স্টুডেন্টস হেলথ হোমের ৭৩তম প্রতিষ্ঠা বার্ষিকী উদ্যাপন সভা এবং সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠান হতে চলেছে মধ্য কলকাতার মহাজাতি সদনে। আগামী ২রা সেপ্টেম্বর, সোমবার বেলা দেড়টায় বর্ণময় ওই অনুষ্ঠানকে ঘিরে ইতিমধ্যে রাজ্যের ৩০টি আঞ্চলিক কেন্দ্রেই জোর প্রচার চলছে। প্রতিষ্ঠা বার্ষিকী, সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠানের পাশাপাশি ওইদিন সারা রাজ্যের ছাত্রছাত্রী, শিক্ষক ও চিকিৎসকদের স্বাক্ষর সংবলিত আবেদনপত্র নিয়ে স্টুডেন্টস হেলথ্ হোমের সরকারি অনুদান বার্ষিক ২কোটি টাকার আবেদনও উত্থাপিত হবে। পরে রাজ্যের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী তথা স্বাস্থ্যমন্ত্রীর উদ্দেশে স্মারকলিপি দেওয়ার পরিকল্পনা নেওয়া হয়েছে। ইতিমধ্যে গত জানুয়ারি মাসে ‘হাঁটো ছাত্র স্বার্থে, হাঁটো হোমের স্বাস্থ্যে ’— এই লক্ষ্যে কলকাতায় পদযাত্রাও হয়। পদযাত্রায় হোমের সরকারি অনুদানের প্রয়োজনীয়তা উল্লেখ করে পথ হাঁটেন রাজ্যের বহু বিশিষ্ট চিকিৎক এবং গুণীজন। প্রসঙ্গত, স্বাধীনতা সংগ্রামের নির্যাসপুষ্ট এই স্টুডেন্টস হেলথ হোম ১৯৫২ সালে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়।
বহু লড়াই-সংগ্রামের মধ্য দিয়ে বিকশিত হোমে বর্তমানে কলকাতার মৌলালির মোড়ে ৫০ শয্যার হাসপাতাল ছাড়াও রাজ্যের ৩০টি কেন্দ্রে নগন্য খরচে ছাত্রছাত্রীরা অভিজ্ঞ চিকিৎসকদের দ্বারা পরিষেবা পেয়ে আসছে। শুধু তাই নয়, অর্থনৈতিক সংকট মোকাবিলার জন্য ২০২২ সালের ৭ই এপ্রিল থেকে ন্যায্য মূল্যের বিনিময়ে সর্বসাধারণের জন্য খুলে দেওয়া হয়েছে হোমের কেন্দ্রীয় হাসপাতাল। বহু আধুনিক পরিষেবা, এমনকি ICU-র ব্যবস্থা রয়েছে। লক্ষ্য, সাধ্যের মধ্যে সর্বসাধারণের সাধ্যাতীত পরিষেবা দিয়ে উপার্জিত অর্থে হোমকে অর্থনৈতিকভাবে স্বাবলম্বী করা, যাতে ছাত্রছাত্রীদের যৎসামান্য মূল্যে চিকিৎসার শাশ্বত অধিকার অক্ষুণ্ণ রাখা যায়। অতীতে যে সরকারি অনুদান স্টুডেন্টস হেলথ্ হোম অর্জন করেছিল, তার সঙ্গে সাযুজ্য রেখে সেই অনুদান বাৎসরিক ২কোটি টাকায় বৃদ্ধির ঐকান্তিক আবেদন নিয়ে ফের আমাদের অভিযান শুরু। আমরা চাই, কলকাতার এই হাসপাতালে সকলের জন্য স্বল্পমূল্যের বিনিময়ে যেভাবে চিকিৎসা পরিষেবা দেওয়া হচ্ছে তারও প্রচার হোক আপনাদের সহযোগিতায়।

The 73rd foundation anniversary celebration meeting and cultural program of Students Health Home will be held at Mahajati Sadan in Central Kolkata. On September 2nd, Monday at 1.30 pm, campaigning is already happening in 30 regional centres of the state around the colourful event. In addition to the establishment anniversary and cultural program, on that day, an application form with the signatures of students, teachers and doctors from all over the state will be raised. Later, plans are made to give a memorandum to the Chief Minister and Health Minister of the state. In the month last January, “Walk for the sake of students, walk for the health of the home”, a march was also held in Kolkata. In the padayatra, many prominent doctors and gurus of the state walked the path mentioning the need for government grants to the home. Incidentally, this Students’ Health Home was established in the year 1952 with the essence of freedom struggle. Developed through many struggles, the home now has a 50-bed hospital at Maulali Junction in Kolkata, apart from 30 centres across the state where students are being served by experienced doctors at negligible cost. Not only this, Home Central Hospital has been opened for the public from 7th April 2022 at a fair price to deal with the economic crisis. There are many modern services, even ICU facilities. The aim is to make the Home financially self-sufficient by providing services beyond the reach of the public within the means so that the eternal right of the students at an affordable cost of treatment is preserved intact. In harmony with the government grant which the Students Health Home had received in the past, we started our campaign again with the sole request to increase the grant to 2 crore rupees annually.
