তাদের উদ্যোগে এল জি বিটি কিউ সম্প্রদায়ের মানুষদের সৌন্দর্য ও কর্মদক্ষতা তুলে ধরতে শুরু হচ্ছে অভিনব ফ্যাশান শো ও সৌন্দর্য প্রতিযোগিতা। বর্ধমান শহরে আগামী ৩০ জুলাই অনুষ্ঠিত হবে ‘আলপিন’ নামে এই ফ্যাশান শো ও বিউটি কনটেস্ট। আগামী দিনে রাজ্যের প্রতিটি জেলায় এই প্রতিযোগিতা অনুষ্ঠিত হবে। এই উপলক্ষে কলকাতা প্রেস ক্লাবে এক সাংবাদিক সম্মেলনে একথা জানিয়েছেন রাজ্যের প্রাক্তন ক্রীড়া ও পরিবহন মন্ত্রী মদন মিত্র।
বক্তব্য রাখেন ভারতের প্রথম ট্রান্স মহিলা অধ্যক্ষ মানবী বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় ও টেকনো ইন্ডিয়া গ্রুপের গ্রুপ সিইও অধ্যাপক শঙ্কু বোস। এঞ্জেল নবজীবন ওয়েলফেয়ার সোসাইটির প্রতিষ্ঠাতা সঙ্গীতা সিনহা বলেন, এল জি বি টি কিউ মানুষদের শৈলী, সৌন্দর্য ও সৃজনশীলতা তুলে ধরতে ‘আলপিন’ প্রকল্পের মাধ্যমে তারা এই উদ্যোগ নিয়েছেন। আলপিন একটি তুচ্ছ জিনিস হলেও আমাদের কাছে তা খুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। এলজিবিটিকিউ সম্প্রদায়ের মধ্যে লুকানো প্রতিভা তুলে ধরার পাশাপাশি তাদের সৃজনশীলতাকে ফুটিয়ে তুলবে। প্রাক্তন পরিবহনমন্ত্রী মদন মিত্র বলেন, “এলজিবিটিকিউ ব্যক্তিদের ফ্যাশন এবং সৌন্দর্যের মাধ্যমে নিজেদের প্রকাশ করার জন্য একটি প্ল্যাটফরর্মের প্রয়োজন ছিল৷ এর মাধ্যমে তারা তাদের প্রতিভাকে তুলে ধরতে পারবে। ভারতের প্রথম ট্রান্স উইমেন প্রিন্সিপাল মিসেস মানবী বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় বলেন, এইসব সম্প্রদায়ের মানুষের মধ্যে অনেক প্রতিভা লুকিয়ে রয়েছে। সেগুলিকে তুলে ধরা ও সাধারন মানুষের মতো করে এদের বাঁচতে দেওয়ার এই উদ্যোগ খুবই প্রশংসনীয়।

This fashion show and beauty contest called ‘Alpin’ will be held in Burdwan city on July 30. This competition will be held in every district of the state in the coming days. Madan Mitra, the former sports and transport minister of the state, said this in a press conference at Kolkata Press Club on this occasion. Manavi Banerjee, India’s first trans woman principal and Professor Shanku Bose, Group CEO of Techno India Group spoke. Sangeeta Sinha, founder of Angel Navjivan Welfare Society, said that they have taken this initiative through ‘Alpine’ project to highlight the style, beauty and creativity of LGBTQ people. Alpin is a trivial thing but very important to us. It will bring out the hidden talent within the LGBTQ community as well as unleash their creativity. Former Transport Minister Madan Mitra said, “LGBTQ people needed a platform to express themselves through fashion and beauty. Through this they can showcase their talent. India’s first trans woman principal Ms. Manbhi Banerjee said there is a lot of talent hidden in people from these communities. This initiative to highlight and let them live like common people is very commendable.
